GAME REVIEWI will be reviewing NBA 2K18, I am reviewing this game because it is a new and improved compared to the previous versions. Every year they change the gameplay and atmosphere of the game. This year (2018) they have really made the game realistic. Where do we start off? Well let’s start from the normal “play now” mode. This side of the game is where you usually jump into matches and play against CPU or another a player 2. Diving straight into this game mode is the part where it gets interesting, the most acknowledged change and improvement is the way the controls feel in the game, the player movement are more flexible instead of stiff. Then we move onto the atmosphere of the game,

This is undoubtedly the best gameplay that NBA 2K have produced to date. The game has a sense of fluidity and a realistic pace that previous instalments have lacked. Players have a unique feeling and it is obvious as to which position you are playing with at any given moment. Point guards are nifty and based on their true to life skills have various quick dribbling animations which can be utilised to break down the opposing teams defence, whereas, bigs such as centres and power forwards have a unique feeling of ‘power’ when in the low post. Having played the last 3 games in this series I have to say this is really a step up from anything previous to it. I absolutely loved 2k16 and that edition is still my favourite, but this one offers many different aspects to create a pretty unique experience in my opinion. Yes it is slower as everything that you want to do/places to go requires actually running to the shop, etc. and of course that brings with it extra load times, but it makes the game more interesting. The openness of the Neighbourhood is great, once you get used to where everything is. The story is ok, and this along with the game play for me is much better than 2k17.

NBA 2k18 looks a bit better than 2k17 and plays slightly different. The AI has improved on both defense and offense. A bunch of new classic teams are introduced and the addition of 'all time' teams is great. Too bad you can't select a Sonics uniform with the all time Thunder team. It consist of mostly Sonics player, but you're stuck with the OKC jerseys. Kemp and Payton in an OKC jersey is just wrong. Some key players are still missing, like Barkley, Reggie Miller, Rasheed Wallace, Clifford Robinson, even Kendrick Perkins seems to be missing now? The soundtrack is much better than in previous editions. Great game, minor issues.

Great game; crappy Career mode. If you're into MyTeam/MyGM this is the best it can get. It's a stellar improvement from the previous instalments, and I'd recommend NBA 2K18 to anyone on these game modes alone.But if you want the career mode, prepare for an endless amount of unskippable and infuriating cutscenes that have no benefit to the game whatsoever. This year's 'best friend' is the embodiment of everything that's wrong with this year's Career mode; Whoever decided to cast 'B-Fresh' or whatever they're called seriously needs to reevaluate their life (because this year's cast made me reevaluate mine).

Great game as expected from 2k. It is difficult to change many features in a game of this type without dropping the quality and 2k definitely nailed it here.New features in MyTeam, the Run the Neighbourhood feature of MyCareer and the All-Time best Teams are just the tip of the iceberg. 2k has spoiled us the last years with the constant improvement of its product which makes it reasonable for some people to complain, demand more and have higher expectations each year.The game is solid and every each one that is having fun with sport video games should give it a try.

This was a Christmas present for my son! In the past I have spent small fortunes on brand new release games, which have been played on once or twice before he reverts back to his beloved fifa! So when he asked for NBA, we compromised and agreed he could get an older (cheaper) version and if he played on it more than a couple of days we may get the next version on release date! Well it’s the 3rd of January and I haven’t seen my son since he unwrapped this game on Christmas Day!! He’ll deffo be getting the new version on release day next time! Well worth the money!

Love the game, especially my career but the micro transactions are everywhere. The my career is about getting your player to 99 but if you dont spend money chances of getting there are slim. Along with removing rookie difficulty on my career mode it seems like this mode is pushing you towards spending money. Though the story mode is pretty great. As always the other modes work great, online is always fun. Recommend but it is a very much of a huge grind to get your player to a decent rating or having to spend money.

NBA 2k18 is an amazing game. I am a newbie to the whole 2k franchise and I don't know a lot about basketball so I gave plenty to learn. I wanted a new challenge. Great graphics, presentation and the gameplay is smooth. MyCareer is good but rather slow to get through.As with most games nowadays, it has it's glitches and faults but I dare say they will be addressed with a few (or more) patches to fix them.It is a thrilling and fun game, so much so that I might just skip buying Fifa 18 this year!

Love the NBA, so a game matching that passion is always great! Love the graphics and gameplay and actually happy that the scoring is now a lot harder. You really have to perform the right dribble and turns to get that ball in the basket! To all those reviews that 2k is money grabbing, what do you want? Achieve the highest mark in the first week of playing? Just play your matches and earn those VC and you will gradually improve your player!

The best sports game out right now and has been for a few years and yes I include FIFA in that judgementI was never a fan of basketball but since I have been playing the last 3 years of this game I have now found an interest in the sport (still don’t know the rules though).Every year they find a way to make the game better somehowI would advise any fan or non fan of the sport to give this game a go as it is an amazing game.

Best NBA game to date. Graphics and slightly improved, so looks great. Gameplay is a lot smoother than 17 and makes you feel in control of players movements, dribbles and passing significantly better. Shooting had revamp this year just one shot meter which is a whole lot better than 17. My carear is brilliant as always, in depth and great to play so far. Get this game if your a true NBA fan

It’s another fun basketball game from 2K, nothing here has disappointed me. The neighbourhood is a cool feature and MyPark is still great fun playing with a couple of friends. I’ve seen complaints on the loading times and for me they don’t seem bad at all, they personally seem an improvement from 2K17. Overall I’m having great fun with the game as I simply enjoy basketball!

Although I don't know much about basketball, this game compared to the previous 2ks has been great for me as it helps when it comes to being able to learn the tricks and skills by the different modes. The objectives and the road to 99 make it even more exciting and it doesn't allow me to get bored because its something to aim towards.

Gameplay is decent and overall another strong basketball game from 2k (still much better than EA's NBA live!) however there are several flaws. The most obvious and annoying being that if you want to get anywhere with levelling your MyPlayer you'll end up spending really money on VC to avoid a lengthy grind.
