This is a cracking product for playing Digital Music with your vinyl turntables. Using the out of the box equipment and cables I had it up and running in pretty quick time. There were a few minor issues during set-up which I managed to resolve with the help of Google. Some items potential buyers should know:1) The time coded vinyl's WILL emit an audible 'beeeeeep' when played, this is the signal sent to the Traktor software which is converted to music which is what you here through the speakers. Now, at first it really bothered me as I usually play in my bedroom at night so have the volume pretty quiet. However, after a couple of weeks I don't even notice it!2) The time coded vinyl are VERY sensitive to dust,I noticed that a playing track would suddenly skip or speed up for no apparent reason. However after a good wet clean and all the problems disappeared.3) If you switch between Digital time coded vinyl and real vinyl (which is what I do) you WILL need further items which are NOT provided within the pack. Native Instruments say that you can switch to 'Thru Mode' within the Traktor software to play normal vinyl's - this is NOT an option, the volume/sound quality of the inputs is greatly reduced - mainly because the inputs are connected via the 'Line' Inputs rather than the 'Phono' inputs which have a in-built pre-amp.The answer is to BUY 'Native Instruments Multicore Cables' at £20 a box, and you'll need two sets, so £40 in total (this is assuming that you don't want to pull out cables during a mix...)Now, having read various discussions on the NI forums, the Traktor software/hardware is working as per its specifications, so you can't really say that the system is faulty, but for me, it is not totally usable in its stock form so the extra cables are a must. Plenty of How-To's on the web to educate you as to how to cable it up.(Like I say this is only an issue if you want to use real vinyl alongside digital vinyl - if you want to play straight digital vinyl then you'll be fine).4) Make use of the various YouTube helper videos to set up Traktor, or how to record your own mixes - as I don't think it's particularly self explanatory, especially if you haven't used a DVS before - like me! But the community out there is vast, so any problems you have - someone WILL have the answer. On the whole though, the system is good, its solid, well built and it works really nicely - I like it a lot and have had a lot of fun using it!EDIT:Have had this a while now and it hasn't put a foot wrong. Updates come through periodically - which I have had no problems with. So, a good solid product, well worth the money.EDIT [2]:Upgraded the Review to 5 stars, even with the negatives listed above, this is by far and away a quality product - never let me down, always learning something new - superb value for the price.

I am not an experienced DJ, but Traktor Scratch seems to work as it was real vinyl, really. It's pretty accurate and, from my little experience, feels like spinning a real vinyl record. The hardware is compact and sturdy. There are several lights that show the state of the inputs and outputs, so you don't need to look at the software interface to troubleshoot connections. The connectors are really firm, screwed into place. Audio quality seems to be very good, but I can't take serious measurements without adequate equipment. The USB cable included is a high-quality cable, but the audio cables are of poor quality. I recommend that you buy a pair of good RCA stereo cables to connect it to your mixer. The software has a lot more features than what I need, but some of them are easy to get rid of in the interface, making it a lot more versatile than, say, Serato Scratch Live. For instance, the BPM indicators and the "drift" bar can be disabled, which is a plus for experienced DJs and starters like me.One of my favorite features is the track selection area on the timecode vinyl records, a really helpful feature not found on other digital vinyl systems. It really helps to avoid touching the computer without buying additional hardware.I really recommend it, since it's cheaper than Serato and offers more features.

This sound card rules, and works great with Traktor Scratch Pro 2, which is what I use it for. Rather than touting all the things I love about it, let me just mention what I don't like:The only bad thing I have to say about this product is that the USB port on the unit is weak and delicate. It broke on a used one that I purchased (not the one I bought new later). I can't rule out previous abuse, but it worked great for over year and showed no signs of damage or malfunction. Then all of a sudden, one day I went to pull out the cable from the unit and the cable completely ripped out the USB housing. Totally destroyed the USB port, rendering the item useless for DJing, which is what i need it for.I have since bought a replacement USB 2.0 port that I am going to solder in, I hope it works. I have since thrown away the cable that did the damage, even though I doubt the cable was broken or damaged. My only advice is to be very careful when plugging in and unplugged a USB cable to this device. Don't wiggle it. Go straight in and out. I have heard of this happening to someone else too. Just be careful. I wish NI made a stronger USB housing for this product.

This is a fantastic system for using your vinyl turntables to play your MP3 from your laptop. The Traktor Scratch program is now pretty much industry standard and this A6 system also includes the Remix Decks for using samples & loops in your mix. But if you are only looking to use 2 decks at most at any one time then this is perfect for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - HOWEVER - the soundcard only has 2 outputs to plug in to 2 channels on your external mixer. So even though you can play on 4 separate decks (4 decks or 2 decks +2 remix decks) you can only play them through 2 channels on your mixer, meaning either 2 track or 1 track & samples/loops all play at same time through 1 channel & cannot be managed separately. So if you want to be able to cue your samples/loops on the Remix Decks before playing & have full control over all 4 channels on Traktor through 4 channels on your mixer - you need to buy Traktor Scratch A10 as that soundcard has 4 outputs, which will allow this. I instantly found I had made a mistake once I had bought the A6 system and am in the process of changing this over to the A10 package for this reason.

I'm coming from being a vinyl only DJ and I found this to be a great upgrade for me.There are plenty of configuration options for decks and mixers, software decks and live performance and lots of combinations of them but beware if you're new to it as tool tips are not on by default.Timecode works really well, but needed to tweak my anti-skate to get it calibrated properly on one deck.Great at managing pitch and tempo independently or together, key syncing is very useful.Any deck can be a master for tempo syncing or you can set an overall master tempo for your decks to refer to.Automatic or manual looping 1/32 beat to 32 bars, snap and quantize settings for loops and you can store a good few of them for each track and it all works with timecoded vinyl.Really good bpm and key analysis.Plenty of samples to play with for Remix decks and you can download 1.5GB of free stem tracks to practice with the Stem Decks.Needs a bit of fancy footwork to configure recording audio files and standard vinyl as part of the same set.

It took a while to get running on my PC. I hooked it all up and installed the software and downloaded all the patches and stuff and it still wouldn't recognize the interface. I read how Windows 8.1with USB 3.0 needed a patch. You would think that would have been part of the updates pulled down by scratch at installation but apparently not. After 30 minutes of searching NI's forums and downloads and every other nook on their website I found the patch randomly in a strange place (They have a lot of dead or outdated links on their site). I wasn't even sure if it was what I needed but I tried with my fingers crossed and it worked. Oh, and even with vinyl control, set your mixer inputs to line. That isn't very clear in the instructions either.Anyhow, it runs like a champ on my Corei5 with 8 gigs of RAM, even with lots of other apps open. Latency is low and it's very responsive using two Akai Pro LPD8s as controllers for loops, cues and effects. Worth every penny.

this is really an amazing product, feels like technology of the future, any song you have mapped to a vinylthe only but with this product is beatsync, by design it won't work according to NI support! even if you have it on, it won't work, this behavior is different from any midi controller where you jump thru the song and the program automatically resyncs, according to support this is suppose to emulate a real turntable.

This has been a go-to for audio interfacing my turntables to my laptop, as well as providing convenient ins and outs for my laptop when working on music at home. It's proven itself in several gigs, providing excellent audio output and reliability. Compared to the issues I experienced with my previous Connectiv inteface, this is worlds apart in terms of quality, build construction, and durability.

Traktor Scratch software at times loses the CD turntables, while in the mix, iTunes library does not always load when clicking on it, I have to reboot my Mac to be able to have the Traktor software recognize my iTunes library.Have not used this for a gig, still experimenting and learning to operate it. Price compared to the Rane, is two to three hundred dollars cheaper.

Careful! This is an older version of Traktor that DOES NOT INCLUDE the mutlicore cables that come with current versions. You cannot switche between standard vinyl and coded vinyl without them. Everything else is perfect and as described. Bummed but satisfied...almost.

Outstanding build & sound quality as you would expect from the legends at Native Instruments. I can now play my old Vinyl & downloaded digital tracks together & mix them in the traditional way on my Technic 1200s. Over the moon with this.

16.4.2014

Perfect for a 2 deck & mixer set up. I've had a blast importing all my favorite old records and remastering them. Having control of all the songs on my computer like they were a record is the apex of dj'ing to me.

1.1.2015

I have been skeptical on Digital DJ set ups but I have to say this far exceeded expectations. I am die hard vinyl but this has certainly filled a gap for me with the music I use it for. Good stuff, go get one.

Awesome bit of kit, I’d say it’s THE BEST DVS system on the market, very intuitive, great build quality as to be expected from Native Instruments .FIVE STARS ?

8.4.2013

Traktor is by far the best if you want to keep the feel of wax under your fingers instead of going to cdjs. Much more responsive than serato
