There's a whole series now for My Sims now, and where it was at first portrayed as a copy of Animal Crossing I find it to be very different. Funny thing in My Sims is that they release a DS-game for every title at the same time, that has a whole different story line then the Wii game. And not only different, not half as good either. My Sims Kingdom is all about being a Wandolier, gathering essences and building things. Let me explain. The wandolier has a magic staff, with which she can build just about anything. (I need one of those things too!) Only thing she needs to do that are essences and scrolls. The essences you can collect through different means: digging, chipping away at walls, gathering the fruit off trees or fishing. And while looking for essences, you'll find scrolls too. The scrolls are kind of blueprints, and you can't use them unless you've gathered the prescribed essences. Your traveling partner Lindsay will unlock the scrolls after you've collected everything. And with these scrolls and the things you gather you do all kinds of chores and tasks.Let me tell you, the sims you meet have a lot of strings to their bow. The kingdom consists of various islands, and there will be about 6 or 7 tasks for every island. So it takes some time to finish! The tasks differ, from herding animals to building houses or connecting electricity or water pipes. The electrical appliances are difficult for me, I must confess. I've been fiddling about forever before I finally managed to connect the computer center on Rocket Reef. But I like the game. It has a laid back feeling to it, it really helps you to relax. No need to be on your toes because there aren't any enemies to slay. Everything is peaceful, colorful and happy. Sometimes too happy, I tend to turn down the volume because there's only so much happy gibbering I can take.Only thing that is really missing in the game is wifi. Why not make it so that it's able to connect to other kingdoms. In my opinion that's a lost opportunity!8/10

I don't usually write reviews but I felt I had to respond to the people who made comments about the language on the game.My Sims is related to The Sims games you can get for PC and Mac. It's like The Sims little brother or sister, cute and fun. The language is a generic language that isn't speaking but more sounds, it means it can appeal to all countries without having to have lots of different languages. Personally I don't see the problem with it. Surely it's better to read the writing, it's more stimulating for children rather then having to rely on spoken word. For anyone doubting the game because of this....don't!!! I've played the first ever Sims games, The Sims 2 on Mac and My Sims on the DS.This Wii game is great, it's enjoyable with lots of great little tasks to do with exceptionally cute graphics and lots of things to find. What I liked was the ease of use within the game, some puzzles are a challenge but you quickly get the hang of things. I'm 28 so some of the puzzles are going to be more difficult for younger kids, but that will just add to the game play and help them with thinking about problem solving. I liked the fact that all your tasks are in your menu, so if you save and quit when you start up again you can be reminded of what task you need to do. There is also a list of the scrolls you need to complete and the elements needed to complete them. The maps are helpful for seeing where certain characters are on the islands. I did get stuck on a couple of occasions and looked online for help.I think this is a really quirky little game, and enjoyable for many ages. Great for kids and an easy and enjoyable game for adults who like non-pressure games that are easy on the eye.

I loved the first MySims for Wii, it was so innocent and hours of fun. I particularly liked its versatility in furniture designs and the loveable characters that link with the DS version, and this new MySims does not disappoint! We have more adorable characters, with some characters coming along from the original like Chef Gino and Buddy. This game focuses much less on building furniture and more on a variety of challeneges. The gameplay is less linear than the first one and with less repetition. In this game, once you've learnt to build say, a sofa, you can build as many as you like instantly, without needed to put all the blocks together again. There are some lovely touchs like being able to mill flour in the machine you just fixed or ride he mechanical bull you powered with gears etc. And all of it gives you essences. Challenges vary from fixing machines with cogs and belts, to building things, to painting and furnishing. There are several different lands, collecting essences is more fun and easier, the idea of mana adds to the challenge and the animations are more fun than ever. Even the loading screens are worth watching!Overall, a really nice improvement on the original and definitely worth a go if you liked the first one. Or even if you never played it but you like the concept.

You play a magician - the training part of the game takes a while, but shows you how to use all the tools you will need on a fun gentle way. Aimed at kids, but fun for adults who dont want too much sudden moving or races against time. I havent done many of the puzzles yet, but definately enjoying the game so far.Update: my friends 9 and 12 year old boys have just started to play it - they quickly became obsessed and claim it is now their favourite Wii game. I have been very impressed at how the puzzles require them to think about tools, raw materials and how to get them as well as how to actually solve the puzzle. The puzzles may be a burst pipe, scattered cattle where a fence broke, people whose homes have collapsed etc. The player then has to gather their stuff, and come back to solve the actual puzzle. They are finding it both great fun, and veru educational - just as well there are 3 save games so we don't have to fight over whose game it is!

I bought this game for my 8yr old daughter who has learning difficulties and can't read. She loved it and is slowly meandering through islands across the kingdom, completing tasks and gaining king points. She needs adult support to help her read but is learing about watering plants, milling flour and the use of gears in machinery as she goes. Her grandma (60 years her senior) has been helping and enjoyed it so much I bought it for her too.Now my mum and my daughter enjoy playing together and seperately, chatting on the phone about problems and how to overcome them. I think it's amazing that a computer game can engage young and old alike and the fact that your little character progresses faster if they bother to chat to (and be nice to)other characters is an additional teaching aid for a child with limited social understanding. Who says computer games aren't educational...?

This game may be marketed for children but the youngest enjoying the game in our household is 15!I think the criticisms that I have are the characters' voices which are very annoying, however that is easily solved by turning off the sound on the TV.While it hasn't proved a problem for us due to the player's ages, I think younger children would find all the conversations and instructions hard to read. The words used would likely suit a competent reader of around 10+ years. Also some of the items needed to complete each quest are very hard to know where to find. I admit to looking on the cheats from the internet for two or three! That said I have gone on to complete the game once (after around 35-40hrs playing time)and am on my second run made different by going to different places first etc. In all a very enjoyable and fun game.

I'm about half way through this game now and can't stop playing it! Even though I don't find this game challenging, I've not been bored of it once (I'm 19). The controls are simple, and the characters are all very different and lovable (my favourite has to be Buddy!). You can customise your own character, and as the game progresses, you unlock new outfits etc. You are even able to choose your own voice! With regards to the speech in the game, as was said before, it is standard for all Sims games. I don't feel that it is at all irritating. If you want a good, simple yet addictive game then this is for you. As I mentioned, I'm 19 and love this game though it is aimed at a much younger audience!Great fun and a nice way to relax and keep you occupied. Would definitely recommend.

this game is so good!honestly if you ever played the original my sims then this is a very good next in line game. its very different to the original game. in the original it was quite like the sims games previously released by EA games. with obvious differences that made it a lot better in my opinion. However in this edition there is more of a storyline as you progress through this kingdom having to complete tasks to an end goal rather than the much more laid back approach.I love the original set up of doing what you wanted but i also love this game as its totally different and works really well with all the new characters, worlds and actions you can do. definitely worth the money!!!

Having been addicted to "Animal Crossing" for months, and to "Harvest Moon" for weeks, my daughter has now moved onto "MySims Kingdom". It has better graphics than those other games and harder challenges. As well as fishing and finding stuff, MySims Kingdom involves the player having to construct buildings and create machines - all of which require thought and planning. It's quite challenging and even educational to some extent - though I wouldn't let my daughter rewire the house on the basis of her wiring schemes for this game !. If your child likes "Animal Crossing" or "Harvest Moon" or similar games he/she will probably love this.

I bought this for my 7 year old Daughter and she loves it! She has many video games and this is by far her favourite - she gives it 100/10!As others have mentioned, the instructions on screen need to be read by the user. However, I see this as an advantage as it helps my daughter's reading skills.Very cute, colourful game with various places to visit and tasks to complete. My 7 year old has been able to play this game with no help. The user can choose their own character and make changes to it as and when required. Well recommended.Ordered through Amazon and delivered very quickly, as always. Very good price too.

Alot of fun. Not easy to find all the items - had to cheat a bit! Much quicker on the loading screens than MySims Wii. If you like designated quests, this is a good game. If you prefer to do your own thing in your own time, then you may prefer MySims. The camera angles when constructing are difficult and unclear at times, you end up walking through the objects you construct, and I found that rather frustrating. Also, building a two storey object is hampered by lack of good viewing of the roof. Apart from that, the characters are a lot of fun, you get to hear alot more simlish, and the ideas are fresh and enchanting.

I rarely write reviews but had to express my opinions on this game....im 25 and absolutely LOVE this game. its addictive, at some points challenging and so innocent. im not a huge fan of the sims games but this really has me hooked. its easy to get the hang of the controls and soon becomes second nature.i would not recommend this for a child younger then good reading age, as there is alot of read and is essential to keep up with that your being told.im so hooked ive gone on to buy my sims agents.

This is a very cute game for sims fans. More childlike cartoon caracters than original sims. A nice fairy tale story set around a king and princess with lots of problems to solve and quests to complete. Great for children but not so much for an adult, i found it much to easy and progressed through the game at rapid speed meaning it didnt take long to complete. My 7 year old loves it.

Ordered from we_aint_got_no_money_honey on Sunday eve.It was dispatched next day and arrived Wednesday.Well packaged and in VGC as advertised.Works perfectly.I do not see the point in spending 5 times as much for a new one.My daughter is very pleased and at this rate she can frequently afford to buy a new game out of her pocket money!

Brought for my wife who loved My Sims & Castaway. She is never off the game and thinks it's the best so far. She thinks the new features are great and even when you complete the game you can go back and visit the islands to do additional tasks.Great price as well.
