I remember ‘My Little Pony’, they were cute little plastic ponies that had long hair and a little symbol on them donating who they were. What I don’t remember is Pony/Human hybrids or My Little Sea Ponies. Welcome to the modern world of ‘My Little Pony’ and a brand that has broken out from its 80s restraints. Amongst the spin offs is a movie about sea ponies – at least that’s what I imagine that the film is going to be about if the toys are going to make any sense at all.The ‘Seashell Lagoon Playset’ is an impressive one, you get a sort of underwater lair that Pinkie Pie (the sea pony) lives in. It takes a few moments to construct, but is easy to do.Once in place it stands on its own and can be folded into itself so that it does not take up too much space. There are lots of small bits of furniture and accessories to play with including a sink and some underwater snacks. The small pieces do mean that the 3+ recommended age is right as you want to ensure your child does not put the small snacks in particular into their mouth.Like with so many modern playsets, there is a little extra than just a house. As this is an underwater adventure you can recreate this by filling up a small part of the set with water. This gives the impression of having a window of water you can peer through. This is simple, but great fun. To add to the splendour you can switch on a light that reflects in the water or press a pearl to create bubbles. This is not mind blowing stuff, but is a nice extra that will spark a child’s imagination.The entire ‘Seashell Lagoon Playset’ is designed with the characters from the Movie in mind and not any normal Little Ponies you have lying around. Pinkie Pie and any additional friends you purchase have a tail and not feet. This means that she can stand on her own, but is not as sturdy as her four hooved counterparts. This is annoying when the characters is out of the playset, but the toy itself has been designed with them in mind with lots of things that fit her body so she can sit in them or hook on. In all, a fun toy that will spark underwater imagination as long as the Sea Pony is not flat on her face.

I was really excited to be picked to review and try out this toy as my 6 year old daughter is a massive MLP fan. Initial impressions were good, It comes in a big box and is easy to remove and set up. The set itself is quite chunky and sturdy which is in complete contrast to all other MLP sets we've had and i can see this one lasting much longer and being passed on.Once the batteries are inserted you can press the button and light up the little aquarium bit. Even better you can add water to this and when you push the light button you create bubbles as well. This entertained my daughter and her friends for ages and the novelty hasn't worn off even after a few weeks of play.The set comes withquite a few accessories which my daughter loved as she brought out all her other ponies to play in this new playset. Its a good job she had these though as the seashell lagoon only comes with the pinkie pie seapony. Annoyingly there is a cardboard cutout of a second seapony which got my daughter all excited and i think this is really poor on the part of the manufacturers. At this price point a second seapony should be included but this is honestly the only thing i could fault this product on.All in all the best MLP playset we've had and it has a real wow factor for anyone looking a great Christmas present for a My Little Pony fan.

First impression from a grown up its a colourful amount of plastic for a fair amount of cash, but as I’m not the one who’s going to be playing with it, I don’t count.This is for my niece, I know she like Little Pony and has a number of small figures, thought she may just like this.The joy for a grown up is see a face light up when they open a parcel, its why I love Christmas day, the joy of watching a child see a gift that I know they want its amazing.My nieces face was a picture, If a smile could light up a room hers would have lit a whole street, she loves it.The lagoon has door that open, swings, tables and a lot more, it comes with Pinkie Pie as a sea pony, requires 4 AA batteries for the lights etc.Its a good size,big enough for it to be played with, small enough to pop in a cupboard when not being played, measures 11.5 x 45.5 x 38 cm.There’s a bit of assembly required, very simple and clear instructions, took no more than five minutes.A perfect gift for any My little Pony fan, lovely colours, lots of fun

Two major appeals for my 6 yo MLP fan. A) has water. B) has lights. Of course the lure of MLP is naturally there as she's a big fan, the colour obviously aesthetically pleases her. But essentially the makers here got two major wins in a simplistic idea. Put water and light in an already popular theme and you have this major appeal going on.As someone else has already pointed out, it's not mind-blowing, it's plastic colours with a plastic horse that has colours in its hair and goes by the name of Pinkie Pie. The genius here really is that where in the 80s I simply had the ponies, there's now some other weird and wonderful world attached that appeals to the little girlies of today.This is brilliant for them.It's not flimsy like some of the other merchandise, it's easy to assemble and doesn't cost the earth in replacement (AA) batteries. It's a decent size, but small enough that you don't need to build an extension to house it when they're not playing. I'm pretty sure this toy will remain a favourite in our house.

This is keeping my daughter at bay until the new My Little Pony Movie is released later on this month.She is absolutely itching to see the ponies underwater (being mermaid-like) and this toy coming into my house is making her more excited.She absolutely loves the Pinkie Pie with a tail and hasn't stopped playing with it since it arrived.Its nice and colourful, bright and actually looks quite good. It is mostly together in the box but like with most toys still requires some assembly. It is very basic and quick to set up.It is also sturdier than I thought it was going to be.Very pleased with the quality of this toy.However I have marked it down because the price is currently £36.99 and this is pretty much the same across toy shops.I think its very expensive for what it is.I have noticed that MLP toys have gone up money wise in general this year, I assume because of the film release. I wouldn't pay more than £20 for this though if I happened to be paying for it.

Bright and colourful, what's a child not going to like about this? Comes in a large box, well packaged for protection. Inside you'll find the play set, a pony figure (Pinky Pie as a sea pony), and various accessories to help spark a kid's imagination: dressing table with mirror, table and various other trinkets.My daughter loved it straight away because its just so colourful. She loves the light-up aquarium part (so do I) - pressing the button will cause the area to light up, and you can add water to create bubbles which is a delightful feature.It's fairly sturdy, but like most things will break if a child is too heavy-handed with it. Also, it only comes with one figure which is a bit of a shame.I would have thought it would at least come with two.A great hit with my daughter, she adores making up underwater adventures for Pinky Pie, and I'm sure she'll play with it for ages.

This is a great My Little Pony set that is linked to the new movie. It comes with a Pinkie Pie with a movable mermaid tail that allows her to stand firmly if wanted. It also comes with various other accessories for Pinkie Pie like a table, cup cakes, a crown and necklace. The box shows an Applejack toy, but this does not actually come with it. There are two big compartments which have room for the ponies, but they don't really shut very well and they don't particularly feel very high quality. However, the best thing about this toy is the fact that you can add water. The water is added to a clear compartment and when a button is pressed bubbles move to the surface. There are also blue lights that can be activated.This toy is so bright and colourful and has lots of play value, providing hours of entertainment for my daughter.

A great toy which is aimed at young girls based on the very popular my little pony characters. Wonderful looking playset beutifully brightly coloured, comes unasembled, however the assembly is actually minimal.is easy to assemble. Quality chunky construction which is rugged and wonderful to play with, featuring separate my little pony inspired characters. There is a small water tank which can be filled to create bubbles through and lights also, this requires a set of 4 x AA batteries (included) which need to be factored in to allow full functionality.A quality Hasbro manufactured toy, pricewise its not bad perhaps £5-£10 reduction in pirce would make this a very attractive purchase and a much apreciated playset,which I would say any young girl would be thrilled to receive.

If Christmas is coming and you know someone who loves My Little Pony then this 'My Little Pony The Movie Seashell Lagoon Playset is a brilliant present.After an Octopus' garden (in or out of the rain) and Spongebob's Bikini Bottom this seashell lagoon set is a winnerAfter the big attraction of the My Little Pony with Pinkie Pie the sea pony there is the added magic of lights, water and bubbles.It is an absolute winner of a toy.My advice is to get a couple of Pinkie Pie's friends to join her in her exploits so Pinks (as I call her) will not be so lonely.If you are an Aunt, Uncle or a Grand Parent your star will be elevated to the heavens in the view of the child that receives this as a gift.

This is a lovely my little pony set, as usual it's plasticy but sturdy and very brightly coloured. It's simple and quick to put together out if the box.My 3 year old daughter loves it and it's a nice addition to her my little pony collection and a great tie in to her current fixation on mermaids. We've got mermaids having tea with ponies....it's all going on!The set has plenty of bits and pieces of furniture to position around and the light with the water feature is a really nice section. My daughter's face lot to when she first saw it.A really nice set which I'd recommend for any avid my little pony fan. There's some small bits to it so I'd recommend for slightly older toddlers and above.

What a lovely box full of fun for any little one who loves the My Little Pony toys or movie. It is quite intricate with lots of bits of undersea scenery - including oysters with pearls, cupcakes jewels, seaweed and a Pinky Pony. There is even a section you can fill with water so your little one has her own piece of sea - complete with bubbles. There is absolutely hours of imaginative fun to be had. I think, though, that Pinky would benefit from having a few pony friends. This would make a superb Christmas gift for the little one in your life. Mine is already sqirrelled away for my granddaughter and her parents are going to get Pinky some friends to play with too.

This toy has proved to be such a hit with my 3 year old My Little Pony crazy goddaughter. She couldn't wait to get the box open and start playing. The set has loads in it, plenty of buttons to push and little extra features. I believe there are other sets that you can purchase to add on to this set, which would be nice - it would be useful to have more ponies.All in all, a lovely toy - the reason I gave 4 stars is because I do think it's expensive for what it is. But, I guess most 'in' toys are overpriced!

I brought this for My 5 year old daughter for Christmas, to be honest I thought it was going to look rubbish and be tiny so I brought it when it went on sale for £13.99 and I'm very happy I did. Its alot bigger than what I thought as it comes in a huge box folded out, my daughter is going to love it, pinkie pie is included and she's £8 on her own so bargain... Wish I would have brought her this set before I brought her pinkie pie separately lol but I think my daughter will just say its her sister.. X

This is a lovely set which ties in well with the My Little Pony movie. It is sturdy and brightly coloured and we had no trouble putting it together.My niece has loved playing with it and loves using her ponies within the toy.The light and water feature part of the toy works well and has been very popular.I do think it is a little expensive for what it is but you do pay for popular ranges of toys!

I think this is a must have for any girl who loves my little pony! It’s a well made solid toy, unlike similar items I have bought before. The light up and bubble feature is a fantastic added extra. My daughter has literally played with it for hours on end! The only downside is your daughter will want you to buy all the collectible items which go with it - and there are quite a few! Best get saving up!
