This cup is the the best for the older toddler and preschooler who needs to use a more grown up cup system but at the same time, keep the drink contained thanks to an ingenious silicone vacuum lid. It takes a few goes to get right but in the end it's brilliant. My three year old is not so good at keeping drinks in a real cup- she likes to make puddles or baths for her dollies given the chance. A compromise was needed, experts recommend they use a proper cup for fear of poor mouth development, and the sports bottles she would just tip over, this cup requires pressure and suction to release the liquid and is better for the facial and oral muscles. She loved the colour (pink)and was confused at first of how to access the water thinking she had to suck the spout-like protusion until she got the hang of it after a few more goes with better instruction. My best advice is show the child yourself how to hold the cup in their mouth (my daughter wasn't closing her lips effectively) then tell the child to put their lips on the cup and say 'mmmm' then suck, the 'mmm' ensures they are applying enough pressure to create a seal that the suction is effective.Otherwise it's super easy to clean and doesn't spill, it's great that I can trust I won't turn my back for a few seconds to find toys floating in the dipped corners of her little table and I don't feel I'm infantilising her or risking get development with a sippy cup designed for much younger children. They're so good I'm buying more and a few of the trainer beakers when her baby sister gets old enough for a sippy.

The good point is that it IS spill proof .The concept in itself is great. It's easy to clean and it looks nice .... but my 19 month old twins don't " get it ".They can drink from cups , anything with a spout or a teat but I'm looking for sth when out and about that allows them to be independent, and - well, dry.It looks like a cup but it's not a cup and they're confused by the " lid ". I'm sure once they've understood it , it's great but at the moment it's just a useless cup for us .The idea of this cup is great , but if it doesn't work for the end user then obviously it isn't perfect .I hope they'll eventually get over this novel approach to a drink/ cup and will take to it,because I would purchase more of these .At the moment it's just a disappointment/EDITThis was delivered on Wednesday and now on Sunday they've finally understood the concept and drink from it fine . It took quite a bit of perseverance and bribing to make it happen

Brillian cup;fantastic design and idea as develops a childs ability to use a 'normal' cup in the future. My nephew is almost 2 now and handles a normal cup really well. The ONLY grudge I have is that although it doesn't leak when used, I always place the cup in a plastic bag with a square of kitchen towel on the top when I take it out in the baby bag and the towel is always wet when I take it out. Also, if the child drops it on the floor, which they invariably do....or sometimes throw it (on purpose - grrrr), then it does splatter juice/water quite a distance so don't expect the leak proofness (?!) to work any other time than drinking. The design itself is good and comes apart for cleaning really easily....the top silicone part comes away from the white screw in part, and theres nothing in the cup itself to take apart. There aren't any nooks and crannies for nasties to hide, so as long as it's cleaned with soap and water, you're fine.

This product is a staple in our household now since I first gave it to my daughter when she was 7 months (she's now 18 months). Easy to get the lid on and off for the parent, and baby quickly understands the concept. Challenges for me are that when dropped (often!) it does leak an amount of water on impact. Also, because of the size, when there is liquid in there it's quite heavy so it did take a couple of months for my daughter to be able to handle it sufficiently well to tip it up. But in terms of longevity, I'm seriously impressed. They go through the dishwasher at least once a day and haven't tarnished or discoloured. When dishwashing, because of the shape of the lid,you need to find exactly the right spot to actually wash it, otherwise water gets caught in the top where baby drinks from (I wedge the lid on its side which seems to get the job done).

I bought this for my granddaughter who is just shy of 19 months. It is a vibrant and distinct colour which I believe will not fade in dishwasher. The lid section screws into place. It is NOT leak proof but when tested, laying on its side the was a very small drip which repeated again when left sitting. The drip was very small and slow enough that in most instances, in our lifestyle, the cup would be upright again in time to prevent another drip.I shook the cup quite vigorously and there was no escape of the liquid within. Water! My princess is able to hold the cup and use it very easily. The flow when she sucked upon it is such that she swallows easily and does not become either overwhelmed or at risk of choking.Overall, good comparative value, tough enough to survive drops and will do the job required for a decent amount of time.

These cups are fab, we have a 6 and 2 year old so have used these for a few years now. The only drink bottles that have lasted being dropped, thrown and do not get mould build up due to how well everything comes apart to clean without silly little nooks and crannies that are impossible to wash. As soon as our kids have been old enough to drink water they have been given these cups, non spill and much better for the teeth. Seen a few questions asking how to encourage their child to use it, we usually start off with a normal cup (no lid) filled with a small bit of water so they can get the hang of sipping this way.

fantastic cup, bought to replace the one with the handle as my little boy now likes holding the cup on it's own this really helps with getting used to holding a normal cup and he can now confidently hold and take a drink from a big boys cup without spilling (although he doesn't use them all the time) i think this cup is great as they are getting a feel for a proper rim as apposed to a spout so when they move on from these they are used to the feel of a proper cup,as for being non spill if they are dropped form height ie thrown for highchair they do splash out the juice all in all a great cup

I don't understand...how anyone can't use this cup. I'm a bit more worried about the parents who are struggling than their children but seriously guys, if you're a human and you drink like one...you'll get on with this. My 9 month old picked it up in seconds. Unless I have a super genius...I dunno. We'll see.On another note we noticed that as she got older our child worked out how to pick the valve back which causes the drink to come out. Something to watch out for. Only if you can drink from it from the first place though...Overall a really good transition cup for a baby.

Was using Tommee Tippee sippy cups until our son hit about 1yr 10months old and was:a) Always asking for a refill, so needed bigger capacity.b) Showing signs of wanting to drink from a big cup, so no spout or handles.BUT, he was still a little clumsy so needed a spill proof solution. This cup nailed it! He loves it! Took a few attempts to show him how to use it, now its his go-to cup!Bought 4 of these up to now - totally diswasherable - so far, and dismantles into 3 pieces for nice deep cleaning in all its nooks and crannies. Cant recommend highly enough.

Seriously BEST cup ever!Really is non spill, toddler leaves tipped upside down in bed all night and not a single drop! He struggled drinking from it at first but I kept at it and he got the hang of it and likes it as it's not fast slow it like drinking from a real beaker. Also stops there teeth going funny from bottles or beaker spouts! Also I found from non spill cups they has some sort of stop plug in them which in the end became manky as you can't clean it properly even in the dish washer, so put me off but this has nothing like that! JUST FAB!!!!

I bought this for my 1 year old took a bit of getting used to for him had to show him and press it down but he got the hang of it but my 3 year old enjoys it more it's really good doesn't leak unless my 1 year old throws it on the floor really hard then a bit comes out which is to be expected temper tantrums are here already lol but it's brilliant in a backpack and when my 3 year old is running around and not concentrating doesn't spill at all which is fantastic and you can tip it upside down and stays leak free

An ideal cup for young children. The cup gives the illusion of drinking from an adults cup with the safety of not seeing the drink disappear onto the tiles or carpet. This cup was easy enough for my 16 month old to hold, albeit she did need to grip with both hands. It released a manageable amount of drink each time and she has been smiling after every sip.The colour is as bright as the photo and taking apart to clean has been easy. I love the fact it is dishwasher safe (top shelf) to speed up cleaning times.

A brilliant idea for transitioning babies from a bottle to a cup. Children can drink from it lying down (if they used to take a bottle at bedtime), and it is easy to drink from. Took away a star as you have to close it just so and make sure that there is a good seal in the top silicone bit as otherwise, the drink will leak out. It is a bit fiddly, but once you get the knack of it, much easier to clean and maintain than using a straw bottle. We have 3 of these in different colours as my little one loves them.

I bought this cup for my 15 month old son, already having had it recommended to me by several people. I can safely say I was not disappointed. My son has just gotten used to using a straw and thought I would try him with this cup. Within seconds of giving the cup to him, he was happily drinking water from it!! I love the fact that it is non-spill as well and I send it with him when he goes to childcare during the week! Amazing product, easy to use, easy to clean and would recommend for any child!!!

Brilliant at stopping everyday spills, although obviously not 100% leak proof as the liquid has to get out somehow. Very easy to hold so a useful stepping stone to a regular cup. The sipping valve design is really clever and will keep liquid in even when held upside down. Extremely easy to clean - although remembering to take the valve apart when cleaning is absolutely essential. The valve easily pops off and back on again though so no problem. These are so handy that we have 4 of them on rotation!
