Not sure about this but I've been using the older model EVERYDAY for the last 5 years. No kidding. Brought this as a backup but the old one is still going strong. All I can say is that I prefer the old design mechanically.

It's too bad that they are so hard to get now. They are so convenient. I keep it in my purse and use it instead of the fast food plastic. It certainly cuts down on the need for plastic waste.

I love that these forks are so lightweight and portable. I keep it in my purse so that I can avoid taking plastic at fast food places.
