I ordered the MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon for my first PC build. I was definitely impressed. Originally I wanted a cheap motherboard with 2 DDR4 RAM slots and 2 PCI-E ports. However, as I was preparing for VR I bought this motherboard as it had DisplayPort and HDMI. That was my bad, as with computers (provided they have one) the display comes out of the graphics card, coincidentally, that is also an MSI Graphics Card - and a different review entirely - so instead of a cheap motherboard with just enough, I got a nice well built motherboard for that little bit more. Some features of the motherboard:• 4 DDR4 RAM slots, 64GB of memory• 2 Reinforced (Steel Armor)PCI-E 3.0 Slots• 1 Standard PCI-E 3.0 Slot• RGB Light• 8th Gen Processor support (in mine)• Audio Boost• Faster SSD data transfer• Lightning USB• M.2 ShieldThe first thing I noticed with the motherboard was how nicely it was built. The IO-Shield is lovely and the huge board had a great design where needed and lots of ports. Due to it being an ATX Board it was huge, also useful in my circumstances.Out of the box it has 2 sata cables, ties for cable management, sata cable lables to oranise and some other cables. After simply installing the CPU, I installed the fan. Then I mounted the motherboard which was extremely easy because it's just standard standoffs, and screws. I plugged in the cables, built the rest and installed the drivers and software online (it comes with a disc, I just lack a disc drive).Since then, it's been perfect. You have 6 sata ports (more than you realistically need), 2 USB 3.0 Ports, plenty of internal USBs, there are even some RGB plugs on the board, meaning they will not all fight over the internal USBs. There are many system fan ports, from what I know at least 4, 2 CPU fan ports, even individual pump fan ports if you use liquid cooling (which I do not.)I'm very pleased with the RGB, the Mystic Light app lets you customise all of the MSI RGB products you may have. You can have different wave, star, rainbow effects etc. The colours are bright and vibrant.I also love the steel armour PCI-E ports, as it gives much less chance of the Graphics Card (or whatever may be in there) breaking when moved. And the one without armour is useful for things like wireless adaptors (what I use it for) as they have much less chance of breaking. One of the best things about it is it comes with a bridge connector. If unfamiliar, bridge connectors are used to connect graphics cards, mainly powerful ones, so you can use it to the full extent. Finally, another great thing is that all the sockets are in useful places meaning if you don't have a case with good management place, they still look good.I would recommend it,if you're looking for a high performance PC, an RGB pc, or just a pretty board. However, if you're not going to have a windowed case, go for a motherboard without RGB, if you're never going above 8gb ram, you don't need it. However, if at least one part of this board appeals, get it.Or if you're using 8th generation processors, I'd strongly recommend it as it's one of the better ones as there is much less selection. If you're not on 8th gen processors, or don't need lots of ram, or more than one HDD/SSD, or more than one PCI-E slot, just do not purchase this board. One con with the RGB is the programme can be hard to learn, and I still haven't properly, but once you find a setting you like it's nice.In conclusion, I never meant to get a board like this, but I am glad I did. Now I have much more knowledge on computers, I'm happy I bought this board as changing board is complicated. It works well, looks great, keeps cool and has plenty of room for expansion.

A fantastic board which looks great in your case.Firstly its very well built, easy to fit, comes with some SATA cables, an RGB cable, an SLI bridge, some stickers for labeling your SATA cables and a nice MSI badge. The board itself has good spacing, although some coolers may struggle due to the placement of the capacitors in the top left (just get a better cooler) and the sata ports face out sideways which is fantastic as it means they are all usable (this has been common on MSI boards for a while). There are 2 M2 Pci-e slots, use the one nearest the processor first. When slotting the ram in use the DIMMA2 slots. In terms of quality MSI really are the best, this motherboard is replacing my 2011 MSI board which has been used non stop since install and still works like new.In terms of the bios its easy to setup. When you first load in you'll notice the ram running at a lower speed, don't worry. Get into windows and get yourself setup, download the msi live update utility, download and install all the drivers, and the intel tuning utility and once installed do a restart and go into the bios. You'll then see its running at the expected speed once you have turned on xmp (big red button in bios). In summary great quality board, easy to setup, looks great, feels solid and wont let you down. Highly recommended. My install (For Info):New parts:MSI Z370 Gaming G5Intel i7 8700kCorsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 Vengeance LPX 16 GBSamsung (MZ-V6E250BW) 250GB EVO PCI Express 3.0 x4 NVMe Solid State DriveFrom old system:NZXT Phantom CaseCX750 PSUHyper Evo 212 Cooler (which despite being discontinued along time ago fits this socket)MSI R9 290X Graphics Card

Lovely Mobo for the price. Has a super sleak design With a really durable build quality. The board itself has some subtle lights that you can see if you have an open case.Has support for the latest chipset and high speed DDR4. it also doesn't have a half bad onboard soundcard either. It has plenty of connections, though i would say the fan connections could do with being placed in some better locations on the board as short wires can mean you may struggle to connect your fans up. The Cpu Locking tab is slightly more tense then what i have had on previous boards so did get a bit of a scare trying to lock it in place on my new i7. Other then that it made for a great clean and easy install and certainly an improvement on the gigabyte board i had previously. Not to mention msi bios makes for some easy Overclocking and has some great support for the board with additional programs for monitoring your computer. Would Buy again.

It is a decent enough mobo, but taken a star out and decided to post at least one short issue for overclockers that I experienced, which probably would have stopped me from buying it if I knew about it...When you push too far on VCORE or bclocks, it won't boot to even the bios, so hard bios reset with a pin is always needed to boot it to defaults againThis is a mammoth task for most, if you keep your big'n'beefy GPU card in the top slot, as it is exactly above the reset jumper.Having to take the card out every time I'd experiment with my OC and push too far will make me have to spend like 10-15 minutes to reset and put back together. I would now pay a bit more for this decently priced mobo to have an external reset switch at the back, like most decent mobos do!Overall though - not a bad board thus far and been working well otherwise

Does what it needs to, doesn't have a lot of added features but if all you're looking for is a motherboard to support your coffelake processor and has the option of allowing overclocking there's not much sense in blowing money on something else.If like me, you have a tempered glass case, or windowed case, its not the worst looking board, but does lack RGB or even some nice accented areas, but you can always just add RGB strips to the case and forget about that stuff.so if you're trying to stick to a budget and don't want to overspend, buy this no questions asked. but if you're trying to build a show piece for your office, and want to show of the masterpiece you spent your money on in an Instagram post, spend a little more and get the added features you'll be missing out on with this.

Bought the motherboard back in November for the I7-8700K to replace an older Haswell build. Box was a little damaged in the corner but the motherboard was fine inside. Was pretty straight forward to set it up and get it all working. Overclocking on it is relatively straightforward and am happily overclocking it to 4.8 GHz using the command centre application. The WiFi card is great and much faster/reliable than my old WiFi card that I was using before. The bundled sli bridge was quite useful too and was neater than the old one I was using previously. So yeah, works well, easy to make any changes I need to with it, so very happy.

Great Motherboard with a really nice black sleek look,I use this board with the i7-8700 and ddr4 ram and It works great,The packaging was secure and tight, It came in a anti-static bag which was good. It came with a manual aswell.Installation was easy if you've installed motherboards before. It comes with the normal screw for attaching it to the case and securing it.It was lots of really nice ports on the back, Including new type-c and plently of USB ports. aswell as a onboard hdmi for intergrated graphics.Overall I definitly recommned getting this board for the 8th gen CPU support and well as great price.

Bought it for a new Machine. Supports the newest Intel 8th generation, highest speed DDR4, SLI, bundled wireless card and lots more.Lots of connectors with excellent slot spacing. Bios is pretty good (confusing at the start), with easy to use overclocking options and good feedback/diagnostic tools. My new case (Fractal Design Meshify C) has tempered glass on the side, so the RGB colors (rainbow effect) looks nice.Rest of the machine is: i7-8700k, 1070 MSI gaming X and 16GB 3000-DDR4Highly Recommend.

Extremely satisfied by the delivery. Had a small issue with a missing item in the box but the seller was very helpful in getting things sorted for me so many thanks to them (CCL computers). Performance, looks and stability are a 10/10 for me. Got my new 8700K running like a charm on Win 10. I highly recommend this board considering it's also cheaper than some of the competition but sits comfortably alongside the top end motherboards.

Bought a pair of these for an office/cad setup. They have yet to have any issues, UEFI is a little messy compared to some but PWM fan ramps work perfectly. PC is silent at idle and steadily ramps up as things heat up.RGB lighting is nice but for some reason MSI have an awful interface for it.Boots lightning fast from 860 EVO m.2, usb 3.1 g1/2 speeds are reliable and not had any dropouts.

Always liked MSI Stuff and this is just what I wanted. Seemless instalation, seamless integration, with other components. Loving the on board graphics. No need for 3rd party graphics cards. Audio is noisy, compared to old MSI mobo I have but good enough, if you pay attention to earthing. So. So far so good. Software apps that came with it, are a bit full of their own importance. :)

At first the overclocking was damn poor on this board. But then I updated the BIOS and it blew me away. I have my 2400mhz ram running at 3200mhz stable. CPU overclocking is a breeze although in automatic mode it pushes the voltage to nearly 1.5v which is dangerously high in my opinion. RGB is amazing. Everything else about this board is amazing.

28.8.2018

To put it simply, it is a very fancy and affordable gaming motherboard. When purchasing it make sure it supports the correct socket for CPU.has some lights on it that light up and its BIOS is highly gaming based and has all you need to help you out like a game mode or RGB settings!

I searched for this MB in Germany, I couldn't find it, or it was very expensive but in Amazon UK I found it and much cheaper by us in Germany. I now the Brand MSI and I had always very good experiences wirh this Brand.

Well, it works! And 8700K works on it too. Actually at 4.8ghz but maybe there will be more:)Stable. Has light. Plenty of fan connectors. Looks awesome. Uefi/BIOS is confusing little as I came from Asus Uefis.
