I have to say that this motherboard is great, from the moment of opening the box I knew this was a quality product from how sturdy and heavy this was. Also looks good as well, everything laid out really well with great positioning of all of sockets for the various components. From doing my research on affordable but good quality motherboard this board came up again and again as being head and shoulders about all products at this price range (and quite a few above) and I managed to get this for a cracking price as well being around black friday so it made the decision even easier.Boy was I glad I went for it it as well, from the start of installing this it was fantastic. The only point of frustration was mounting the cpu cooler, this I found overly difficult and fiddly to do on my own, and felt like i could do with another pair of hands, but was still able to get the mounting hardware secured within 10 minutes or so - this would be the thing I would say need to be improved. As mentioned above the motherboard looks great, and I was then further blown away that RGB lighting was included under the motherboard that is controllable via software and something you can extend with a wide range of other products from the standard light strips to pc cases to memory, fans, keyboards, mice etc.... the list goes on.After everything was installed I booted it all up and everything just worked. Bios interface looks great, and is easy to use with a good amount of information on most settings available and all pretty easy to navigate with your mouse. Once a few settings were change selected to boot into windows and again everything just worked and work a treat and so fast - may have just been imagining it but am sure it was so much faster than my previous setup (was using an i5 4th Gen before now switched to a Ryzen 3600).I know I've said this a couple of times now but I really am blown away and there is nothing that i regret about getting this motherboard it really does live up to all the glowing reviews online.Would buy this again no questions asked

I'm using this as part of a Ryzen 3600 / RX 5700 XT build. So far I'm quite impressed. For a motherboard at less than 100 pounds it offers a lot of value. The main points I like are the 6 total fan headers and integrated RGB LEDs with two 12V headers for connecting other RGB components, which worked out of the box with my fans.I had heard that there were BIOS issues with this line of boards but those seem to have been ironed out - start up times are snappy and I have had no issues with it recognising any other computer components. The BIOS itself is reasonably easy to navigate, although I found that some of the wording can be a bit misleading or vague, such as 'system information'bringing up a page that deals with fan control. This is a minor complaint and overall I have found the BIOS to work as described, with the advantage that it has guaranteed support for 2nd gen Ryzen and regular updates that seem to address issues fairly quickly. If I had to give a negative I would say that the front panel connections are awkwardly placed and needlessly spread out. The audio connector is at the rear, the USB 3.0 header is toward the front, and the power switch connector is slap bang in the middle. This can make cable management a little messy if your case has a PSU shroud with only a few holes to allow the cables through.I've also noticed a couple of minor glitches such as the RGB settings taking a minute or so to kick in after boot (it defaults to red and can take a while to remember that you might have custom lighting set up) and the fans sometimes getting stuck at 70% for a similar amount of time. I've never had a motherboard that was 100% minor-issue-free and this is no exception, but nothing game-breaking has happened as yet.Recommended purchase if you're after a good-value Zen 2 motherboard and feel like an X570 would be overkill.

Well here's the basics:-It's organised with a great layout-It's quick-It's works like a charmWhen I bought this it was because i wanted to make a completely new PC. I was really regretting my decision, I had seen lots of guide's and all of them looked pretty complicated, and the worst thing was, every other motherboard was different. This motherboard saved my life. Everything was in a logical place and where it should have been places, and for a beginner, this was the best decision I made. I don't regret anything. The BIOS was ultra simple. I was expecting to have to navigate with my keyboard to select which drive to launch by, to figure out the control's. None of that at all.It just prompted me to connect a USB or connect a drive and once I did that, in just a few minutes it installed my windows OS onto the drive I was using. It even has a designated "Flash BIOS" button, which sped up the process tenfold. The capability of this amazing motherboard exceeds what others could do. It could even do 64 gigabytes of ram with the latest Ryzen processor. It blew me away and exceeded anything I thought could have bought instead of this mind-blowing MSI creationI would definitely choose if I was a beginner (which I was) or if i was an expert. Whenever I need a great motherboard with the best value for money, I will definitely go for this. If I was you, I would get this.

Compatible with a Ryzen 3700x out of the box. Easy to use for a first time PC builder. All the parts are clearly labelled. Came with 2 SATA cables and and IO shield (which i wasn't expecting). CPU was easy to install and by default, it was compatible with the 3700x stock cooler so just had to clamp that on. All the connectors were in good positions and the graphics card i bought (msi 2070 super gaming x trio), even though its one of the bigger /heavier ones, is secured nicely by the motherboard /case.Once built, i did have a few issues with the PC not booting the first time you power it on (had to power on a couple of times). I changed a couple of elements in the bios (UEFI).Also disabled windows fast-boot and re-installed the graphics drivers. Not sure what the issue was, or if it was a combination of things but it seems to have worked. You also have to enable XMP in the bios to get the most out of your RAM. Do your research online and you should be ok. The BIOS itself is easy to navigate. The RGB on the motherboard is minimal but fine. I've got 3 MSI devices in my setup and the all appear in Dragon Center to control RGB etc.I've not tired overclocking yet so can't comment on that.All-in-all, very pleased i purchased this motherboard. Particularly because it's very good value.

After my old computer died, I needed a new one and this time I was finally going to build it myself. I haven't been researching computer building for a few years now so I had to do some researching so I could find the most popular and best motherboard for 2019 and a good price for it.I came across MSI B450 Tomahawk and I was amazed by the price of it as a whole. This motherboard offers so much for the price and you literally can't get anything better. MSI loves to added little touches onto their products just to make it look more pleasant. The RGB lights are a nice touch on, it gives many people the ability to make their build look nicer and show it off more pleasant. The motherboard itself,it came in perfect condition and everything was working. The manual was super helpful and very clear on how to install it. It has lots of diagrams and pictures to help you see what you need to do. Overall, it was a very easy motherboard to install and I was pleasant with the outcome. You are literally getting so much for the cheap price, I would not expect to get anything else near this price from any other manufacturers. I defiantly recommend this to anyone who is trying to build a PC for the first time or just looking to do an upgrade who are on a budget!

I was originally going to wait to see if the B550 chipset-based boards materialised, but I am not a patient man and as it turns out, there was no need to wait anyway. These MAX versions of MSI's B450 motherboards are all you need to run the newer 3000 series processors. It will even support the monstrous 16c/32t chips. I opted for a lowly 3600 and the Tomahawk MAX runs it like a dream. The BIOS is much easier to navigate than my previous board (an old Z77 relic). It also has USB Gen 2 connectors (Type-A and Type-C). Noice! If I had one complaint, it would be that the USB 3 header is placed on the bottom of the board. This makes it impossible to route the notoriously cumbersome USB 3 cable up from beneath the PSU shroud (in my Define R6 case).I had to leave it stretching across from the hard drive cage, which is a little unsightly. Maybe there is a better way to do it? It would be nice if the port sat at a right angle to the board, so you could simply connect the cable from either below or the side (the way the block of four SATA ports are designed). Not a big deal, really. All in all, if you want a board for a 3000 series build and you don't need PCI-E 4.0 (you probably don't), just get this.

For my new build, I was looking for a motherboard that was somewhat future proof. With the exciting news that B450 motherboards will support the next generation of Ryzen CPU's, albeit in a very unorthodox way, this was perfect. I spent much time researching each individual component for my PC and the Tomahawk Max was consistently the highest rated and most popular of the B450 motherboards and for obvious reason. I've been using it for over a week now and it's been a dream to work with. There's also the comfort of knowing that down the line, I can replace the Ryzen 3600 with a 3950X and shouldn't experience any issues. As a first time builder, the entire experience of installing the components was quite daunting but it's a very straightforward installation. Paired with a Ryzen 3600 out of the box. Be sure to update the necessary drivers to avoid running into any problems and be aware that if installing an M.2, you will lose 2 of the 6 available SATA ports but this wasn't an issue for me as I opted to go with SSD drives. The motherboard itself looks great, performs flawlessly and is very reasonably priced for what it offers. Highly recommended!!

First of all, this motherboard is the best motherboard I have used ever as a result of the EZ mode in the bios which made things such as the XMP extremely easy as it was just a 1 click and then my ram ran at 3200mhz. Another thing I love about this motherboard is the hardware monitor which made it easy to recognize the one memory stick that was not placed in properly, this got rid of the anxiety of building a pc as a first time builder. However, i found the bios update quite challenging as I was searching through the bios mindlessly and probably without the help of a friend I would have not updated the bios however the bios update was not necessary as it was already the Max version which was suitable for my CPU which was the Ryzen 5 3600x.As a first time builder,I would recommend everyone to go with a Tomahawk Max as its extremely easy to use for an inexperienced person and gets rid of the struggles of first time building.

Upgraded to a r5 3600 and this board yesterday. Installing the board was a breeze and has all the features you would need from a simple board (and looks nice with the red backlight. My only complaint so far has been the numerous BIOS issues (namely a crash on cold boot which appears to be very common with the v33 bios) I've encountered. Personally, I quite enjoy tinkering in menus, searching for solutions and the like but this probably isn't good for someone who expects this to just work out of the box, for these people I would recommend holding off until early December and seeing if this issues have been resolved.Edit - I'll also note that the boot/post time on the most recent bios is unusually long for a powerful (R5 3600,16GB RAM) machine using an SSD.Edit 2 - the slow boot seems to have sorted itself over time. Some drivers probably needed to be installed.

I settled on this board after seeing another online review claiming it's the best sub £100 motherboard to pair with an AMD 3900X CPU. I personally have paired the board with an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X CPU and found that they work great together - I have an achieved a stable CPU overclock close to the max stated by the manufacturer.Aside from performance, the board itself looks fantastic. What I particularly like is that it's mostly black, meaning that aesthetically it pairs well with other components. Many other boards come with coloured components, which then only look good in cases containing hardware of similar colours. Coupled with the built-in RBG strip, you're fre to set your own colourscheme for the inside of your rig. Finally, the BIOS utility is intuitive and simple. I have updated the BIOS firmware and performed manual overclocking without any complication.

First of all, Max version, ordered for a Ryzen 3600X Cpu, works right out of the box without any issues, CPU, M2 Ssd, and also worked perfect with my 3333 DDR4 kit with XMP.Did some minor overclocking tests, no issues, as expected, the nice thing is I can run my 3333 memory at 3600 mhz with heavy timing tweaking no issue at all almost at stock voltage, super stable. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the bios is sort of clunky, works without issues, but is very slow to initialize system and not very snappy either, but that's just a nuisance, by no means a breaking point, it works as intended. Another reason for the 4 stars is the sub par audio quality, for music lovers its a no go,good enough for games and general audio, but for music fidelity a extra sound card is a must. If it would have had better audio, I would have given it 5 stars.

I recently bought a Ryzen 3600 and so needed a new motherboard.I had to choose between an expensive X570 (that need a fan that can fail) or cheaper B450/X470 motherboards. The only problem is that most B450/X470 motherboards won't work with a 3600 and you have to somehow get an older CPU so you can flash the BIOS (which is always a slight risk). The B450 Tomahawk MAX (make sure you get the MAX version and not the regular Tomahawk) worked straight out of the box with my 3600 and my Corsair 3200MHz RAM XMP profile worked as well.As a plus the VRM is good enough that I can look at upgrading to a 12/16 core CPU down the road. All in all it's a great choice for a budget gaming build, the CPU and the motherboard came to the same price as a mid range X570 motherboard.

This is a basic, b450 board - with neutral looks and solid build quality. One of the best things about this board is that it doesn't contain unnecessary or un-needed features - containing only the essential important ones. The board is also very well laid out - and easy to cable manage around. Furthermore the manual is high quality and explains installation and further details, like I/O ports etc. Overall great board - with my only criticism being the RGB led's being of poor quality - giving a "dot" like appearance - rather than an under-glow which would have looked nicer. I personally switched them off, but again this is a minor gripe with an otherwise fire board.

Bought this to upgrade to a Ryzen 3600. It was reviews as one of the best boards for the job, without the price hike to the 570 motherboards. It also works out the box with Ryzen 3rd gen, where as quite a few boards need bios upgrades. However in my haste in comparing boards, for some reason I overlooked the amount of USB's this board has, for most people it probably wont mind, but I have quite a lot of usb devices and already ran out, even with a 4 port usb hub, I still need a couple more. I will invest in an internal USB card. However the board is very stable, very fast, has full RGB (not that is matters as my case has a solid side :p).

Excellent motherboard that comes straight out the box with 3rd gen Ryzen support. You get more than what you pay for at this bargain price of just under £100. Comes with a lot of storage options with six sata ports and m2 capabilities. Up to 64gb ram supported so plenty of upgrade options available. Low power draw compared to a lot of other AM4 boards. Lots of b450 motherboards on the market and this is the one!!Beautifully crafted and also includes bios flash support. Very happy with product received and would encourage all pc building enthusiasts to look into buying this board as you get more bang for your buck compared to other boards.
