Most people either love this phone... or they hate it. It is to this years mobile phone market what the Citroen DS was to 1960's car design... sleek, sexy, quirky and different!Having shied away from Motorola's for all of my mobile phone owning life to date (based upon hearsay evidence of them being poor performers and "user unfriendly") it was not without some sense of intrepidation that I eventually upgraded my trusty Nokia 8910i for one of these. I can report back that, almost to my surprise, I'm thoroughly pleased with my choice!First the bad points. The user interface isn't as simple as Nokia's or Sony Ericsson's for sure, and there seem to be a few "niggly" ommissions (like having to scroll through all of the address book to find a number rather than a "search" option, but luckily I don't seem to have that many friends... so I'll live with that. Secondly (although possibly not a bad point for some) I can state with confidence that it doesn't try to pack every "bell and whistle" into it's thin frame. If you want an FM radio, memory card slot, Video camera, Teasmade and oven timer included on a phone the size of your brain cell... then perhaps this isn't the phone for you. However if you want a well made, attractive phone with enough extras to keep you occupied and (most importantly in my book)exceptional call clarity, then I would recommend this phone to you. The outer shell of the phone is anodised aluminium which feels great and (given that the phone is less than 14mm thick even when closed) is reassuringly robust. I love the keypad which is "etched" onto the face of the phone and glows a hypnotoc blue in the dark. At first it seems a little different to use (but then this phone is) but personally I prefer it now to traditional keypads, and it is leaps ahead of my old Nokia 8910i (which I found a little fiddly). But the "piece de resistance" of this phone is the call quality... I'm astounded... It really is superb, if you don't believe me try it for yourself. One last point (which clinched it for me), it comes with just about every accessory you could want included - usb cable, software, leather case, charger and (get this) even a "wiper" to clean your new purchase from greasy finger marks etc!!! If I've convinced you already and you're persuaded to get one they come in silver or black... for me the black wins every time, I think it looks really classy (mind you I chose the wife aswell!!!).In summary you've probably guessed that I love this phone. It's not got every gadget known to man... but then if I want video camera I'll buy one!!! But what it does do is excel as a well built, great looking phone with outstanding performance.

I, for one, utterly adore this phone! I got my first one when it originally came out, and I had the thing for over 3 years until it died an untimely death at the feet of a small child on the bus (knocked it out of my hand then stood on it - was not impressed). I got a slider phone after that and I couldn't get used to the keypad or any of the settings on it, and it seemed to freeze whenever I went near it.In short, I repel technology, yet the original V3 (the basic model with no video camera) survived everything I could possibly do to it, which included being dropped down several flights of stairs on numerous occasions, and it never had a mark on it when it died.My only concern was how the number 8 on the keypad managed to fall off despite being flush to the phone. The flaws: personally, I don't feel that a lack of video camera is a flaw, but there are those who would like their phone to sing, dance and do their ironing, as well as shoot 12 hours of video and have the storage space of an external hard-drive. If you use your phone as a camera or video camera, then this isn't the phone for you. After a while (and I mean a long while), the battery starts to give up the ghost, but they are easily replacable, as are the chargers, which, sadly, aren't as durable as the phones themselves. There's not a lot of space for music or downloads, but you can fit one of two small files on if you like your personalised ringtones, but the ones built in to the phone are pretty decent themselves if you're not that ringtone-conscious.The pros: the contraption is indestructible! Mine went through hell and back and survived 3 years in the pocket/bag of a teenager, so you know it's built to last.It does what it says on the tin. It's a phone; not a laptop, and it does exactly what a phone is designed to do, and it does it well. It has a very easy SMS and MMS style, it has great call quality, and it fits into your pocket nicely without looking like you're carting round a housebrick. All in all, epic little phone!

...then this would be it. By the spread of reviews it's obviously something you either love or hate, and there are a few idiosyncracies about the OS i don't like, after years of Sony Ericsson phones, and their intuitive software. However, this is the first time i've got a phone i expect to still be using when this contract has expired. I like it so much i'm thinking of buying another on sim-free for when this one dies.Pros:All connections (data, hands free, charger etc) via one USB port, rather than the usual plethora of proprietary slots and holes.Tactile feel (real metal!)- refreshing after years of cheap tacky plastic that creaks after a month of use. Those blue lights! (and the size of the keypad).Huge, clear screen, pin-sharp display.Phone Tools software is excellent.Slim, great design, real eye-candy.Cons:Texting is tricky, but that's probably because i've been using SE for ages... maybe just a bit like driving a Ford after years in a Mazda (indicating with the windscreen wipers etc)Try getting themes on to it, or changing the HELLOMOTO splash screen to something less crap...if you dare... (more hacking than phone customisation). No dedicated 'cancel/delete' key like Sonys.. you can do most things on a SE using just 2 keys... a small point, but it all adds to the friendlyness of the UI.The camera is crap.. but this is a phone... so buy a camera :)Although there seems a bigger list of cons than pros, for me all the pros are big +s, and the cons tiny -s, most of which are things you can get used to with a little use. There are more fully featured phones out there, but most whizz-bang features lose their novelty value after a week or 2 any way for me, and overall this is the nicest phone i've ever seen.Batman would want one too...

This is a great, stylish and easy to use phone. It is very slim and while some people say that they'd be scared of snapping it, it feels very robust and the only likely way of this actually happening is if it is done deliberately! I've had the phone for a month after using a friends silver V3 and am very happy with every part of it...except for the blue keypad lighting. It's very likely this is specific to my phone but it can be very temperamental about when it lights up and when it doesn't, i find that if its dark it refuses to...and is bright in well lit conditions, a bit odd! The menu system is very easy to navigate, the games are limited but good and the other applications are easy to use while being very helpful.Overall this is an impressive phone that actually is as good as it looks!

I've always liked the look if these and I especially like the clam shell design (the entire phone looks cool to me). So when My Samsung started playing upI got one and recommend them to anyone. For one thing it's metal which is reassuring and feels good too. Talking of touch the keypad feels very good on the fingertips as well having that lovely blue light. The battery life and speakerphone are good and texting is ok - different from my old phone, I need to get used to it.I just can't find a thing to criticise it about except price but I always think goods should be cheaper. So 5 stars from me.

I got this phone simply because I had used my Nokia 6310 for far too long, and wanted something different.Overall, it is a good phone, which does the job well enough.I miss some of the Nokia features such as sending business cards (can't seem to find this anywhere in the Razr). But more than made up in the Razr by having a speakerphone which is pretty good.Battery life is alright, considering the large screen.Only thing which could have been better is the Font used - in some cases it is really too large and ugly, and not in tune with the phone's cool design.

A great slim phone and such an improvement on the Siemens I previously had. The SMS is easy to use and the camera produces some reasonable images for the price. The phone even has a simple video capture facility although it's not great on quality. The phone performs well on all the usualy facilities and is light and compact. Battery life was found to be good and the speaker phone worked very well in all but noisey backgrounds.Great phone although could do with being a little cheaper.

My previous V3 was pretty good. Being made of metal it survived numerous relationship bust-ups, other calamities including a couple of car crashes and me driving my car into the sea. Unfortunately something got to it: maybe a virus and that killed it. Now I have a nearly new one which is far better than my old V3 which I got in 2005. These phones are cool and pretty much bulletproof.

I have had one of these for about 7 or 8 yrs and it is great. Very compact and the battery is still going after all this time and I would not change it for a touch phone - I don't need bells and whistles - this is simply a great phone. It has blue tooth and that is about as much technology as I want or need. Great if you just want a reliable phone and nothing else.

A beautifully designed phone that offers a myriad of features for the price - Bluetooth, quad band, speaker phone, a camera and a tough adonised aluminium case. A piece of technology that's as good to look at as it is to use and a classic of its time.
