Who says swingball is for kids?!I had the original version in my 1970's childhood and really enjoyed using it - it even encouraged me to join a local tennis club. Now, in our 50's we're enjoying using it again in our garden. Without wishing to sound too much like geriatrics, we're past wanting to run around chasing a ball but this is great. It gives us some exercise, helps build muscle tone and improves our eye-hand co-ordination and we can chat while playing. Our visitors have also entered into the spirit of it too and, keeping it permanently set up in our garden during dry weather, anyone visiting tends to pick up one of the bats suspended on the post and plays either alone or as a pair. It's a great set-up with the plastic base.I suspect in time that the top of the sand/water tray base will crack in UV light but replacements are available and this is so much better than knocking a support into the ground and then risking skimming it with the lawn mower- assuming it doesn't become overgrown with grass which has happened in the past.Highly recommended for children or all ages, including 'children' aged 50+

I have had Swingball since it was originally done by Dunlop. Some have been good, some not so good. This one falls into the latter category. It is a bit shorter than I expected (about 140cm/55 inches), even when fully set up, but then it is for kids really. The shorter pole doesn't affect the game play and might make it a bit easier for the young ones. I have been out practicing myself and it's just as good to use as I remember. If you have really little ones, the pole can be made shorter. The bats are nice. Bit different from the original ones back in the day. Lighter and more flexible. They give a good grip and are not too hard on the hand even when you hit the ball hard. The base is excellent.I have it filled with wet sand and even my best efforts have not managed to get it to sway let alone topple over. Very stable.I really have nothing negative to say about this product. Highly recommended.

My son had this for his birthday. What a laugh and great fun for all to use and join in with. Easy to put up and use. One thing would say, decide on where you want to use before filling with water-becomes very heavy to move if change your mind!!!Hadn't noticed when picked up fom local store that one of the yellow clips on the box was missing, noticed when son unwrapped it to check contents were all there. Children wanted to use it straight away so thought it wouldn't make much of a difference to playing the game.It only mattered when wanted to pick up and move then water came out from where the missing clip should have been. There is a helpline number on the box and they were very helpful.replacement clip on way, which means we've not had to exchange and been still able to enjoy this brilliant game..No GYM needed after using this !!!!IDEAL FOR SUMMER HOLS AS CAN TAKE ANYWHERE WITH YOU

Our nine year old granddaughter took over when I fell faint at the sight of it all in bits inside the plastic base. The instructions looked complex to me but she had it up and running in minutes. We actually clamped the base to the ground with pegs and elastic as we hadn't got any grit or sand to hand to weigh it down. All afternoon it was used as a birthday party game before being packed up again and taken home by the six year old recipient.A triumph of good design, this is straightforward to buy, carry home, open and use. Swing ball is an outdoor activity toy that has been perennially popular in our family, only needing replacing every few years.I am glad we chose this one which was also keenly priced compared to supermarkets having it on sale. We all have a go and it is good for fitness, exercise and getting one's eye in as it were.

Swingball is a lot of fun - and a great way for kids (especially not very sporty kids) to improve their hand-eye coordination. The All Surface Swingball is just like the original swingball - only better! No faffing around making holes in the lawn - this set can be used on any surface. It is sturdy enough you can give the ball a really good wack, but easily packs away into it's base/box to make it completely portable - great for taking to the beach, camping, picnics etc. It's easy to put together (my 10 year old and 7 year old sons did it first time with only a little help). The base can to be filled with either sand or water (we've used sand) and easily filled, emptied and refilled. The rope length is adjustable. This is an excellent, sturdy and flexible version of a classic family game.

Great product, only thing it could do with is a better designed slot for the base pole to go into inside the base - the current 'hole' isn't deep enough.Definitely needs a lot of water adding to keep it steady, though using water instead of sand is tricky as it easily spills out as the base is flexible and wobbles a fair amount when carrying. Either fill at the position you want to play (not always possible) or use sand or some other material. I tried using heavy weights but they didn't work as I think the weight distribution needs to spread around the base.Other than these quirks it's an excellent product. Well made, premium feel, not like the cheap knock-offs. I did get it while reduced in price to £18 though, certainly wouldn't be worth £30.

I used to play Swingball avidly as a kid, and wondered what my own children would make of it. Also of course, I was intrigued to see what it was like to play again myself after all these years. After filling the base with water we were away, and I'm delighted to say that Swingball is just as much fun to play as an adult as it is as a kid. It's one of those classic games which just doesn't seem to age, and is perfect for all skill levels, from toddlers onward. It's great for practising tennis skills and undoubtedly helps with hand to eye coordination, but perhaps most of all it's a relaxing yet involving family pastime. And it's a way to get the kids outdoors and away from screens, which as far as I'm concerned is quite an achievement.

I've rated this toy five stars, this is our second swingball we are replacing the very old and worn one. We played this for hours and hours, I also think its great for helping children to develop good hand and eye co-ordination. When my son started school they told me he was fantastic at badminton, I had never taught him badminton, I can only presume that this game helped him to develop the necessary skills. I'd recommend this game to anyone who wants their child to have hours and hours of fun, its also great fun for adults. We have taken it with us on UK holidays, its even been played at the beach.

We bought this for our Son who's just started playing tennis at school so he could practice his technique without whacking loads of tennis balls over the fence and upsetting the neighbours. The set comes in a handy carry case so can be taken to the beach and park and it's really well made and sturdy. I half filled the base with sand and this is plenty to keep it upright even in hard-fought games. it took a few goes for him to get the hang of it but after he got the hang of it he now says it's the best fun ever and we play it all the time, even the wife has a go, very pleased.

Got this as a way to strengthen arm and shouders after a long spell of illness, very well made and easy to assemble to get hours and hours of fun.Made with a good steel pole which is far better than the plastic type, this one can easily be pushed into the grass and once in even the hardest hit on the ball did not dislodge or make the pole loose. With the disc to the base it is perfect to stop the pole being pushed too far into the ground, the bats are light yet robust and comfortable to hold and use.A great product which I and my wife are very pleased with.

I am about to buy a new swingball. Our previous set lasted almost five years, the final two years being out in the garden 24/7. After five years amazingly the bats were still intact, and pole rusting was minimal. We had put sand in the base, and eventually we had bother getting the pole to stay in.I am very impressed at how long it lasted, and the hours and hours my daughter has spent playing with it alone and with other children. Great for her to release tension - a few minutes after school each day before coming indoors, rain or shine.Worth every penny!

Swingball requires a rock-steady pillar if it is to work properly. It is quite difficult, especially in dry weather, to drive a post into the ground firmly. Instead the all-surface box, filled with water, does the job admirably and with remarkable ease. Once the game is over, simply empty away the water and the base turns into a light carrying case for the set - bingo! The locking sleeves ensure that the sectioned pillar does not work loose even in heavy use, and we think the entire kit is both well-constructed and very good fun. Thoroughly recommended.

If I'm honest we first got a swingball set because I wanted one as a child but could never convince my parents we would use it. As soon as we got one my kids used it all summer long . Even as teenagers they still use it and it is a constant feature in our garden. We have replaced the ball a few times but as the set has travelled with us on various camping holidays and when we have visited family and friends it has been a great purchase. It has also been a talking point with adults who are always keen on showing their prowess with a plastic bat

Bought this for a 6yr old's birthday but the whole family had a lot of fun with it in the garden. The set is designed to pack into the stand which is brilliant when you want to pack it away for winter. The stand also enables you to use it on any level surface not just grass. You just need to fill the base with either water or sand to weight it down. We used water and it did the trick perfectly. It seems pretty robust too. Altogether very happy with it and it certainly got the children away from their I-pads and into the garden to run around.

There's something tirelessly entertaining about swingball, and this well priced and well-packaged version does it justice. It all packs down into that base. That's the best bit for me; this is basicaly portable swingball. We bought it for a camping trip and you can fit everything bar the rackets into the base. When you arrive you just have to find something heavy (sand, soil, stones) to weight it with and away you go. Affordable, portable, enjoyable swingball fun.PROS:-Good price-Easy to transport-All surfaceCONS:-None!
