The Miele Triflex HX1 41MUL001GB Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has a rather dramatic price tag, so I was rather intrigued to see just what qualities it possesses to justify such a price.Opening the package, the disassembled vacuum cleaner components are well secured in solid foam cut-outs, and a simple and easy to follow guide displays how to assemble it. As a "3-in-1" vacuum cleaner it has of course three possible configurations:* The first, which I would regard as the standard configuration is with the cylinder at the base, this gives the whole thing a low centre of gravity and easy to manoeuvre.* The second configuration is with the cylinder at the top, attached to the handle.Bear in mind that the main shaft needs to be reversed in this formation. This allows greater access and with a nozzle attached enables one to vacuum things like cornices, corners, crevices and beneath furniture with ease.* The third and final configuration is to dispense with the main shaft entirely and place a nozzle directly on the end to make a kind of large dust-buster. To be honest, it is a little bulky for this purpose and it's not a setup I expect to be using often if at all.Taking the vacuum apart and putting it back together is a remarkably swift and easy process - no tools at all are required, the system enables a very secure push fit, with a button press to unlock the components to enable one to pull them apart, so changing configuration is a quick and easy business. The major benefit of the Miele Triflex is the fact that it is cordless, and as my first cordless vacuum cleaner I can say the freedom afforded makes a huge and beneficial difference - I can vacuum the entire house without having to keeping moving a cable out of the way and unplug it and re-plug it in the next room and all of that aggravation. It's slim and portable, not too heavy - though at 5.5kg not perhaps as light as one might expect - the battery is pretty weighty. The battery slides in just like the other components, and has two release catches on either side to remove it to enable recharging in the provided charging cradle.Did I say "in the provided charging cradle"? Well here's where things went a little pear-shaped - having assembled this impressive piece of technology I discovered that my packaged lacked a charger to charge up the battery. Unfortunately, Miele choose to eschew standard style chargers that can be replaced by generic products, so that it requires the specific Miele charger for this vacuum cleaner. Searching the Miele website I found that chargers were not offered as accessories (only spare nozzles were), and so my only recourse was to email Miele Customer Services - without of course making it known I was a Vine customer.I have to report that despite a delay caused by the current pandemic and some confusion on my part requiring a short back and forth of emails, the individual whom dealt with my issue was exceptionally courteous and helpful and immediately ordered a replacement charger, which duly arrived and enabled me to finally fire up this remarkable looking piece of technology and find out if it operates as good as it looks.Having fully charged the battery (which has LED lights to indicate charge level) I clipped it in place, switched to power button on the handle to the first power level and took it for a test drive. It was very easy to handle, manoeuvrable and a delightful change from my previous vacuum cleaner, which in comparison seems bulky and cumbersome. The suction is very impressive, I found it was generally unnecessary to use the maximum power setting - the three level power settings are said to enable 60, 34 and 17 minutes of use respectively, and in practise this seems about right. The cylinder is of adequate volume but really should be emptied after every use . Fortunately the filter is maintenance-free, so emptying the cylinder and recharging the battery when required is all that is ever needed. The Miele Triflex also comes with what I have found to be a particularly useful accessory; a wall mount from which to hang the vacuum when not in use. Using the two screws provided (with rawlplugs) the unit can be attached to the inner wall of a closet or wherever you find it convenient, and the cleaner just hooks into it, in any configuration. Just make sure it is positioned so as to allow you to hang the vacuum on it in your preferred configuration - I have placed my own with sufficient space above and below to allow storage in any configuration. It also has convenient holders for the spare nozzles. All in all I have to say that this is a pretty spectacular piece of kit; it looks quite awesome to be honest, it is very efficient, reasonably light and slender and it allows one great access to clean every cranny & nook swiftly and without encumbrance - there's no going back to cabled vacuum cleaners after this, that's for sure! And the wall-secured storage unit is an excellent and valued accessory. I was, I must admit, very disappointed and unimpressed upon discovering the lack of a charger in my package, but every cloud has a silver lining and it did allow me to experience Miele's Customer Service, and can report that my experience was completely positive, and was particularly impressed with the individual who responded to and dealt with my issue.Having said that, the Miele Triflex HX1 41MUL001GB Cordless Vacuum Cleaner remains a very high priced product, but if it falls within your budget range I think you could hardly do better than this impressive product.

I've reviewed some other brands of cordless vacs in the past, most a good deal cheaper than this one from Miele. So I was curious to discover where the money was in such an expensive cleaner. And while I still feel that it's rather highly priced for what it is, it certainly has a lot going for it.Firstly, the name Miele - long associated with quality perhaps not quite on the par with Dyson but only because of the possibly more aggressive advertising campaigns by the latter. Nonetheless this is a solid and trustworthy brand. I had to make contact with the company not long after getting the item to review owing to an insurmountable problem. And I was super impressed that despite being in the midst of a pandemic so the company were working with a skeleton staff, they went out of their way to sort the problem out so that I could properly review the product. So at least now I know where some of that money is hiding in this machine but I'll come back to that later. It comes well boxed and neatly packaged with a good instruction manual which I only referred to once in the assembly so that was a plus point. You can configure it in one of 2 ways - with the dust container at the top (which allows you to more easily get under furniture) or at the bottom, which makes it slightly lighter on the hands. It charges up easily and quickly via a small mains connector (not USB) from dead - took around 3 hours - and shows the progress by a series of up to 4 white bars on the front - these will light up during use to show how much battery power is left. And battery life is good - would take probably a good hour plus of solid usage to run it down even to a single bar. The 3 accessory heads are pretty standard with the smaller pieces used mostly for tops of curtains or skirting boards etc. It also comes with a wall holder & accessory holder. In use it has 3 power levels and an easy selector switch in the handle to select them. And this is where the money is hidden that I mentioned previously, as even using the hoover on the 1st setting it fairly tackles basic dirt. But as others have mentioned, the real test comes when (if you have the option) hoover a carpet with a "standard" hoover, and then go over it with this baby particularly on the highest setting. Not only does it lift yet more dust out of the carpets than you'd think possible, but it will also lift the pile up and on a quality or fairly clean carpet, will maybe make it look like new again - at least it did with a mat of mine that I thought was heading for a wash. Not after this it doesn't!!So that's the good points. Now for the not so good. This is NOT the hoover for you, if you've any sort of upper arm or hand strength difficulties, or hand arthritis, as you'll struggle with it a fair bit. It's heavy enough no matter the configuration but for me, the worst part overall is that dust container. It's small so will fill quickly and while it appears to have a "cyclonic" section at the bottom (the type that whirls round in use) in practice that gets clogged up & stops rotating rather quickly. That wouldn't be too much of a problem if the container was easy to remove to clean. My hands became inflamed rather fast trying to just turn the lid section to be able to remove the container off the hoover but worse was to come. Yes, emptying is a doddle thankfully, but you soon discover that the shape of the interior means that 2/3 of the dirt gets stuck round the sides & top & no amount of shaking etc will shift it. So then you have to remove the filter section and that was the next bit that really crippled my hands. Nothing moved easily, and trying to pull out the filter while holding on to the container nearly had me crying. Certainly not helped with only 1 fully functional hand I admit but just so much tougher than I anticipated. My photos were taken after I'd wrestled with it for a good 20 mins & emptied it etc. But you can hopefully see how you only have space around the filter for dust to be collected. The other less important but for some possibly also frustrating issue is that it has a large plug of the type that demands a full socket to itself so you won't be able to use it easily with a wall adapter. Instead you'll either have to use it alone or in a gang extension. Finally the weight - again, probably fine if you're young, fit & healthy. But for anyone with upper body disability of any nature this might prove taxing to haul about the house. No worries if you live in a bungalow but taking it up one flight of stairs pulled muscles I didn't know I still had! Not THE heaviest but not far off the weight of a cylinder and in fact, some cylinder vacs are lighter, so worth checking before you buy if weight is likely to be an issue.Overall, a good hoover but fairly expensive for what it does for all that so certainly what's termed a "considered" purchase.

VERSION (from the label on the base): MODEL SEB 430/ ELECTROBRUSH MULTI FLOOR XXLA note, I think, is worth mentioning at this point from page 23 of the accompanying OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS booklet:? ‘The Electrobrush can be used for all normal cleaning of carpets, rugs and hard flooring which is not susceptible to scratching.’ooOooAlthough I have used smaller, handheld cordless devices previously this is my first experience of a full-size, cordless vacuum cleaner, and I have to admit I am impressed, both from an aesthetic viewpoint as well as the performance. On full suction, it is a little noisier than some, I feel, but it does an amazing job and the worry about cable length + plug points & potential hazards in between is long since banished! As yet,I haven’t decided where to take advantage of the wall-mounting capability, as it makes sense to house near a power outlet to enable charging whilst stored away, although the battery can be charged without wall-mounting. It is very stable for this when standing upright on the roller brush, with or without the main suction tube in place. To give a fair test I had vacuumed the main carpets the day before with my current corded, bagged machine (the result of which I was quite happy with, or so I thought!), just to see what else would be removed. I set it on its highest of the three suction settings and was frankly amazed & horrified, in equal measures, by the dust & debris that was collected!Without noticing, around 10 minutes later the dust container was over full, i.e. above the ‘MAX line’ and needed emptying.Although it is a simple matter to remove the dust container, I did have to tug at the overfilled debris to get it to come out, rather than it just falling out easily as the bottom lid opened. Also, the dust container is quite small given the filters in place, so I understand the need to empty after each use, as advised.I found the full battery charge was sufficient to do the whole house, lasting just over 30 minutes on a combination of the three suction settings on a mix of carpets & vinyl floors + carpeted stairs. The silver-grey coloured SUCTION POWER SELECTOR SWITCH on the front is easy to slide up or down with the thumb into position, namely '1’, ‘2’ or ‘MAX’, with ‘0’ being ‘OFF’.The diminishing charge shows via the display panel of 3 little white lights further down on the front Image below refers), so you have an idea of how long is left.Be aware tho'...once you get a flashing light on the lowest of the three, there is only around a couple of minutes left...then the vacuum stops!ooOoo~ MIELE~ TRIFLEX HX1~ 3-in-1 CORDLESS VACUUM CLEANERCOLOUR: ‘LOTUS WHITE' with a ROSE GOLD type accent‘Made in Germany’ooOooSturdily packaged in polystyrene-type compartments within a strong cardboard box that measures around 76 cm x 22 cm x 29 cm overall, the cordless vacuum cleaner is elegant in black & white with a flash of a rose gold type contrast. It comes complete with a multi-lingual QUICK START leaflet and a straightforward, detailed English OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS booklet, words & pictures, which covers the family of CORDLESS STICK VACUUM CLEANERS & includes a PROBLEM-SOLVING GUIDE, towards the back.5 minutes reading the instruction booklet made it a simple task to assemble correctly, with each piece connecting via push-fit with a reassuring click, I was raring to give it a try…but…as with most cordless devices, the battery needed to be charged so I had to wait the recommended 4 hours before first time use.The charge level progress is indicated via the aforementioned panel of 3 x little white lights that switch off when it is full.It can be assembled in three configurations. The first two are either with the power unit located at the bottom of the main suction tube, typically for flooring, or with the power unit position nearer the top to enable longer access to awkward spots under furniture etc.The third option is in ‘Powerunit Solo’, a shorter configuration without the main tube, typically when using the three-piece accessory set supplied consisting of:~ UPHOLSTERY NOZZLE~ CREVICE NOZZLE~ DUSTING BRUSHThese accessories can also be attached to the main tube, replacing the roller brush, for reaching into ceiling corners, or cleaning stair carpets etc. In this configuration I did find the overall weight quite heavy & needed two hands when reaching upwards.A handy storage holder is also included to keep the 3 accessories safe together, ready for the next time.[13 images attached]

I thought it might be tough to justify the price of this as it's almost a couple of hundred more than the cordless Vax we got around a year ago, which I've been incredibly happy with, and so was expecting this to be pretty special, and can honestly say that it absolutely is - prior to the recent Vax model (which is very powerful and easy to handle and charge etc), we had an older Dyson model which was also incredibly well made, had great suction and put in a good few years, but this is far superior than either of them on most every front for me and I think worth the extra outlay - it's an amazing price of equipment, makes everything so easy and quick and is astounding what it drags out of seemingly very clean carpets!Once fully charged I was pleased with how relatively light it was to carry up stairs and get going - it's very portable and easy to handle, and less cumbersome than the Vax. Going straight in at the highest suction setting (there are three power settings which is great for when you need less juice just for a light sweep, on hard floors etc as it saves battery charge - and is also an extra setting compared to the two on our Vax) I was seriously impressed by the incredible suction power at full whack - in that first moment when you turn it on you wonder if it's actually going to pull the carpet up! And despite having hoovered less than 48 hours before I was blown away/concerned by how much it was pulling out of seemingly thin air and how quickly it was filling up - my mother-in-law would have been horrified if she'd seen what just one room had surrendered to this! Suitably impressed, hoovering suddenly felt very exciting and I attacked the house from top to bottom - honestly wouldn't like to say how many times I emptied it as I don't feel it would paint a fair picture of my fairly good housekeeping ethos! The three power settings and auto-switch for different surfaces along with how easy this is to handle make hoovering incredibly easy, quick, lightweight and actually enjoyable - there's a perverse sense of satisfaction watching just how much otherwise invisible hair and dust etc this unit will reveal. But beyond the impressive power capability one of the real winning points for me is the handheld - I didn't have this on the Vax and changing the head attachment on the main unit to achieve similar results was a pain, time consuming, annoying and only partially effective with the result being that most of the time I wouldn't bother - once again, the Triflex put me to shame and showed the consequences of having done that for the past year or so and on top of this it came in incredibly handy for places I wouldn't usually consider attempting to hoover and would instead use a brush, polish etc - it's perfect for all those awkward and difficult little spots, espeically if you attach the two for extra reach and scope. This, along with the main unit and the third Transformer-like hybird-mode, the ease of use, good battery life and capacity and easy wall storage (I opted to have this on a dedicated wall in the utility - displayed like a piece of art, compared to the spot the Vax got behind the cloakroom door) all make this the perfect machine for me. Completely in love with it and don;t doubt all my friends and family are sick to death of hearing about it now as despite having used it for a good couple of weeks now I still get excited when I convince myself that our rather spotless house could do with another quick hoover.Absolutely love it, 100% happy with it and not a bad word to say about it. The true test will be how long it lasts but with good product cover along with the fact it seems incredibly robust and well made this isn't something that I think will ever be an issue. An absolute winner and brilliant contender for more well known brands.

The packing is large as expected but inside the component parts arrive well protected in separate partitions. I am amazed to see two chargers and two batteries that according to the specification will last for an hour each following an initial four hour charge. I charged both batteries in the main charger unit for the specified time. The main charger is a quality item and has a three pin moulded UK plug attached. The batteries are easy to click in place once you figure out which way around they go and charge automatically. There are three white LEDs that illuminate during charging to show progress. The batteries are huge but reasonably lightweight, imagine cordless drill batteries and some.Assembly of the unit is very intuitive and connecting all the parts together, you can feel the German quality coming through.Every part slots together nicely and simply works. Button presses are a positive action. Following assembly, take a step back and admire (if that’s the right word to describe a vacuum) the grey colour scheme and contrasting striping they look amazing together. Assembly instructions are provided but they aren’t strictly necessary. The instructions are clear. Anyone reading some of my other reviews knows I hate picture instructions but these are consise and somehow better than others I have come across? Emptying the machine is just a twist of the top and the container comes off. It is perhaps the hardest thing to do on the machine, the top is a very tight fit and doesn’t store that much dust before it requires emptying. It does however claim a maintenance free hepa filter on the product page. This I don’t understand as there is an outer filter and fine dust filters in the dust tank that require monthly maintenance? Maybe it means they last a lifetime?Storage of the machine, It can be broken down but if left fully assembled it can be hung on an equally well made wall hanger (screws supplied) along with the accessories. The machine is tall and you will need some height to hang it.Operation is via a sliding switch, there are three speed positions. On the lowest setting the speed is adequate to suck up fluff from a medium pile carpet. The motor is very quiet, the machine is very light. The suction power is very good and I love the light on the front and swivel head action. The head is automatically adjusted for hard floors too.I vacuumed all the rooms upstairs and the stair carpet. The machine indicates one third of the battery spent following its first charge and run. I will expect a recharge will not be required for some time to come during normal operation. The hand tools are basic and limited, I would have liked a longer crevice tool. There are loads of additional accessories to be had and all the part codes are in the user guide book including one for another crevice and radiator tool. The vacuum has a two year guarantee once registered with Miele. There’s not too many component parts to go wrong.Overall impressions, I love it, my daughter has another brand that performs really badly and with this by way of comparison. I can only upload one video of the machine. Take a look. I would consider crowning this, the current king of stick vacuum cleaners.

These cordless vacuum cleaners have now been around long enough to make honest and informative comparisons with. From the lightweight cheaper models to the more robust, and when I say robust I am referring to this Mighty Beast, the Miele Triflex HX1 Pro. It is indeed mighty as compared with others.First of all, this is a heavy cleaner and not for the faint hearted. It feels and performs like a high quality corded vacuum and is as powerful as one. Being cordless, the amount of suction power is quite simply, stunning. In use on carpets it does exactly what it should and does it with ease. On longer pile carpets it can be a bit of a problem, but by turning the power to 1 (out of 3)it makes the job easier - best of all, even on lower power it still works brilliantly. At first, all the fitting together is somewhat tight and a bit stiff, but after a few days of use and having emptied the dust etc out, it all soon becomes easier (and friendlier) to use. The 'heads' that come with the cleaner are OK but come nowhere near the usability of the carpet one. This head is wider and flatter than most and does the job better than most corded vacuums I have ever used. The extension tube is straight, heavy and very well made. It is long enough to be helpful in that you don't need to bend whilst cleaning - good for back sufferers like me.The 'motor' unit can be placed at either end of the extension tube, giving it more versatility. Although it is best fitted low down for carpets etc as it becomes much more comfortable to use - it can be quite top heavy if you fit the motor to the top of the extension tube.As this is such an amazing cleaner the dust bowl fills very quickly (my wife says it is, like most of these cordless cleaners, too small) and it can be quite fiddly when emptying it, meaning you often need to pull out the bits, especially if like us you have a small dog that tends to leave hair all over the place.Of course there are a couple of negatives, such as the dust collector being too small and the whole thing being very heavy for a cordless cleaner, but these are not enough to lose even one star,This is a Miele product and like all Miele products, it is designed and made to a very high standard and should last for many years. Yes the battery charge does not last long (although with this cleaner you do get TWO batteries), but it cleans quickly and efficiently. The whole unit is heavy, possibly too heavy for some of you, but the weight is necessary to perform as well as it does. The unit can be lifted onto a charging plate for ease of storage and keeping it fully charged - it can also charge the second battery in its own special charger (GREAT IDEA MIELE). Finally it is an amazing cleaner that does a brilliant job.In my opinion you will be hard pressed to get a cordless cleaner that actually does the job of keeping your carpets clean and looking good with any other cleaner. Yes it is expensive, yes it is a bit heavy, but if you want quality in a cleaner and you (like us0 want your carpets to always look the best, then it must be Miele all the way.

This hoover is really good, even better than good actually. Before using the batteries ( 2 included) need charging for 4 hours before first use. A battery charging stand holds 1 battery at a time for charging, however the second battery can be charged via a plug directly from the hoover to a socket. So you can charge the 2 batteries simultaneously. The hoover is very easy to assemble and the instructions are very clear and easy to understand. I assembled it as the full size hoover that would be used for the floors and it took about 2 minutes to set up. The hoover also has a light (see pic) for hoovering under furniture so you can see any bits you may of missed. It's nice and bright as you can see.I thought I'd just try it out on my wooden flooring just to get a feel of the suction power. It has 3 different levels which you can adjust very easily with your thumb whilst hoovering. I was very surprised to see so much pet hair and dust in my hoover considering I had only vacuumed my house with my Dyson the day before. It works really well on hard floors and it didn't leave any marks. After trying it on my hard floors I thought I'd remover the long tube and fit the head directly to the tank for the stairs. The suction was very strong and I could instantly see how much dust and pet hair it was picking up, it was almost embarrassing. I thought my lovely carpet was nice and clean and this hoover revealed it was not. The firm bristles agitated the carpet and it looked like it did when it was first laid. Very pleased with the results on both carpets and hard floors.Monitoring battery level is easy as it is shown by lights on the front of the hoover so you can see when battery is low. Battery time is OK and 1 battery will last roughly an hour depending on the usage (using on a carpet will use more than hard floors)The tank which stores all the dust etc it picks up is quite small, it did fill up quite quickly on our first use but that was because the carpets and floors had never been hoovered so well before. It did need emptying around 2-3 times. This however was just for the first use. Going forward because the carpet is now properly clean, it doesn't have as much to pick up therefore doesn't need emptying as much. The hoover can be wall mounted above a plug to be charged every time it's not in use however it can also just be mounted and batteries charged in the charging stand elsewhere. The hoover comes with 3 extra attachments, a furniture head, a crevice head and a soft bristle dusting head for skirting boards, ceilings, shelves etc. The hoover does have a bit of weight to it, it's not overly heavy but it's not light either.Overall it is a very good hoover, the suction is unbelievably good. It's a nice looking hoover and doesn't take up too much space while being stored. As for the price (£670) I think it's a little steep. It is a brilliant hoover, it really is but in my opinion I'd day £400-450 max would be about right.Thank you for reading my review, if it was helpful could you please hit the helpful button ? Thank you ?

This has been my first experience of using a cordless vacuum and I must admit I was fairly sceptical that they could compete with an mains-powered model. When reading my comments, bear in mind I'm comparing against one of Dyson's older Allfloors mains-powered vacuums which is approximately a similar size.Pros:- It's difficult to explain how much difference not having a power cord makes. I didn't expect this to be particularly significant but it was only when I started using it that I realised how annoying I'd found a power cord previously without realising it!- Significantly more suction than the Dyson. This was the thing which surprised me the most!Even on its lowest setting it seems to clean better and pick up more dirt than the Dyson does.- Despite being a similar overall size to the Dyson, it's about half the weight- It's also a lot quieter than the Dyson- Two different ways to set it up in an "upright" configuration, although only one of them can stand unsupported so I haven't used the other- On the low setting you do genuinely seem to get about 60 minutes out of the battery and since it's supplied with two batteries (and an extra external charger) you're not going to be short on runtime.- The design is well thought out, and build quality seems good.Cons:- The dust compartment is fairly small, which means you're going to have to empty it after doing each room in my experience so far.- It's not as easy to manoeuvre as the Dyson. In particular, if you need to lift the front to go over a threshold, rug or similar then you have to lift the whole vacuum whereas for the Dyson you could just tilt the handle backwards.- Not having a fixed flexible hose is a disadvantage. When you're doing corners / upholstery you have to disassemble then reassemble the vacuum into the configuration you want. This means you need to plan what you're doing a bit more than you otherwise would, to avoid repeatedly taking it apart.- Whilst it's lighter than the Dyson, it's still heavy to use as a handheld vacuum. When you're lifting it to do cushions or anything above knee level you'll quickly find it tiring! This is another area where a flexible hose would have helped, so that the motor unit could remain on the floor.Lastly, perhaps the biggest disadvantage: price. It's hard not to mention that this retails for more than £600, more expensive than even the top end Dyson equivalent. Do I like the performance of the Miele? Yes. Would I personally ever choose to pay this much money for a vacuum cleaner? No.If you can justify the expense then this is undoubtedly a very good vacuum which should keep working for years. If you can't, I suggest sticking to modern corded models which should have similar performance and eliminate some of the disadvantages.

It's a Miele !! Well designed, well executed, well packaged, good looking, very functional and worth the money!I have a Miele C3 Cat & Dog ~ mains powered, floor based vacuum cleaner and its the best vacuum cleaner we've owned! One star feature of this machine is the sealed bag waste system and this is the only point of the Miele Triflex HX1 Cat & Dog that I dislike. The Miele Triflex HX1 Cat & Dog was beautifully packed, everything protected and very little space wasted in the box. Unwrapping and assembly was simple ~ two ways to assemble (all in the instructions) with a long handle and the short up the stairs system with no long pole. The pipes and parts carry the power to the two main cleaning heads. Its really well designed and its a classy vacuum cleaner. We prefer the power down low system, at the moment, but it's simple to change. Miele are quite right in saying its a powerful as a mains machine. I can't fault the suction, even at the lower powers. The photographs show the efficiency of this machine. My only complaint and I can see why Miele chose to design it the way they did, is the plastic waste box!! It's like going back to the D**** when it come to emptying ~ open the box let the muck fall out and very often bang the filter to clean it. Exactly one very good reason for getting the C3 machine! The waste box is well designed, you unlock, take it off, twist the locking system again and the bottom opens and the muck falls into the bin, onto you and I ended up poking out the remains with a long pencil!! I realised the I had overfilled the waste box, but when you look at the size of it, that's not a surprise. On my not very dirty carpets the waste was full after one carpeted room. This is not a Miele failing ~ it's being compact and easy to use.The charging system is very simple and unsophisticated. Although there is a well designed base unit to keep the cleaner and three tools on, the charger is just the usual wall wart and piece of cable to manually plug into the cleaner. A base unit with a built in charger and contacts would have been more suitable for such a high-tech machine.I really do think that the Miele Triflex HX1 Cat & Dog can replace a conventional vacuum cleaner, but be prepared to empty the waste box frequently if you have a cat or dog!A top quality machine with power and battery life a plenty, good tools and an excellent storage system that can be screwed to the inside of a cupboard (as long as there is power to charge it in there).

The first question, is this a great Vacuum Cleaner, YES, Is this worth £664? That’s slightly harder question, as it is the best Vacuum Cleaner I have every used, but not sure at £664 an vacuum cleaner could every do anything to be worth £664.Firstly the positives• Easy to assemble, you will need to follow the instructions as there are several ways you can put the cleaner together• The suction is incredible especially for a battery powered vacuum cleaner, you have 3 levels, the top level will leave lines in your carpet and pick everything up. Level 1 is ideal for tiled floors where less suction is required and will save your battery (see negatives)• You get two batteries so you should need to wait to charge. You can charge on in the docking station provided and one direct to the vacuum cleaner when the batter is connected to the cleaner• A sturdy and easy to put up rack to hold the hoover in• Easy to use, moves really easily, around corners, is a little on the heavy side when used as an upright vacuum cleaner, but our 8 year old can use it easily.• It breaks down into a handy hand held device, again you can use different suction levels. It comes with attachments to do stairs cars etc• Battery life is good if you use is it on level 1 but reduces considerably as you move up the suction levels• Easy to clean the brushes to get rid of hairs etc.• Looks modern and stylish for a vacuum cleanerNegatives• Small dirt container, its small and you can only fill it half full before it needs emptying. Fills up really quickly especially if you carpet is relatively new.• Not the easiest emptying system, can be a bit clunky• The held device is extremely heavy, and hurts your wrists after a while.• Battery life on level 3 is very short I would say around 25-30 minutes. However will go for 2 hours on the lowest setting level 1I can’t comment on how long the Miele Triflex will last but I have seen no perforamce drop off in a month. Overall this vacuum cleaner is amazing and would recommend if you have £664 to spare. Enjoy it actually makes hoovering more barable.

I have had a number of vacuum’s over the years and my current favourites were a Bosch and a Dyson. This has now superseded those and combined all the best bits of a stick and a handheld and merged them into one perfectly crafted device. The Miele is truly superb. So, it comes well presented and inside the box you get the vacuum, wall mount, charger and three accessories. Instantly I love the fact there’s a wall mount included. It looks superb and assembling it you can feel the quality. There are 3 configurations to it. You can configure it as a traditional stick stle, as a handheld or a hybrid utilising the handle to reach areas high above etc. It is very versatile. It doesn’t feel flimsy or creaky and is nice and reassuringly solid. Once assembled I plugged it in and waited a few hours ofr the battery to fully charge, Some models come with a second battery and a desktop charger but that can also be bought separately although availability is limited at time of review asd the product is so new. There are 3 power levels all of which affect run time accordingly. Turning it on the vacuum makes a pleasing sound that’s not overly intrusive. The motorised brush head literally seals itself to the floor and during movement you can hear little puffs where the seal breaks. Its superb. It adjusts automatically from carpet to hard floor and to be honest the amount it picked up you’d swear I hadn’t vacuumed in years. It’s astounding.Emptying it is reasonably straightforward and the can holds a decent amount. I’d say you probably need to empty it at least once doing an average house.I lamented my Bosch that although great as a stick, had tools that were impractical to use and the dyson wasn’t capable of being a full house cleaner. It’s a futuristic and well designed vacuum that I really enjoy using.

I have had a Dyson stick vacuum for years and so it was good to be able to compare the latest Miele offering.Immediately there is a plus point - there are lots of ways to connect all the parts of the vacuum, but in one configuration it can stand up on its own. There is no need to bolt a charging point to the wall and so it is more flexible. You will have to find a home for all the spare pieces of the vacuum that you are not using though, which is always a pain. The next big plus point for the Miele is that the power is controlled by a push switch (off plus 3 settings) rather than a trigger. That means that you do not have to grip the handle tightly to hold the trigger in place when using thevacuum. The battery might last 45 mins at the lowest setting but at maximum power it lasts less than 20 mins - not enough to clean the whole house. The capacity of the vacuum itself is rather small as well - it managed the carpeted living room and one bedroom before it needed emptying. That is a bit smaller than the Dyson which is annoying. It is also a little awkward to empty - when the container is at maximum capacity, I had to pull some of the dust and dirt out with my fingers as it did not drop straight into the bin. It was also a little awkward to slot the dust container back onto the vacuum. The light on the vacuum is useful for spotting crumbs on a tiled floor, and there are lots of attachments for the hoover for different cleaning tasks. The machine is flexible and pivots to turn corners easily. The main attachment (the one that you use if you want the vacuum to stand up on its own) is a bit taller than the main attachment on the Dyson and so it does not fit into as many tight spaces. If it had a better battery life and larger dust container, I would have scored the vacuum more highly.

We have a Dyson upright vacuum cleaner which is quite heavy and as we've got older it's becoming more and more difficult to clean the stairs and carry it upstairs to clean the bedrooms. We therefore got this cleaner to leave upstairs to avoid all the carrying and faffing about. However, although this is of the 'stick-style' cordless cleaner it is quite substantial - not as heavy as our Dyson but not as light as some of the cheaper stick cleaners. This is a very well-engineered and designed product (easily on a par with Dyson) and it can be assembled in three different ways to give different cleaning options. It has three power settings accessed from a switch on the handle and it is powerful with excellent suction - on our first couple of cleans of the lounge and bedrooms we quickly filled up the see-through plastic dust cylinder. It also has a light on the front, like an old Hoover we used to have. In working the cleaner is not too noisy (compared to the mega noisy Dyson) and it handles easily both on carpets, the kitchen tiled floor and on the stairs. The cleaner comes with a a wall bracket and three cleaning tools which can be mounted in a rack on top of the wall bracket. It also comes with two batteries (1 spare) and a battery charger with charge indicator. The batteries reportedly last for two hours and the cleaner has a battery life indicator.I must admit that since we've got this cleaner we now use it upstairs and downstairs in preference to the Dyson, although it isn't quite as light or as quiet as we'd hoped. The other downside is the smallish dust cylinder - it is in proportion to the size of the cleaner but if you have a largish house you'll probably need to empty it quite often. It is also VERY expensive at over £600, so more than high end Dyson and Bosch cleaners.

Wow very easy to assemble I didn't need the instruction manual it all made sense to me. I love the set of tools too all more then useful attachments that are very easy to attach without too much effort, very good for older users, the brush tool I found great for upholstery and my PC grill for sucking out dust that builds up around the front panel, the crevice tool for those skirting board area's and around the door entrance and fridge door etc In the kit you also get a wall mount, this is for hooking the unit on the wall so its sturdy and wont fall over while charging. its very easy to attach to wood with screws supplied or you can drill them into the wall with plugs also supplied but you will need a philips type screwdriver and drill for this.I have shown in the picture the phillips screwdriver (not supplied) its got a cross (X) type head. I am very very impressed with this whole Vac kit its very well made and no plastic flexible tubing its all solid thick strong tubes so no more breakage and expensive repair bills. You can use this on any type of floors and it has two interchangeable heads for this. The pick up suction is amazing for a battery vac the best I've come across it almost took my carpet up too never mind the dust. I found it pretty lightweight but for some it may differ but the vac has a stairs/car carpet de attachment for this type of carpet too and its not too heavy at all for the older folk/vulnerable types. This definitely deserves all stars but its rather way too expensive the only reason I have to give it 4.

My heart sank when an enormous box arrived from Amazon - I was really looking forward to a light, neat vacuum that wouldn't be a pain to use on the stairs. Naturally it was just to accommodate the length of the Miele box, which was much slimmer than the Amazon box! Bonus - lots of paper packaging for the cats to play with. This is really, really simple to put together and operate. There are essentially four moving parts:- the battery pack, which clips on and off the suction unit;- the vacuum cyclone suction unit;- long extension;- floor roller thingy;- handleThey all clip together easily, and rather brilliantly - for ease of general use you can set it up so that the cyclone unit is near the floor, with the extension above it, meaning that the weight is at the floor end. The power on-off (three settings) is still in your hand. You can also set it so that the cyclone unit is at the hand end, making it easy to lift the other end if required. OR you can just leave the extension out completely, giving you a small but powerful handheld sucker-upper.I tested this on my carpets - cream carpet, black cats - and was really impressed by the power. OK so it isn't QUITE as good as my corded Shark, but then I wouldn't expect it to be (that's a beast that also tugs up the carpet!).In short, I'm incredibly impressed at this lightweight and handy cordless vacuum. You may pay a lot for it, but if you want a cordless, this is for you.
