I have used wired headphones for some time, but as I got the new wheel with Forza 4 it was time for something different. I am often sceptical about these type of headsets (used similar with my mobile phone) because of their stability on your ear and their comfort. This little beauty comes with a few choices of different sized ear pieces that are so simple to fit or replace, and have a very handy storage box so you can leave them in a drawer without loosing them.Connecting the earpiece to the XBox was honestly simplicity itself, and the sound is so clear but it doesn't block out the sound of the TV greatly. Connecting it to my Sony Ericsson X10 via bluetooth was a little more taxing as I'd done the man thing of throwing the instructions away before setting it up!!I did eventually work it out, but I'm not sure quite how - maybe I found a button up by the earpiece to get it to pair, or I left it long enough to auto search for a device. As a bluetooth headset it is not bad, but I didn't find the quality of connection very good with my phone in my trouser pocket, yet leave it on the side and I could walk a good couple of meters away with no degradation of signal. This might not be down to the headset, but my phone, as it's shown some similar issues with some headsets in the past like that.Charging cable is included, and you DON'T need to leave the XBox turned on to charge the headset. So far, I've used it a number of times and have found very good battery life from it - easily 6 or 9 hours, and that's with playing with bluetooth connection, chatting quite a bit, and turning it on and off between games. The only criticism I do have is that Microsoft have maybe tried to move away from buggy fatware, but their packaging is certainly very fat! There are numerous manuals in so many languages supplied, and the box is far too big for the device itself, mainly being taken up by the manuals and plastic packaging, and lots of air! The environmental impact, cost implications, wastage, and additional space required to ship them surely must almost double the price! If you enjoy playing online with your mates and chatting through a headset, then I would say this is a must. It certainly beats having the flimsy cable constantly attached to your head and controller, and compared to other makes of wireless headphones, definitely offers a great product at a much better price.

I have had five (!) Xbox headsets - The Turtle Beach X12 which were brilliant but just too many cables, the Turtle Beach XC1 which became uncomfortable after 30 mins or so, obviously the Microsoft included ones which are just terrible, some little over the ear thing which wasnt worth the plastic it was made of and finally this Microsoft Bluetooth headset and having used it for the first time yesterday i am blown away. Here is why:1) It looks brilliant and feels sturdy and well made yet is still lightweight2) Pairing it to the Xbox takes just a few seconds (make sure you are connected to xBox live when you do so)3) The sound quality is EXCELLENT on both sides with people telling me it is just as clear as the Turtle Beach X12's.4)It is incredibly comfortable to wear for long durations - I had a 4 hour session yesterday with no problems!5) The battery seems superb as even after 4 hours, the battery is still showing as full6) You can check the battery levels on your screen by pressing the controllers home button7) Charging is easy via the USB port on the back of the xBox8) You can mute the mic simply by pressing the headset - the whole thing is like one big button so no more searching along cables for the control box9) You can use it with your phoneSeriously, i dont know why so many people are having problems with this headset. i am SUPER picky when it comes to things like this and i really cant find a single fault with it. Buy it, follow the instructions and you wont regret it!

The Official wireless headset is basically a slightly bigger than average Bluetooth headset with Xbox features. It lets you connect (once paired up) to the Xbox 360 in place of the wired headset you get as part of the standard package with the console. The item comes with another 3 sizes of earpiece, allowing you to better fit it to your ear, though I found none of these fitted perfectly (but then perhaps I have funny ears!). The looped bit of plastic holds the headset in place well, though. After charging, something you can do through the 360's USB port, the device was very easily connected to the console. The first time I tried, though, it went to channel 2 instead of the first one for player 1.Turning it off and on solved this. The sound in multiplayer was fairly clear on both sides (microphone and earphone) but a constant clicking kept annoying me.I'm sure it was just interference, but it did cause a bit of a problem and I ended up going back to the trusty headset in the end.I've since used this as a bluetooth headset for my iPhone and it actually works pretty well, even better than with the Xbox. It also works perfectly with the PS3, which seems a tad ironic.

I didn't buy mine from here, I bought mine of ebay brand new for £20, so bargain! :)Anyway, you can actually link up 4 head sets at the same time which I thought was pretty good. The sound is good, and since my sister has a an xbox too and headset I let her speak into whilst I listened through her's and I can tell you that it is much much better than my old headset! At first I found it annoying, trying to fit it on my ear and found it uncomfy but you just have to get used to it and you barely notice its there. However wear it too long and may start to hurt you ear! It comes with 3 ear pieces so you can fit it to your liking.Quite easy to set up, its just how you set up a wireless controller. One thing that I love about this headset (but can also be annoying) is that it lets you know when your mic is muted, it beeps every 5 seconds. This headset can go the distance, ive been all over my house with out been disconnected and the battery life is good. All in all its a good headset, and I am glad I bought it, just be careful where you place it, don't want to be knocking it off or standing on it.

This has been available in the US for a week or two now and this is a welcome appearance in the UK.For anyone who has the current white wireless headset the improvements are apparent straight away. It' much more comfortable, the sound quality is much clearer, it seems to pick up voice a lot easier and it just generally feels like it's a more quality piece of hardware. You get a couple of extra foam covers included with it but it's comfortable enough without them, a bonus considering how quickly I always seem to lose the silly things! The added bonus is that as well as working on the proprietary 360 wireless channels it also works on the normal Bluetooth channels so can be used elsewhere. All in all,if you are looking at a wireless headset for the 360 then this probably should be the number 1 choice.

I've been using the Xbox 360 Wireless headset for some time and been very happy with it. I also use a Bluetooth headset for my PS3 and have to switch between them and keep them both charged. This is therefore ideal for me as i now have one headset that I can use for both of them. Once it is paired with the PS3 and connected with the 360 then you just switch between them at the flick of a switch on the side of it. The headset is charged via a USB cable you can plug into either. The sound quality is improved from the previous headset and is very clear. The microphone quality also seems improved and produces a nice clear sound. The headset also feels more comfortable and flexible.Overall a nicelyimproved headset that would also function well as a general Bluetooth headset at a fair price.

I have gone through many Xbox headsets, obviously the ones that come with your machine are rubbish so l decided to get a cheap pair of Turtle beaches that lasted less than 8 months. Stupidly l bought a second pair that lasted 8 WEEKS and lm careful with my tech but the headphone/mic connection went. I Then thought ld go expensive and bought some Triton detonators and they are great apart from they hurt my ears after a hour. A friend recommended the wireless Microsoft headset and at £20' l wasn't hopeful l admit. How wrong l was, it's superb! Pairing it to your console takes 30 seconds, charging 2 hours, battery life 8 hours. Sounds are crystal clear and the mic pick up excellent. Highly, highly recommended !!!!!!

This little gizmo is certainly an improvement over the earlier wireless headset, which looked aweful. This one is glossy slick black & fits neatly into the ear.Performance seems to be perfectly good for gaming (no complaints) & bluetooth performance seems fine, althou I tend not to use it for this as I have BT in my car.Syncing this gizmo to you xbox is easy enough (same as syncing your controller) and battery life easily lasts me a couple of weeks (I'm not a heavy gamer)The only problem with this is that the gloss plastic is now very stratched-up, a minor point really.Overall, there's no need to buy anything else unless you need closed-cup headphones or prefer a wired connection.Excellentproduct!

decent sound, fairly comfortable. I actually have two of them because of a mix-up and they are far more preferable to the wired headset which inevitably breaks everytime. Cheers microsoft, yeah i've been through 3 of those. These are still going strong after at least a year and I switch between them when one empties. Last a decent amount of time and if you charge at night, one would last you the full day easy. Annoying intermittent beeping when it's close to low battery is a bloody irritation and seems it would only drain the battery quicker, so not sure what they were thinking there but does the job if you don't wanna spend a ridiculous amount on turtle beach nonsense.

I actually mainly use it with my mobile, as a single ear device for listening to podcasts at night without waking my partner; the device acts like a normal pair bluetooth hi-fi stereo headphones when connected to the device - so all output from music apps etc goes directly to the headphones by default without any additional software or hacking.Although, apparently, great on an XBox 360, it's a really decent Bluetooth headset with long battery life that works with both the HFP (low hands-free / telephone call headset) mode of operation and the A2DP (higher quality, stereo although this is actually a mono device, hi-fi headphones) mode of operation.

Although I can't give it 5 stars I think 4 is fair. I've had this product for a while now; I like it and it's still working fine. The good:- Can be used for a range of devices such a computers, laptops, phones, tablets and not just the X-Box 360.- Can switch to bluetooth mode to answer a call on your phone whilst your playing X-Box.- Fits my ear good (Y)The bad:- The volume isn't so loud so when there is loads of background noise it can be difficult trying to hear who I'm speaking too.- In xbox mode you sometimes hear a clicking - doesn't irritate me but might othersOverall I would say it's a good product and defo worth buying.

This product is good, in that it's comfy, light, practical, easy to use, easy to set up and looks just as good as I expected. However, when in an xbox party occasionally my voice won't be picked up, or my headset won't pick up what other people say. I appreciate this happens with wired headsets sometimes too. However, for me, I think this device does it more often.I would recommend this product, however if you find one which has better ratings I'd go for that one. This is purely because it isn't ideal having to shout ont he odd occasion because your headset isn't picking up your voice.Good product.Better than wired headsets, by far.

10.12.2012

The headset itself is brilliant, if you are wanting to listen to music or something via Bluetooth then it is flawless, however when using it for Xbox live (which is what its primarily made for) to chat with friends or other players, I find that some player, not all, find it difficult to hear me. This may be down to the headset or it could be down to the player on the other sides fault.Overall would recommend as it is a pretty impressive piece of kit, and it is lovely to not have a wire to keep annoying you.PS the battery life on the headset is amazing, 7 hours easy from one charge non stop playing. Charges in around 30 mins.

12.9.2012

This is a great little headset that works on both my Xbox and iPhone, perfectly clear sound and easy to use.If like myself you have a 5.1 surround set up and don't want some huge earphones and mike attachment blocking the sound then this is the product you want. Much better sounding than the original Xbox headset, perfectly comfortable to wear for hours, and much more convenient.Note to those who have had problems with sound or low volumes - YOU HAVE A FAULTY HEADSET (It happens!) AND I SUGGEST YOU INFORM THE SUPPLIER AND GET A REPLACEMENT. Once you do, you should find it works perfectly and will have no complaints.

Bought originally to use with XBOX 360 but found it more useful as a wireless headphone for my Google Nexus 7 tablet. Brilliant for listening to podcasts and other speach based stuff (wouldn't bother with music as it is only mono) and once linked recognises automatically when bluetooth mode is on on the tablet. Have also hooked up to mobile phone. It has a good range, particularly if there are no major obstructions in the way, of upto 20-30ft. The reason I haven't used it with XBOX is because I found communicating anonymously with strangers a bit too wiered, not because it doesn't work well.
