I started off with a CBM Pet, then got an Atari XL, Various Amigas, then bought an Escom PC (Remember them?). I discovered how easy it was to build my own PCs and up until 2000, thats what I did, then I bought a blue iMac G3 as a family computer, initially I hated it, (No tinkering with BIOS settings etc), but gradually got to like it, so from that point on I have had Macs, (Various G3/G4 Powerbooks, a G5 PowerMac, Mac Pros (3,1, 4,1 (flashed to 5,1) and a 6,1), at present I'm rocking a MacBook Pro. I also have had various iPhones (Currently an iPhone 11 Pro Max), and have had various iPads, (2018 11" and a 12.9") So me buying a Windows Machine was a shock, however in the Boxing Day sales of a Major retailer, the SP7 i5, 8GB/256GB was reduced and I decided to give it a go. It was delivered and sat o the side for two days, as I had decided to return it. However, curiosity got the better of me and I opened it.After an eternity of Windows and App Store updates, I had a play and quite liked it.I bought an upgrade to Windows Professional from Amazon (Less than £8), added a 200GB San Disk Micro SD Card I had lying about, I then bought Office 365 (Bargain as for £8.99 a month all the family get Office and a 1TB of storage with one drive).I then picked up a Surface Pen (Compatible for £26.99).So far this Mac user is really enjoying the SP7. I also had a spare Plugable USB C Dock sitting about, this has HDMI, 3 USB A ports (5GB), 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, 1x USB C /3.1 Port. I discovered that if I plugged my Display that I use with my MacBook Pro to the Plugable Dock, used the USB Dongle I have with my MX Master Mouse and the Mechanical keyboard into another of the USB ports, my Logitech speakers are connected too. I can easily switch between Mac and SP7 by just swapping the USB C cable from the Mac to the SP7. And thats it. (The Mac also has a CalDigit Thunderbolt 3 Dock), adding TB3 is one of the two things I wish Microsoft had changed, the other being a different screen with smaller Bezels.Performance is remarkably good, on Geekbench 4 it scores better than my MacBook Pro.I have had no issues other than an occasional screen blanking out for about a second or so, (its only happened twice in 10 days of usage, but I'll keep an eye on it).I installed iCloud (Available from Apple's website) and it now synchs calendars, photos etc from iCloud, I also switched my iPhone to also upload photos to one drive.I have had no sign os Thermal throttling, and the device hasn't ever got too hot to hold, as a laptop Pc its awesome, as a Tablet, less good, Microsoft really need to do something there. One issue was slow wifi speeds, but that took about 3 seconds to sort by changing a setting on the wifi adapted. (Google it if you have a similar issue).Battery life is around 5-7 hours depending on screen brightness and switching the slider to longer battery life. The black colour looks awesome but I read that on the previous Surface Pro, the paint can flake (its a Magnesium Chassis, so cannot have the same anodising treatment of the Apple line which are aluminium). So to summarise, its a great machine, I prefer it as a carry anywhere device to my iPad Pro, (even with iPadOS), although when I need a tablet, its the iPad I reach for.So if you are in the market for a powerful machine, thats portable and prefer a full blown OS to a modified Phone OS, then you should add the SP7 to your list.Oh and the clincher for me? I love to play Command & Conquer Generals on the Mac, and macOS Catalina insists that apps are 64 bit, Aspyr haven't upgraded it yet (despite saying they will o the App Store), I got a great deal on all the Command & Conquer games off of the Origin site.I hope this helps you make your decision and if you have any questions, I will be glad to assist you.

I bought it for my wife - she's now using a grown-up machine (she had an Android tablet before). Windows 10 has been a bit of a culture-shock for her, but given the weeks of gentle coaching, she's beginning to appreciate the benefits. With a few more weeks, she'll be getting even more confident (and venturing into the more powerful control it makes available). It's good to be able to install software that is more mature than you can get on Android machines - the scope of what you can do on the computer has gone up a large step.Apart from that, the hardware is very good. Having the keyboard is also a big boon - just to be able to control the position of the cursor in text operations makes it allworthwhile :-)

If you have a sp6 don't bother to upgrade as theres barley any difference however this is my first surface its fast beautifully built but expensive I brought mine for photo edits as I'm a pro photographer and for digital art it handles these with ease instant on helps make it feel like a tablet and it feels fast all the time only thing that let's it down are some of the software bugs but that's due to windows rather then the tablet and iv had it a couple of months now and there are less and less bugs if you need a portable PC were u can take off the keyboard this is the best out there

As an everyday computer it does the job nicely. The screen looks great, it's extremely portable, and it's very responsive for average computing needs. Especially with the new Ice Lake processor in it.However, if you're an artist/user of Photoshop it can be very slow and has performance issues. so, as an artist I wouldn't recommend this version of the machine, I'd go for the i7 or the 16GB version. That's the only reason I returned it.If you're going to use it for light productivity, social media, and watching Netflix etc on, then it's great.

Artists review, surface pro 7 is the first i've owned in the surface line and wont be the the last.i was hard pressed between the ipad pro or the surface and chocing isnt easy as both offer a ranger of features though with the surface being a laptop running windows 10.the artiat side of the device isn't overly impressive, the screen is limited compared to other drawing devices, pen jitter is on real as the surface pro uses N-trig for its pen technology.

With 5 years spent with my Tab S2 and After spending weeks of deciding on my next big Tablet /Laptop. Spilt between this, the pro 6, and Tab S6 I finally decided on this. Happy with my choice, love the look, the feel and size of this. Though I would say overpriced I don't regret my choice and i can't get enough of this. One negative I will say is I don't get much from the advertised battery life, bearing in mind I have alot of media usage.

Possibly the best little computer I've ever had. I use it a lot more than my old Laptop and Tablet combined - simply because it's much easier when you only have to carry around a single device. The build quality is fantastic, the device is well put together from premium materials and is small, light with excellent performance!Glad I made this purchase and will probably stick with this line in the future.

Great laptop which was easy to set up. Having problems with facial recognition log in but that’s a minor thing as this is the first time I’ve had a laptop that uses it. So password log in is normal for be. Screen appears to be scratch proof which is awesome. Always wanted a Surface Pro because it was less restrictive then an Apple iPad. So far very happy I brought it.

Was looking for a laptop/ tablet, researched for months and off the back of reviews chose the surface pro, very happy with the product, only down side is the battery life although I have had this for two weeks I have not used much but will find out how good the battery life is once I start to use for work purposes.

amazing device, best of both laptop and tablet, light and very easy to set up and use, just wish I'd bought one when they were first released. Much better than an ipad, keyboard is a must accessory, shame it doesn't come with the surface pro as standard. Overall 10/10

This has been one of my best purchases and so easy through Argos. Peace of mind is guaranteed. It’s turned out to be what I’d expected. Now it’s a case of familiarising myself with all the ins and outs. Thank you Argos.

The surface pro series has always been great. But the price for the i5 8g ram version is so cheap now and it's lightning fast. And it now finally has USB-C!

Great tablet or laptop, to be honest this the second surface pro I've bought. They are a good value and quality product.
