My last pair of Merrells has lasted me at least 10 years. I can't rate this make/design highly enough. They are comfortable, good looking and hard wearing. I love the fact that the straps are adjustable as my feet do not match eachother and are pretty cronky. The sole is thick enough not to feel stones but still flexible. I used my last pair for swimming and paddling through the summer which didn't harm them. I really hammered them; they did a lot of miles plus they were my 'go to' footwear for everyday use. They need no upkeep, you just rinse them and dry them naturally, and actually, I just wear them wet, they dry pretty quickly and do the same job wet or dry.

I must be one of the most difficult people to shoe! Since a child I have liked having my feet bare whenever possible. I struggled with fashionable shoes and sore feet when I was young. I am now seventy so don’t care! Fit Flops are fine and I have about eight pairs. After a very nasty fall entirely due to standing in a deep pothole after getting out of the car when everyone blamed my “silly” Fit Flops and not the pothole, plus touring holidays where the ground is uneven, cobbled, rough etc. I decided to invest in sandals from a well known reputable source catering for older ladies. The sandals were not cheap. They had, like all the sandals I tried, suede inner soles.

I have had many pairs (at least six) of these Sandles, that's not to say they don't last I do a lot of dog walking, forest tracks etc and so give them a lot of abuse. I find them really comfortable, they have never rubbed even after a really long walk when I did think my walking boots might have been an alternative choice. They usually last me 2-3 years a pair but this is because I've got them wet and they have started to smell; the crease where they attach to the sole seems to catch moisture and not fully dry out (but I do walk through dew covered grass at times so probably my own fault). The last pair the sole wore out but as I say I am probably an extreme user. I without hesitation fully recommend these on comfort,

I took a punt with these because I knew I was heading off to Paris for 4 days and that it was going to be very hot, and that I was going to be doing loads of walking so I needed something supportive. I paid a bit extra to get them delivered quickly, took them out of the box, put them straight on and wore nothing else for 4 days. I took plasters, anticipating the inevitable blisters and sore bits that are an inevitable part of any new shoes, but it was like wearing slippers from the word go. They were perfect – comfy, cool, supportive and actually a lot less frumpy than I'd expected! I've lived in them pretty much every day since (including two weeks of walking in Italy in 40 degree heat!)

Been meaning to write reviews but keep putting it off but i wouldn't want someone to miss out on these. I bought these in my correct size and they fit fine. I have difficult distorted feet with big bunions. I have already glowingly reviewed the Merrell hiking boots I took on a 4 week hiking holiday in Costa Rica in February. I took those and these hiking sandals with me. These were also fantastic; very comfortable and strong and practical. It was sometimes very hot and humid and when we were not in snake territory in the forests or in town it was great to be able to wear these sandals. I cannot recommend these highly enough if you care about being comfortable.

I am in India as I write this.So far I have worn them every day, they are not the prettiest fashion wise and at first was not keen on teh colour. However because of the very neutral colour they go with everything I wear.I have walked down the very broken cobblestones and pavements and had to jump out the way of bikes etc and they have help up amazing. Been on v long walks too and they are very comfy.Its 36 degrees here atm and my feet are not hot and sweaty at all, they are very breathable yet my feet are protected enough that I am not scared of something hitting my feet or stubbing them etc.Recommend them highly!P.S Just in work in India and dropped coke all over my feet.

Brilliant hiking sandals. These are the best sandals of this type that I have ever purchased. I am a size 6 and they fit perfectly. They have good ankle support for walking and are adjustible width wise across the toes and ankle strap.I got these in May and have worn them virtually every day since. They are without doubt the most comfortable pair of sandals I have ever worn.So far they have been on 3 walking holidays and I wear them on a daily basis.I dread the weather turning colder/wetter as I will have to revert back to shoes and boots.Even after wearing daily for 4 months, they look like new and are just as comfortable.I would highly recommend to anyone who does alot of walking like I do.Fantastic footwear.

I live in a mountain town in Southern Spain so good walking boots and sandals are essential. Two friends who live here have worn Merrell kahuna and found them comfortable and perfect for our terrain. As one friend has the same size foot I was able to try her new pair before purchasing mine. I have a fairly broad foot and often go for a broad fitting shoe to accomodate a bunion, but I'm pleased to say these are perfect. Good ankle support and a wonderful solid sole with really good holding, which I have tested on a wet slippery slope going down from my home. These are my first Merrell's and won't be my last! My next purchase will be new walking shoes for the winter!

I am really pleased with these. They are very sturdy and supportive without looking too clompy. Not stylish but that wasn't the reason I bought them. The straps are wide and fit the foot closely to the sole so I didn't have any issues with little stones creeping in. The fit is great for me and the straps are adjustable. Plenty of depth on the sole so you can't feel the rough walking surface. I normally wear Merrell Walking Shoes as I walk about 8kms a day but in warmer weather they get a bit hot so these fit the task perfectly. On first wear which was intended as a trial for them, I walked 4kms without any socks and had no issues at all. Highly recommend.

This is my third pair of Merrill Kahunas, and as always I am delighted. They fit like gloves and were like wearing a pair of favourite slippers straight from the box. Previous pairs have been used for walks of up to 8 miles over a variety of terrains and I've never had any issues. My only complaint is that previous pairs have become very 'aromatic' in spite of having been put through the wash several times!! From a functional point of view they last well - uppers are still perfect and the sole only slightly worn on the right shoe after significant use over a two year period. I have no hesitation in recommending either the sandals or the distributer.

When my faithful Rohan sandals finally gave up the ghost I needed something decent to replace them - something that can stand up to rugged terrain, not just a walk to the shops. I decided on these Merrells based on customer reviews, but winced at the price - if they weren't up-to-scratch it could have been an expensive mistake. I have been out on a 10 mile walk with them - no blisters and they are really comfy. I thought the footbed was a bit thin when they arrived but the Vibram soles seem to be doing their job - my feet feel cushioned. If I can get several year's wear out of them they will have been worth the money.

Bought these to replace an identical pair I've had for years and practically worn out. They've survived trekking in thick mud in tropical rain forests yet are smart enough for town wear too. Waited ages until Amazon had them back in stock as I didn't want to try a different style. My daughter thought they were so nice she promptly ordered herself a pair too.Merrell quality seems to have declined drastically. I have only worn this pair on three 1-week holidays and the soles of both shoes are falling off! This is not what I expected after the first pair survived 12 years before starting to have problems with the soles

I love these sandals - I had some years ago and I always loved them and wore them till they fell apart. I had a gap of not having Merrell sandals and I had this desire to get some again. I must admit that I was disappointed that there are no half sizes because I am actually 6 1/2, so I ordered this pair size 7 and they were way too big. I exchanged them for size 6 and they are just about big enough but could do with that extra half size. I still love them, and they are very comfortable. I would recommend them to any women who like walking in hot climates. They are very practical.

OK, received it today and wearing it already. It looks like it will take a few days to wear in but that's ok. The colour on the screen is taupe but does not match the colour I received which is more dark beige. I would've prefered a slightly darker colour like the one advertised. I'm a size 6.5 and bought a 7 which is a perfect fit, so if you are in between sizes or have wide feet, I suggest the half size up. It looks very solid and should last a few years. I have been wearing Merrell boots all winter and have been extremely impressed by this brand.

I have arthritis pain in both my big toe joints and struggle to find shoes that I can wear for any extended period of time - Fitflops cut right across the joint and my birkenstock sandals cut right underneath it. I do a lot of dog walking and these sandals are extremely comfortable on stony, uneven surfaces for long periods of time - they keep the soles of my feet warm on cooler mornings and cool on hot days. I have had no trouble with blisters. They look OK with a skirt too! They are expensive, but hope they will last many years.
