I originally ordered the Thermo 8 boots but cancelled and went for the Thermo 6 version as I decided the higher ankle on the Thermo 8 would be just too high based on reviews of both products;.Both versions were available on Amazon Lighting Deals and I paid around £60 for the Thermo 6.I normally take size 12 or 13 boot depending on make but opted for the larger size on this occasion again based on other reviews.First impression was that the boots were a snug fit and indeed they did take a little bit of perseverance to wear in and get used too with the first few outings being mildly uncomfortable in the ankle region. However this soon passed and like any boot it is important to wear good quality socks. They were initially used as hiking boots in very wet and muddy conditions with no issues, they remained warm and dry. The deep treaded Vibram soles proved excellent in terms of grip. The uppers are easy to clean and they have a slightly odd "rubbery" type coating on the outside although this does not detract from them in my opinion, indeed it makes them simple to wash.I then used them in the French Alps which is the reason they were purchased in the first place. I no longer ski but go winter trekking and this is where they really proved their worth. During the week we had over 40 inches of snow and they were exposed to all sorts of conditions including ice, powder snow, compacted snow, slush, water etc. They were used on their own, with ice grips and with snowshoes at high altitude and in every instance the boots came up trumps. They remained comfy, warm and dry and by the end of the week almost looked like the day they were bought although somewhat more supple. The only minor gripes are the cushioned insoles which can move slightly during the course of a long day / ruck slightly when taking the boots off, they needed repositioning when putting the boots back on and I may well invest in better insoles. In addition the laces must be done in a double bow as they untie uncannily easily if done with a single bow. However I tend to use double bows when trekking in any case.It is important to remember these are advertised as Snow Boots and may well be a bit stiff if you want them purely as a hiking / general boot however weatherproof and rugged they might be.Having said that I wore no other shoe for the entire Alps trip including restaurant / pub visits due to the nature of the weather and they felt comfortable the whole time. However outside of winter conditions as described above I would suggest a lighter suppler shoe may be more appropriate. All in all thoroughly pleased with this purchase although the normal selling price does seem a bit steep. I would definitely recommend them as fit for purpose based on the advertised intended use.

Purchased from Amazon, not a 3rd party seller.Look:Look great and feel great, Certainly like they would be suitable for the intended use.Fit / size:I found that these were a bit tighter than most. I ordered a Size 11 and 13. As the 12 (was sold out (I normally take an 11 or 12 depending on the finish) The 11 arrived the day after and they . However the sizing guide is a little off. I would say these are closer to a size 10.I did find that they were a little difficult to put on to start with, and when I gave up with them and decided to send them back I gave them to my father first who normally takes a 10-11 and had to use a shoehorn to get them on.Comfort:I would certainly say that these appear to be very comfortable (at least to try on)I often get cramps in my feet when trying on shoes or other footwear that is too tight however these expanded just enough to allow that not to happen.I would say that the tread is very deep. So as I haven't actually worn them outside yet that may be something to look out for.

Decent boot, warm and with a good grip in snow and ice. They're not too heavy, but are still robust. I'm fairly pleased with how they've lasted - about 9 months, used for short periods daily in all sorts of weather. I've walked in them, ridden in them and done yard work, and they've held up to it all until the constant flexing of the toe resulted in a split starting and losing the waterproofing. Overall, I'll probably buy another buy another pit soon.

With the weather changing and a cold front coming in these boot are ideal to keep me sure-footed. They are well made and light and the size I bought (8.5) fit nicely with enough room to breathe but snug enough to keep my feet warm. They support the foot arch keeping me balanced. The sole has loads of grip which should stop me from slipping over. Overall this has been a great investment which I recommend for anyone looking to get boots for the winter.

an amazing quality product and only £60 on black Friday. the feel of these boots is just amazing compared to anything iv had before. last year had some hitec boots off here for 30 and they were great , did the job and loved them but these make them pale into comparison - bit tight on the sides but i guess they are meant to support your foot when your climbing up hills etc. fantastic product.

Recently went skiing. Wearing these to play tobogganing and snow with my son in the resort. Felt so warm and very comfortable. Didn't get cold, sweat or wet feet at all. Best of all, it has excellent grip on both soft and hard snow.
