Bought these Merrell Annex as price was good and delivery was very quick. Also Amazon have excellent returns service if they were to fail or if I needed to return under warranty period.Have worn various Merrell shoes and trainers over the years and although some sellers unfortunately sell the fake ones, these are definitely the real deal..These particular Merrell Annex which I bought are advertised as the non-Goretex so are obviously not fully waterproof. They are very comfy walking shoes but cant comment what they are like for hiking.Shoes and the soles last a long time but this depends on usage.I wear Merrell shoes most days to work and can easily say by far that they are some of the comfiest shoes I have worn, but others will have their own opinions.Like the colour, very comfy shoes with orthotic type insoles, although you can remove insoles and replace with other insoles if required. Can,t comment regarding if they are waterproof or not, but them they were not advertised as waterproof as they are the non- Goretex shoes.I would have had to pay more for the waterproof ones.Highly recommend these Merrell shoes but that is only my personal opinion and others will have their own thoughts on these shoes.Hope this reviews helps others with your decision making!!

I love Merrell walking shoes. I use them for everyday walking, of which I do quite a lot as a result of working locally. I find they are incredibly comfortable and hard wearing. In my experience they last twice as long (at least) as cheaper alternatives and keep their inner comfort for longer, too. As others have said, it is worth sizing up slightly. I usually take a 9 but went for 9.5 and they feel great. I also know what some folk mean about feeling like the in-step is raised a little. I wondered if that would be a problem and would rub, but actually after a day or two it felt really comfortable and now feels like it supports my feet really well and like it is how my foot should be supported. No rub at all. The air in-sole is incredibly cushioned and feels great, the only issue being that it is not glued in so moves back each time that I take the shoe off and I have to readjust next time I wear them. Apparently, they make them that way so you can replace them when you need to. It is only a small inconvenience for a great shoe. I really like this one as it works brilliantly as an everyday show and looks really great too. Another winner. Well done, Merrell.

Size exactly as expected. As mentioned by another reviewer there is an initial feeling of having a tennis ball under the arch of the foot. However this concern evaporates after the first day, and thereafter is no longer intrusive in any way. .The shoes are otherwise comfortable straight from the box with very little wearing-in required. It is too soon to comment on durability. The nylon (?) lacing bar on the instep is an unusual feature, but I wonder if it is going to be an improvement over the traditiona leyelets which I would have preferred. The sole is a bit thin for a hiking shoe and could do with 50% more depth of treadUpdate 12 months on. The soles and insoles no longer cushion the stones in an unmade path. The inner lining in the heel area has now started to break up. In summary there is nothing exceptionally durable about these shoes, and do not justify the premium price over lower priced products. Theclacing bar has been fine. However, I do like the styling and they are comfortable - at least for a while. Grudgingly I have ordered another pair

I don't usually write reviews, but had to with these because I've been so impressed: these are incredibly durable shoes! One pair has lasted me a solid 2.5 years with daily wear around town, at work, to the gym, and on light hikes here in Colorado. The outer sole is finally showing wear and the leather doesn't look as sharp as it used too, so I'm about to pony up for another pair. I have owned plenty of shoes, and these are by far my favorite. They're comfortable, extremely durable, casual, and yet dressy enough to wear in an office setting. I searched for a while before buying and picked these to be a do-it-all shoe; Merrill exceeded my expectations. The waterproofing works well, but I never found them too warm in the summer. The soles grip well on almost any surface, including ice and packed snow. The leather cleans easily. They don't retain odor like some shoes seem to do. I always use a Superfeet Black (the thin one) insert so I can't vouch for the stock insole.

I bought these in Brown (Castle Rock/Calliste Green), and I have to say that they are much more green than brown. The picture shows them as brown, but they are much more green. However, as they will be used for dog walking I'm not that fussed and at the time of purchase they were the cheapest Merrells I could find (£41)This is my third pair of Merrells in 5 years and after trying Trespass, Karrimor and North face are now my go to walking shoe make.I am a UK11, but I find that a half size bigger fits me great, especially with thick socks.Update: Unfortunately, the first pair developed an annoying fault in both shoes. They were squeaking from the mid soles and they were very obvious.Organised a replacement pair, and unfortunately the left shoes has just started doing the same after only a couple of weeks.

I bought these a full size too big after reading the other reviews on Amazon. They sure would've been too tight if I'd bought the correct size, but I think half a size bigger than normal might've been enough. But I'm still OK with it, I don't mind my shoes slightly loose. They are extremely comfy. As all my other Merrell's, the build quality is excellent. Don't be put off by the photos and think that these are marginally bigger than trainers - they are actually quite big, too big to wear with jeans, the same profile as a low-cut walking boot I would say. Just got back from walking the dog in the rain, and they didn't let a drop in, despite being soaked. For long-termer waterproof walking shoes, you couldn't really ask for more.

I am very pleased with the shoes. They are very stylish and I've had several compliments on them. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would instead of 5 simply because as other reviewers have mentioned, the arch support is a bit too much in this shoe. However, after wearing them for a while my feet seem to adjust and I don't even notice it much. On a 1 - 10 scale, I'd rate the style as a 9.5 and the comfort as a 7. Nice shoe and very handsome.Update: I had to drop my rating from 5 to 4 because as others have mentioned, the left insert keeps sliding around. It's very annoying. I've never had a shoe do that before. However, the shoes do look great and I like the styling a lot! (12/17/16)

Very nice looking pair of Merrell hiking shoes, good quality as expected from Merrell, I got a half size bigger as my other Merrell Moab Ventilator were a bit tight also I’d read a lot of reviews about the sizing and while they are a little larger they fit ok and will be snugger with thicker walking socks, and yes as in other reviews the in-step does feel a little high but I’m sure my feet will get used to that, it actually feels like I’m getting more support which is good. As for the in-sole movement (again from other reviews) thus far I’ve had no issues with that. Overall very pleased with purchase and look forward to many hours walking/hiking in them.

Just received these shoes. They are a great, low-key color, with a nice sole that is not too chunky. I ordered these for a two week backpacking tour of Europe this march. Having tried them on I feel very positive about the nice toe box and arch support. That said I will be exchanging them for a half size smaller. I am typically an 8.5 men's which is what I ordered and received. While I'm happy enough with the spare toe room, the extra length won't allow my heal to fit securely in this shoe. My hope is that these just run long and the smaller size will correct the heal slippage. A+ on all other features and I will update my review as soon as I exchange.

A quality pair of walking/hiking shoes. I understand the high/noticeable arch issue on first putting them on, but this is arguably part of the design of the shoe to make it great for long walks. A different pair of insoles does lessen the arch as does wearing the shoe in. Most hiking boots I have had over 40 years have required some walking in and have been the better for it.4 stars because I want proper waterproofing at this price. I can live without it for this pair but will reach for my Hi-Tec waterproof hiking boots when there is more than a hint of rain or I want ankle support for rocky or uneven terrain.

Bought my first pair of Merrell boots in December and absolutely live them. While looking on their website these caught my eye as a lower top summer hiking/backpacking shoe so I picked them up off Amazon. I really like these shoes, the color scheme (the blue ones), also the fit, traction, and their water resistance. I did find that with the insoles in that they came with were too snug around the top of my foot, so I took the insoles out and they feel great. My All Out Blaze Mid's don't come with an insole and are meant to be worn without them so I applied the same concept to these and they are awesome!

I ordered these in a size 11 after reading other reviews stating that it's a good idea to order a size up with Merrell. Well, the size 11 were a size 11 and were too big. Reordered a size 10- perfect fit. This is my first pair of Merrells and I love them! They are awesome- great build quality and they look very cool. Some people have mentioned that they have high arches and this is true. Fortunately I have high arches but I can see that these would be uncomfortable if I didn't. Also I went into a well known outdoors based shop and these were £95- got the brown ones on Amazon for £59!

These Annex walking shoes fit me like a glove and they have sufficient arch support that I don't need to put in a fancy replacement for a change. In fact my gel insoles are too fat. The slim, fitted replaceable insole that comes with the shoe is sufficient for standard daily wear. Frankly, the shoes fit me perfectly as is and will do fine for routine walking. I bought the blue wing and the dark grey because I like this style. The upper has suedelike finish which is warmer than my breathable workout shoes, but this will be a practical stylish shoe for winter activities indoors.

I nearly returned this shoe because the arch felt pretty aggressive and uncomfortable initially. I don't have flat feet so I never experienced that with a shoe before. After wearing them around the house a few days the arch issue dissipated and they're fine now. My other complaint is the insoles can slide backwards while walking around. I'm going to contact Merrell about this and see if they can provide a less flimsy insole that will stay put. I wear 11.5 in most brands and this fit perfectly. Overall this is a good shoe especially for the winter months.

Those shoes are amazing, but the size is incorrect. I had to take one size bigger than I usually take, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.I've bought them for my 3 week active trip, but since I've got them I use them for everyday. There are very comfortable and I'm very pleased that I've bought them. I agree with other comments too that the air in-sole feels great, but it is not glued in and moves back and forth. In overall one of the best shoes I've owned. BTW my wife also has a pair of Merrell shoes (womens) and she finds them very comfortable too.
