For me this is a perfect example of what the Nintendo Wii is great at, simple idea, great gameplay, intuitive control system. Result = great game! The premise is quite simply to tilt the landscape to roll your little blob of mercury to its destination. The game is split into hundreds of levels, each with its own puzzles, mazes, traps etc to navigate. There are also little baddies dotted around who will try to eat you occasionally. The graphics are colourful and effective, but never get themselves tangled up in over elaborate detail or 3Dness.The gameplay is very addictive, you find yourselve always wanting to go just one more level. The music and sound effects are good, music never gets repetetive (good thing given how long you end up playing) with a seemingly endless rotation of songs and genres. I also love the sad noise your mercury makes when it falls of the edge. The control system is perfect, easy to pick up yet tricky to master. You forget your actually holding a remote your so engrossed. So why not 5 out of 5? I've given a 4 for a few simple reasons, mainly more features that could have been included:- Multiplayer play? OK its not essential in a game like this but would be fun- Option to play your own music in game via memory card? Would be perfectly suited to the hours of gameplay- On line features? Again not essential, but surely theres potential there.Hopefully these will be included in the sequel!Overall an entertaining, genuinely fun game thats definetly worth investing in.

Really enjoying this game at the moment. A simple premise, coupled with well-executed controls and well-designed levels make this fun from the start. Taking those 3 in order:Premise: The aim is to get your blob of mercury from the start of the 'maze' to the finish, overcoming various obstacles on the way. Sounds simple because it is, and the game is all the better for it.Controls: Only played this with the Wiimote. You hold it in two hands like a traditional joypad, and tilt it forward, backward, left and right. This tilts the maze, and moves your blob (or blobs) around.Levels: Some strokes of genius on show. Lots of obstacles, including crumbling blocks, repellers, attractors, ice, travelators etc etc. Levels are very very well designed, some of the best I've seen. Clearly a lot of thought went into them. There are no issues with longevity, there are many levels, and you can always replay them to try to improve your best score. One of the best features of this game is the fact you can split your blob into two or more smaller blobs, then move them through the paintshops, before joining them back together in different colours (eg blue + green = turquoise). The last game of this style I enjoyed as much was 'Kula World' on the PSone. High praise indeed! It should be good for the kids aswell, although all the different objects on a level might confuse the younger ones. The way the Wiimote is used means there should be no issues with young hands being too small to control the game effectively.

There is no doubt that the wii controller suits this type of game like hand in glove. You may as well get some mercury and practice on a serving tray as the response from the remote is just as accurate!. Really enjoy this game. Not as complex and as hard going as I would hope but if you take the time deadline and "get as many points as you can" aspect into the game, then it take on a real challenging piece of gameplay. Graphics are well presented that make you smile everytime you enter a new level. There are two ways of aproaching this game, take your time and still manage to complete the level or, complete the level as quicky as poss to gain more points, this means my 4 year old can enjoy it so can I!!Well worth a go,especially with a group of freinds.

If you are getting RSI from too many games that want you to shake or spin the controller far too fast, and want a slower game that makes you stop and think for a bit, then this is great fun. There is a lot of accuracy required, and occaisionally some fast responses. Despite the games normal gentle speed, however, the adrenaline still starts to quickly gather, especially in the games where you have to split the mercury, and control all parts at once without losing any over the edge.Great fun, and very absorbing. Its also nice that you can unlock levels without having to get absolutely everything right,so you can have levels you just give up on for now if they are just too maddening to continue with!

This is a great and imaginative title. I didn't know it had already been out on other platforms because it seems made for the wii. Controls are intuitive and great to use. My only gripe is that it does get hard very quickly, and it would have been nice to get more of a build up to the tougher levels. You don't just roll the mercury through a maze. There are trip-switches, panels that freeze the mercury or liquify it even more and even spray paint it!! Take it from me splitting your mercury into three, colouring each piece and getting it back together against the clock is tricky!

my nephew has mercury for his psp,i played on it and found i couldn,t put it down,i then found out it was coming to wii so i ordered it.best buy game in a while, very easy to play, hard to stop playing, wonderfully addictive, levels get increasingly tougher as you get better,a very polished game.i love it as it reminds me of an old arcade game i played called marble madness, the play style is very similar,a trackball might have made mercury even more devilishly addictive. If you like puzzle games then this is a must buy.

This is a great puzzle style game. It involves taking a mercury drop to a specific goal, by splitting it and coloring it for the right puzzles. It makes good use of the Wii controllers. One of the most entertaining and quick games you can get on the Wii, and kids will love it too.
