4yo boy LOVES these - we have several and they always keep him entertained for far longer than you might anticipate!The brush uses plain water - it unscrews to allow you to fill a small reservoir, then screws back on tightly. We've not had any problems with leakage. The reservoir lasts a long time - enough to complete the book 8-10 times in our experience.Each page starts with a black outline on a white page. Upon brushing water onto it, an image is revealed beneath, filling the outline with colours and details. In addition to the entertainment this provides, there is also a look and find aspect - on the back of each page are a selection of detail for children to find within the details that have been revealed.The book is five 'pages'

Awesome toy, I bought a couple of these for my little boy who was then 20 months old, thinking they might keep him (or me) entertained for a few minutes on a long haul flight that I was dreading - they have been so much more than I had hoped for, he very quickly caught on how to hold the pen and "colour" the pages, since it is chunky and easy to grip, and dispenses water very readily (yet without spilling). These not only brought on his motor skills, but kept him quiet during a long delay at the stopover airport and are great for playing "can you see the dog/butterfly/bird" etc as there are many hidden items (he could just about point but was no way ready for I spy or talking!) - he still loves them now,

I love these but you do have to watch little ones under 4 who aren’t gentle and scratch the card and who use soo much water on it as the item is basically cardboard which if gets too wet will break. I do however on all of these attach a piece of string through a hole I make in the top of the book just where the logo is and then I attach the other end of the string to the pen with tape so that my child can never drop the pen. I found with this book that the pen is easily dropped for a child and when I’m driving I don’t want to have to stop so I can pick the pen up for my child so what I have done fixes this issue and still allows the pen to be stored in the book when not in use. Bought as a present for my niece, who now owns a collection of these books. She is a tad heavy handed and tends to gouge the brush sometimes, but they have held up pretty well- only a few scrapes and holes in the pages. Definitely a lifesaver while travelling to keep the little ones entertained, and they are convinced that they have magical powers or a magical paintbrush. Whatever works!! No mess to clean up- even if they use too much of the brush all that happens is things get a wee bit wet, but it all dries up quickly enough. once the pages have dried, they can be reused time again. The pages are cardboard, so are pretty strong and don't bend or break easily. They definitely pass the toddler/

I tried one before (another brand) and was hesitating to buy this one but I have tried other products of this brand (wooden puzzles) and all of them seem to be very good. So, I took the risk of buying this one and I think it's very nice. Because of my girl is a but young for it, she haa scratched the surfaces a bit as she pushes the brush too hard but with older kids that can understand and care about their stuffs, i don't see this as a problem. It brings 4 different pictures and it takes a while to dry but probably less than 1 hour. I really like it and my girl loves it!

Bought this for my niece who was amazed with it! Didn't take her long to realise that you could lick the pages and get the same effect... yum... she has a magic tongue, apparently! lol Great item for on the go- no mess to worry about apart from a little water that dries in anyway. The pages dry out fairly quickly, so they can be reused for ages. If your little one is a bit heavy handed, the coating of the pages can be rubbed/ gouged away after a few weeks, but I can't fault the product for that! I would buy again, and have already bought other varieties of them.

These books contain 4 repaintable scenes. The fairy tale one contains rapunzel, a fairy, a princess and a mermaid. You put water into the paintbrush tank and when the page is painted a very colourful picture appears (and disappears again when the paper is dry), it’s about the size of a hardback novel and light so is easily portable for car journeys, cafes, other times when you might have to wait somewhere and need some entertainment for little ones. It’s one of our most used buys. One star deducted as the water doesn’t always come out of the brush easily.

These books are brilliant for long journeys, they kept my 2 and 4 year olds very happy last year on a car trip from Glasgow to the Peak District and beyond. No need for constantly dropeed coloured pens rolling around the floor and children do seem to like being in charge of anything to do with water don't they, so it's a win-win. The books dry out and can be used over and over - ours certainly were. I've bought two new ones for this year's summer holiday flights because eventually they do get a bit dog-eared, but all in all highly recommended.

I was only introduced to these water books recently and our 2 year old loves them (she's got 3 different ones now!). They are particularly useful while travelling and in the car. Only thing that would make them better would be somewhere you could actually keep the pen (from what I can tell, once you've taken the pen out, that little compartment becomes redundant), to prevent losing it and/or water oozing from it into your bag! Other than that they are great.

My 2 year old loves these, and they keep her occupied (and quiet!) for at least an hour at a time. They are mess free so can be used anywhere, and would make a good alternative to watching tv on tablets in restaurants etc.The only downside is that if the pages get too saturated in water or the child presses too hard with the pen then the magic coating can start to come off. They last more than long enough for you to get your moneys worth though.

My 2 year old loves this. It is great at encouraging children to get used to holding pens/paint brushes. The water immediately changes the colour on the page which is vibrant and good quality. It dries and the colour disappears within 5-10 minutes so can be painted again and again. I highly recommend this for young children. As a parent, it's great because there's no mess left from painting

This is a great product! I know the packaging says 3 plus but my 18 months loves it and I'm happy for him to use it supervised to help develop his fine motor skills. The pictures are lovely and the entire concept is fabulous. We love Mellissa and Doug toys and this is no exception. Good quality, reasonably priced and lots of fun what's not to like.

My daughter, age 2, loves these and they keep her occupied for 20-30 minutes. I love that it’s just water and it’s great for play at home or on the go. The only downside is if the brush is left full and returned to the holder in the cover the water does leak out and warp the cardboard cover. Be sure you empty the brush before storing it.

My son absolutely loves this product, he is just getting into drawing so I was looking for something safe and clean for him to have fun with and it didn’t disappoint. The colours are great and easy to use. Easy to fill and no leaking. It dries well and you can reuse it again and again and it still be like new. Definitely recommend.

My 3 years old daughter loves it! We had 14 hours flight so I bought this. She was concentrated painting it for a long time. Before she didn't like colouring but after playing with this, somehow she got confident of colouring something and started to paint by herself.It was easy to use in the flight and didn't get messy at all.
