Obviously you get a lot for your money here: the visual style is really nice, the colours are really nice - unusually naturalistic but still fun, and the fact that there is an identical image underneath each piece makes it perfect for a child learning about the concept of puzzles.The reason why I don't give it 5 stars is the fact that in one of the corners, the board seems to have received a heavy bump as the corner and the front of the board are tarnished.It's purely cosmetic and doesn't affect the usability of the puzzle, but still, when you receive a really nice piece like this, it's just ugh to open and find this damage. Why can't people handle items with care instead of just throwing it around like the planet had infinite ressources.

It isn't the best quality, but at that price I can't fault it. My 2 year old were able to put this together so fast, and loves making the animal noises. However, she also likes chewing on it, as the pictures show. The good news is that it doesn't seem to be made of anything harmful, so she is probably just getting a bit extra fiber in her diet. (I guess she'll like bacon and egg, her favorite chews are the pig and the chicken.) The bad news is that obviously this isn't the most solidly made jigsaw. No choking hazards though, it is not like big bits are coming off. I would still recommend it, but be aware that it is chew-able bordering on edible.

Value more the money. Lovely looking peg puzzle, I've bought it for Christmas. I wouldn't buy another though. As I bought it for my 15 month old and he likes to chew on things. The pictures on the pieces are a thin sticker and easy to scratch off. The edges around the pwg pieces are a bit rough also. You could get a splinter from it quite easily. For the money it's good though. I would recommend them for children who don't chew on toys. Keep them away from liquids x

My own children loved these puzzles as children so I bought for granddaughter and it was well received. She quickly picked out the animals and tried putting them back in . . . not successfully at first attempts. Puzzle was great as it does have the picture of the animal still on the board after pieces are removed . . . a great help for a little one. I'm sure she'll perfect the manual dexterity to place in correct place fairly quickly. Great buy!

My 19 month old son loves cars and I thought this would be great for him. He has played with it everyday since we got it, he is able to match the pictures and slot them into place on his own using the little pegs. It has held up with being thrown around so far!The pictures are nice bright colours, though seem to be American vehicles. Great for teaching my so the different vehicles though.

I love Melissa and Doug puzzles. They are durable, chunky enough for the designated age groups, fun and look good enough to keep out and not clutter the place up. The "dress up" theme adds interest which means this puzzle will last and last and keep my daughters interest for years to come. She is nearly 2 and can manage putting the puzzle together but will learn the play aspect of it too!

Very good puzzle! Bright colours and the animals are not too cartoonish that it dumbs it down for babies. It's large and good size. The little handle are just right for little fingers to lift. Only downside I can see is that I wish it came in a storage box or something to secure the puzzle pieces when not in use, because otherwise it just falls off when storing away

Brilliant puzzles. You can't beat wooden puzzles, in my opinion. My Grandsons love playing with these. They are learning names and sounds as well as coordination. It's nice to have the pictures underneath too which helps them. (Please note names and sounds not included in puzzle but added by us adults!!) Lovely and sturdy. Really well made. Can't rate highly enough.

I bought this puzzle for my niece. It is great quality and well made as expected of a Melissa and Doug product. The best thing is it is different from the usual wooden peg puzzles of animals or letters and numbers. Obviously very pretty, pink and girly. She has had lots of fun changing the tops and tutus creating different outfits. Would definitely recommend.

My daughter loves it! Great peg puzzle with attractive pictures. Well made. My only concern is how small the legs are incase they ever were to come off can be a chocking hazard but I check everytime I give it to my daughter and they seem strong enough. The broad withstands being cleaned with a damp cloth aswell which I do regularly and there is no damage.

Great value for money for a wooden puzzle. The board and prices are nice and thick with little pegs to make it easier to pick them up. A bit disappointed as even after only a few uses the pieces and holes in the board as chipping round the edges so looking a bit worn and sorry for itself already. But great apart from that and my boy loves it!

I got this for my twin boys that are 22months and they love it. It has really helped them with hand eye coordination. Been boys they love cars trucks and anything with wheels. So it keeps them coming back every day to master the puzzle. It is hard wearing and can put up with two wee ones wrecking about and throwing things around.

Just right for our 16 month grandson, he identified with the animals and makes an attempt to put the correct pieces back. This type of puzzle better than some others because the picture of the same animal is underneath the puzzle piece, making identification of what goes where easier for very small children. Sturdy and safe.

My two year old loves this although she can confidently master this now after having it for around 6 months. The pictures in the board and the pieces help them to see where each puzzle piece should fit. We’ve now moved on to slightly harder puzzles but this is a great starting point. Pieces are easy for small hand to pick up

Brought for my daughter who was 18 month old at the time and she was just taking interest in vehicles. She was able to use this puzzle with ease and it was a good introductory toy by Melissa and Doug and it’s priced reasonably.. it would not be suitable when your baby is putting pieces in mouth as it’s one surface is paper.
