The Kingdoms expansion allows you to play four new campaigns. See more details of each below. I really enjoyed this expansion's campaigns better than even regular Medieval 2 Total War. These campaign had a more genuine historical feel. The gameplay is mostly the same as the original, but each campaign has some slight differences as well as new factions and units. I've been playing this off and on for several years and still love it. If you like the Total War series then you should get this game.Crusades CampaignAssassins were extremely deadly in this campaign. I had to send leaders around with an entourage of assassins and spies to prevent them from getting killed. King Baldwin got killed in the first 5 turns of play.I lost two other generals to the assassins blade even with protection. The historical background is not very actuate. The game starts in 1174 AD after the death of King Amalric with King Baldwin the Leper King as the fraction leader. Again game years move too fast. It is cool when the 3rd crusade starts in the game as the player gets control of one of the commanders of the crusade and some additional troops. Jerusalem gets King Richard I of England Coeur-du-Lion and the Principality of Antioch gets King Philip Augustus of France. Regardless of the historical inaccuracies it is fun to take it to the Saracens with King Richard. It might have been more fun if the game had started off with the opening of the 3rd crusade with the objective to retake Jerusalem from Saladin. The 4th crusade also occurs during the game. A new faction (Venice) is created which lands at Constantinople. I was not able to see much of this as I haven't played the Byzantines yet, but I imagine that would be a fun twist.Americas CampaignI didn't really enjoy the Americas campaign all that much. You can play as the Spanish, Mayans, Aztecs, Apaches, and several other tribes I have never heard of (Chichimec, Tlaxcalans, and Tarascans). I played as the Spanish which I wouldn't recommend as it was too easy. You do get to use firearms in this campaign, but due to rate of fire infantry and cavalry units rule the field. I would recommend playing as one of the smaller tribes to get more of a challenge.Britannia CampaignI found the Britannia Campaign fun and exciting. It takes place in the reign of Henry III and his son Edward I. William Wallace also makes an appearance. The biggest difference in this campaign is that culture and not religion is used. The level of culture allows you to recruit different units. You can even recruit enemy culture units, but this access is quickly lost as your culture dominates. Culture seems to shift too rapidly which deteriorates this interesting feature.Teutonic CampaignThe Teutonic campaign lets you engage in the northern crusades. Conquer or defend Lithuania or Novgorod from the Teutonic Knights, Mongols, Danes, and Poles. This campaign also uses religion which restricts which units you can recruit. As a added twist, you can switch from Paganism to Christianity as the Lithuanians (which really occurred). I would recommend reading

I originally bought this expansion for the third age mod (which is a great mod, plus it's free) and then decided to use it in my regular save file. It's brilliant. Adds more territories, units and factions to the game, making it even more exciting. It's just all round a great expansion. I would certainly not think twice about buying this If I were you!

Great fun. Only played the Britannia campaign so far . AI was poor for 1st few battles doing strange things when attacking my cities but since then back to normal which admittedly isn't perfect but still tough to beat. Otherwise am immersed in the game and can't get enough

Still an amazing classic. Adds new things to the original game & if you ever get bored the Third age mod that works with this ALWAYS brings new life to this game
