I thought this was a very decent mascara - lots of volume in just one coat but absolutely no clumping or fibres. It managed to make my lashes look a lot denser but not unnatural in any way. The brush is quite big, which makes it hard to get right to the root of your lashes but actually I didn't find this detrimental as I still got a good lift to them. The fatter middle of the brush means you can choose to coat specific areas like just the outer edge or just the middle of the lashes if you want to, and this then gives a more natural look too. I'm aware that by using the word natural repeatedly I'm probably downplaying the volume so please don't be fooled into thinking you don't much increase in the size of your lashes - you do - its just done in a nice non-spidery way.I like the fat,

This mascara is indeed colossal, just as Maybelline promises. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger, fatter brush. Unfortunately for me, because the width of the brush is so big, I had to apply very carefully and slowly to prevent the mascara smudging my lids and inner corners. I usually apply mascara starting at the base of the lashes, and jiggle the brush towards the tips for good effect. There was no way I could do that with this brush.The formula is excellent – not a hint of clogging, and as a contact lens wearer, there was no irritation whatsoever. This is an incredibly good mascara at a quite high price, although with this mascara you certainly get what you pay for.Maybelline's New York Volume Express Mascara in 'Very Black' is a volumising mascara. The case holding the mascara is bright yellow which makes it very easy to find in the depths of your handbag. The mascara measures 12.7cm in length from lid to base and 2.5cm width at its widest, the wand measures 7.5cm and the brush measures a decent 3cm in length and 1cm in width.The black is a jet coal black which enables you to produce dramatic definition around the eyes with lashes that almost defy gravity. This mascara is certainly easy to spot in your make up bag – it is bright yellow and looks fun (possibly packaged for a younger customer than me). This promises volume and says it is waterproof. I happened to try out a slightly different version of this mascara on a day when it poured with rain and I can attest that it does not run, and is waterproof. This does take some effort to remove though, although, on the plus side, it means that it has staying power.This promises 7 times more volume and no clumping. This did clump slightly, but not as badly as other brands I have used. The applicator brush was larger than average and, along with the dark colour (extreme black), it certainly did give more volume.

To the uninitiated, mascara is mascara, but supposedly this is not the case. The difference between some poor stuff and decent stuff could be sore eyes by the end of the day and eyelashes that have several different shades as the roots come through. The ‘Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Mascara’ does a great job for a couple of reasons; the brush itself is very well designed and is great at applying to individual eyelashes so that you are well covered. The other reason is that it lasts a good length of time, easily a night without having to be reapplied.The colour tried was Leather Black, which is a standard black colour, but has a slightly matt finish to it.

I've bought dozens of mascaras over the past few years, but was never really satisfied with any of them; most of them seemed to clump, and often the brush was too short, making the mascara difficult to apply.Then I came across the Maybelline "Go Extreme" range, and I've never looked back. This is a truly excellent product - the brush is designed to separate the lashes, making them look longer, and the mascara is just the right consistency: not too thin as the make it watery, but not so thick that your lashes stick together in a clump. As an added bonus, the mascara lasts all day on your eyelashes, and looks as fresh at the end of the day as it did when you first applied it.

This is a good everyday mascara - would I say the words "colossal"and "go extreme" describe the results? No but then I'm not a make up marketing exec! The results are no better or worse than other mascaras with similarly hyperbolic names! My lashes were coated with a couple of coats - the brush was nice and fat but was bristle rather than comb style (which I prefer) the colour was a deep black - perhaps a bit more matte than usual mascaras but not massively so (I'm not sure what leather black is supposed to be so can't comment on whether it is or isn't "leathery!!) the mascara lasted all day - it did make my lashes look longer and fuller and it was easy to remove with eye make up remover.

Another chunky packaged Mascara from Maybelline. I do feel the packaging is over the top for the amount of product inside, but I guess it is to glorify the "Colossal" aspect of the branding. Let me be straight with you, I genuinely do not feel that this mascara gives you colossal lashes or makes them grow or anything that the blurb or adverts might state... the fact is that the mascara coats the lashes, which does give them an enhanced look, simply because they are coated with product! There is no real science to it, it is just obvious that if you coat something in an extra layer of whatever, it will look bigger! It is not extreme at all and works as well as any other good mascara.

This, along with every other mascara from Maybelline is a great, with a wonderful wand, according to my mother! The wand itself is excellent - it's not made of the traditional bristles you've come to expect, but a wand made rubber spikes, which do a great job at separating the lashes more effectively than a traditional wand. The look of the lashes after using this product is great, and look greatly improved with the appearance of greater volume and more length. As for the claims for it being waterproof, they are 100% founded - my mother had this product on all day and even forgot to take it off before bed. She woke up without any trace of panda eye!

I have very long eye lashes, but they are quite fine, so I only use a mascara that will give my lashes volume.I have used this mascara in the past, but my go-to daily mascara is Max Factor 2000 Calorie, and Benefit Bad Gal for special occasions. This mascara would fit nicely in the daily mascara category. It gives my lashes decent volume, but not too over the top. The brush is big, which means I often end up with mascara on my eyelids, but with my lashes being so long this is a common problem anyway.I'm not keen on the bright yellow packaging, it does make it seem too cheap. However, if the price wasn't bad I wouldn't hesitate buying this again in the future.

This is a nice mascara. The formula is good, i found that with 2 coats it goes on well without clumping and I only got transfer or flaking at the end of the day. For the price, this is great. My problem though is that the brush is large and it can be difficult to apply to the inner corners of the eye without smudging. i think with practice it will become easier but I would prefer a smaller brush, or one with a tapered end that would allow me to easily get to these areas.I like the packaging, the tube is chunky and very easy to hold. The bright yellow certainly stands out in my make up bag, making it easy to locate.

The Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Mascara, Leather Black arrives in a nice eye appealing bottle with a very good brush that suggest quality and good quality product. The Mascara is easy yo be apply evenly across eyelashes and this produces nice thick bold lashes. It leaves a good lasting impression on my eyelashes all day, I am familiar with this product and have used it many times in the past and will continue to use this in future. The content and product I consider as both good quality and good value for money and can highly recommend this.

Mascara review.Upon opening this had an extremely undesirable scent.Almost completely off putting.The wand was very comfortable on my hand and I felt very confident using this product.The brush is shaped quite thick but didn't overload with product.I applied this with ease and found it went on smoothly and evenly.I didn't have any clumps and each lash separated out nicely but wasn't thickly coated.This felt weightless and looked soft and natural.This wasn't a jet black but a soft black. I will continue to use this as an everyday mascara.

Effective enough as a mascara. No hygiene seal. I think the thing that does the work is the fancy wand. It's tapered and applies the product effectively. Not too sure why it's called – double pump wand. It isn't a good idea to pump the wand up and down in a mascara. It serves no purpose and only introduces air into the cosmetic makes it dry out. Came off easily with proprietary eye make up remover and relatively smudge-proof. Didn't aggravate my eyes. Didn't clump. I can't say noticed any great revelation with regard to lash length.
