Colour under review: Nude IllusionCurrently, the product picture shows a fuchsia lipgloss - the product I reviewed was the Nude Illusion colour, and this is a peachy/beige/pale coral shade. The packaging for this is rather nice - a clear cuboid vial for the gloss itself (which due to the interior shaping makes it look rather like a lipstick, but which I imagine is easier to use up the last of the product) topped with a chunky silver colour lid.The applicator wand is slightly curved and fluffy - unusual, but it does make application a breeze. The product itself is quite thick and gunky, with a good level of pigmentation. I normally prefer a brighter lip (red or plum) so I was uncertain of this at first, but once I'd finished the rest of my makeup (brow definer, brown eyeliner, mascara) it had grown on me - I looked natural, but "finished". This is a great day time or casual lip colour to wear.It terms of durability, it was surprisingly good for such a glossy product - I didn't need to repair it after lunch, but by the time it was my mid afternoon break, it needed touching up.Good product, good price.

First thing to mention is that the current picture on the product page (a kind of deep mauvy pink) is incorrect, this lipgloss is a nude pinky beige colour. Also, for some reason I don't quite understand, they are trying to make you think it is a lipstick, (the coloured part inside the clear plastic case is in the shape of a lipstick). However it is definitely a lipgloss and a rather lovely one at that. One thing you might notice when you unscrew the silver cap and try to get the applicator out, is that it gets stuck and you have to give it a bit of an extra pull. This is because the head of the applicator is angled rather than straight - this is absolutely great for applying the lipgloss toyour lips but a bit of a pain when you're trying to get it out of the bottle. The lipgloss has a lovely smell, is easy to apply and feels lovely on your lips. It is a gloss, so you will need to keep reapplying it. I really like the nude pinky-beige colour, this would be great for daytime wear and would be a gloss I would buy again in the future.

First off, the product picture on this page seems to currently show a deep purple lipgloss, but the colour I received was a pleasant nude. It has a slight sparkle but otherwise looks fairly natural and not too striking - it's a good daytime look. The product comes in a stylish metallic tube that looks good on the dressing table, although is designed to look like a lipstick which is a little confusing! You apply the gloss with a slanted sponge that is attached to the lid on a wand. This isn't the easiest way of applying in my opinion, and it does get a bit gloopy on the sponge. Once it's applied though, it looks good and gives a nice sheen to lips. The staying power is average for a gloss and you will need to reapply several times a day. This is a nice enough gloss if you want subtle colour and a pleasant shine, however I don't think I would buy it again as the staying power is not as impressive as other more expensive lip glosses and I would rather pay more and have to reapply less.

Maybelline New York Color Elixir Lipgloss 5ml Nude Illusion.Comments from the Management:-Having tried various Nude lipsticks in the past and never finding the correct one for me, when this one came up on the Vine Programme, I thought I would give it a try as it was a liquid lipstick rather than a stick. On arrival a few days later, I was under no illusion that this was not a lipstick but a gloss. The bottle is good and the wand to apply it is lip shaped, so helps to get the correct lip shape. At last a lovely nude colour, that I can wear every day, with a lovely shine, but not too blingy. It is moisturising and glides on easy and has a nice consistency for me, although in other reviews I have read, others think it is a little thick. For me less is more and it tend s to stay on longer.A lovely lip gloss and I would give it 5 out of 5 and will look for more from Maybelline in the future

I have lately come to prefer lip balms to lip gloss as so many just feel very gluey on my lips and my hair gets stuck in them - not a great look! But this new lip gloss from Maybelline does seem to avoid the stickiness of most lip glosses very well. This nude colour is, as the name of the shade suggests, pretty subtle in colour, which is what I like for day time wear, or for those evenings when I prefer to highlight my eyes. It feels very creamy on my lips, but you do need to put a few layers on to get the staying power you need. It lasts well for a few hours before you need to reapply. It has an unusual shaped applicator which makes it easy to get into every bit of the lip surface. On the whole it is a good product as a reasonable price, but just not quite moisturising enough to regularly tempt me away from my coloured lip balm.

My wife wishes to share with you: "This looks like a lipstick, but its really a little bottle with a funny little brush/wand. The 'product' is quite wet and is easy to apply relatively accurately. It is very wet and glossy, with a slightly tacky (but stopping short of sticky) feel. The big news is that on my normally dry lips stayed comfortable and moisturised for hours (basically until I ate it off!). Applied after breakfast it stayed good through 2 cups of coffee, and I was only aware of its absence at mid day after an hours swim, when I saw it had gone while lips still felt comfortable. The nude colour is a bit on the yellowy side, but it's so subtle that colour isn't really an issue here."

This is a really simple nude lipgloss, which carries just a hint of colour, which is perfect for daily use and allows you to use it with lots of different outfits, as it just adds a touch of class/elegance without being overpowering. The lipgloss gives a good shine, but isn't overly sparkly, nor is the texture too sticky, which is another bonus.I'm sure that eventually Amazon will change the stock photo to accurately reflect the shade to show the nude version, but until then, be aware that this is not for a fuchsia coloured lip gloss, but a neutral, nude tone! The applicator makes the lipgloss easy to apply and you could also use this as a top coat with another lipstick.

On first looking at this lipgloss container It appears to be a lipstick and the see-through area seems to have the actual lipstick inside it, when in fact by twisting off the lid a wand for the lipgloss is revealed. The lipgloss is a nice shade of pinky brown, which is certainly one of them more modern and nude shades. The wand applicator is fluffy and soft. The lipgloss is very rich in creamy and only slightly tacky. The colours stayed nicely on my lips and they felt very moisturised, even after I'd removed the product my lips still felt soft.A very lovely lipgloss and one I shall certainly carry on using

This gloss really is the business, it has a staying power that is second to none and has no taste as such to linger. It's colouring is very slight and it emphasizes the lips own natural colours somewhat with a nice and pleasant looking sheen, it is not sticky, unlike some and easily applies and, as stated, the effects last a while before fading. The tube, like most others, is easy to conceal and the product is easily removable from the housing container without any effort.A good product all in all.

This is a subtle, neutral colour as the name implies. The wand is a little stiff to remove from the bottle, giving the impression that it will splatter the liquid as it comes out, however it doesn’t. The wand is shaped for easier application and the product is quite thick in texture and appears long lasting. It has a pleasant smell, feels moisturising and looks good on. The bottle, which has a solid click-on top, is a nice handbag size.

Absolutely lovely product. I admit, I had trouble opening it, but that was my own stupidity rather than a design fault! The colour is adorable, the shine perfect, and it stays on really well. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this again.....which I might have to do sooner rather than later, as my daughter seems to have stolen this one from me! I don't usually like lipgloss es as they are sticky, but this one is just lovely.

This is quite nice. As many other reviews have pointed out it isn't purple in colour like the picture. It is "Nude" like the product description. It definitely is lip gloss and not the lipstick that the container might promise. As a product it works well. It basically does what you want it to. The scent is mild and pleasant. It feels okay and last for okay.

10.12.2015

Gorgeous consistency and super-pigmented, this has a lip gloss finish without the stickiness. The packaging of the product looks great - looks very much like a real lipstick, but containing a cushiony soft, flat and wide wand inside that applies product smoothly and evenly. A really great choice of lip wear.

The colour of this is superb, a real true nude. The bottle is weird, it looks like a lipstick and i was a tad confused as you twist the bottom off and a brush comes out.Its a bit sticky but all depends on how much you are used to it.If they did a lipstick in this colour i would buy it straight away.

I have the nude shade and it is as expected, a very slight hint of colour with a glossy shine. The applicator is angled and it was easy to apply. My lips feel and look moisturised. It does though, need re-applying regularly as the gloss comes off quite easily. For the price it's a good buy.
