I don't write many product reviews but this tire has performed so well I just had to say something. I ride almost every day 10-20 miles per day and have been doing so for 25 years. Up until 5 months ago was frustrated by the multiple flats I was running into on another "more famous" brand. So having never heard of this one I took a chance and let me tell you this Maxxis tire has delivered. Not only have I not had any flats with it, but it also showing very little wear after 3 months. Just really impressive. Glad I found this "guy" and enjoying not having my relaxing ride interrupted to stop & perform a repair!5 month update: Tire is now showing considerably wear, which is surprising given how good it looked after the first 3 months. Anyway, seeing this wear I knocked down my star rating from 5 to 4. Even with the wear now showing I still highly recommend this tire because so far I haven't had a flat.6 month update: Decide to replace my back tire because it was showing so much wear at this point. However, I still haven't had a flat. I've ridden every day over these past 6 months, so that's roughly 2500-2700 miles between replacements (back tire).7 month update: Okay, after replacing the rear tire with a new Maxxis Re-Fuse tire I got my first flat on this new set in less than a month. It was a heavy-duty construction staple that made it thru. Okay, this tire is not perfect, but still fairly happy with them. I guess I would give them 3&1/2 stars if I could now having ridden them for several months.

This is a great all-around tire and works really well for city riding. I haven't had a single puncture in the past few years since using these tires and the streets of NYC are full of glass shards, debris and potholes. I recently purchased a new set and the newer version has a redesigned label on the side which looks much cleaner than what is pictured here. The previous version was white/yellow/red and was a bit too much and cheesy. The new graphics are much smaller with less coloring, making it a more discrete and generally a better looking tire. It's NYC, I don't need a tire screaming "I cost 30 bucks, steal me!"PS: The tire initially feels muted and slower until a good 100+ miles on it.The compound has good grip, but wears really slowly.

these are some bomber tires. 30 mile gravel grinder event. 16 mile one way asphalt commute with 5 miles along a railroad track (dirt, gravel, glass). running these tubeless with a very easy setup. did slice a sidewall on a very rocky mountain bike trail and sealant is leaking (weeping?) from slice but air is holding and tire appears structurally sound. if you have a mountain bike and want to cover a lot of ground that is hardpack or gravel or crappy asphalt, these are your tires. 610 grams so not super light but not super heavy either. rolling resistance maybe not quite as good as schwalbe evolution line offerings but these are rounder and with maxxis highest puncture protection offered.

I can vouch for the tubeless ready aspect. Fit perfectly on my botranger 2.3" rims, sealed with a hand pump, and no sealant added! Hasn't leaked over several days so I don't see why I'd deflate them now to add sealant. I installed on both front and back same experience for both, but I did have trouble with one because I didn't properly clean the rim so the tire wouldn't snap into place. No problem, just cleaning everything and putting a little soapy water fixed it on the second try. I can't give a long term review yet, but can say that they're perfect to convert my trail bike for street riding so I don't wear down my precious Ardent treads, plus a lot less rolling resistance.

I chose these tires on 25 for better ride quality, but if you are a clydesdale then they are for you.A little on the heavy side so it takes a little picking up speed, but once on top gear they fly. Withstand very well the elements and very resistant to punctures. I still have one with small chunks of rubber missing, and still they hold in one piece. No need to pay extra, Maxxis Re-Fuse are well under-rated tires that deliver for the right price.Highly recommendedPros:Solid all arounderFor heavy people and for that plush rideTires easy to changeCons:A little on the heavy sideNot a flashy brand, nothing to brag about

The Kevlar keeps these tires going I've been biking for a month and a half with these and they are awesome I've never been stranded with a flat yet and I don't always ride on pavement to work some of the bike trail is dirt from construction.Remember if you want an absolute bulletproof dependable tire you need your inner tubes to be a 700c x 23.This keeps the inner tube from falling apart under the friction of the tire also properly installed high quality rim tape.I run with the 3 buck inner tube from Bell I got them at Walmart.Inner tubes don't need to cost alot of money when you got this setup.

I got tired of changing out my wife's tires every week. We live in a place where the local trailer trash like to whip bottles out of their trucks onto the bike paths and road shoulders. Sometimes there's no safe route. I've always been impressed with Maxxis tires on my mtn bikes, so I tried these. So far they've held up against all but one larger chunk of glass that ruined a tire. They have pretty low rolling resistance and outstanding grip in wet and even light snow. She's put over 500 miles on rough roads and they're holding up great!

These are definitely pretty good. I use them for long distance bike trips. Result: two flats over 3,000 miles of riding even though the road crap was significant at times. I think that's pretty good and these have lived up to their reputation. In fact I just bought them again. For that price they're hard to beat for long distance bike trips. (Even though obviously not as fast and supple as, say a GP4000 which I ride when not going on bike travel adventures where reliability is more important than speed and smoothness.)

I ride in an area that has a lot of little thorns, I was flatting nearly every ride on my normal touring tires.I switched to these tires and haven't had a flat in months. The increase in rolling resistance is negligible, as is the weight difference. These tires are also made from a reasonably soft compound that imbues them with better than average cornering grip.Highly recommended, will purchase again when my current tires wear out.

I've spent about 50 miles on these tires which replaced the OEM rubber that came with my Trek Emonda. Going from 23s to 25s made a noticeable difference in comfort. Running at 10psi less than the 23s they better absorb bumps and make my rides more enjoyable. They're grippier too and give me more confidence around corners. I'm really happy with these tires so far and wish I would have discovered them earlier!

In all honesty this is not the first set of Maxxis tires that I have purchased . I have been using the Maxxis Brand for years . Maxxis tires have always been far better than tires I have used in the past . But what is new is the fact that I bought them through Amazon . Im hooked for life now ... It was a great shopping experience and look forward to many more orders though Amazon

Robust tire, fitted with a tube. For me, always with enough talc between the tire and the hose. Can be raised well. Initially only pumped at approx. 3 bar and set into the rim by knocking on the tire. Bead moves into the rim well or rim flange with an audible click. Pumped to a final pressure of 5.5 bar. Retracted tires, run wonderfully smoothly! No long-term experience yet.

Generally I've preferred other tire brands as my first pair of Maxxis tires had the tread come loose from the casing when they were six months old, a very uncomfortable experience. My experience with the 28 mm tires has been much better. I wanted a durable training tire so weight was not a consideration. After a year I'm still happily putting miles on these tires.

19.2.2016

Decent price for a really good tire for day-to-day riding. Those kevlar belts *can* be penetrated by something large enough and sharp enough (think "roofing nails" or "big shards of busted beer bottles") but most of the flats I used to suffer I no longer suffer. I've ridden on these for several years, and both my kids ride on 'em, and we all like 'em.

4.5.2014

I'm mostly pleased with these tyres, they are durable and were easy to fit to the rims. My one complaint is that they aren't as wide as stated. They are supposed to be 25mm but measure out at 22mm when inflated to 90psi.Otherwise they're great and though a little harsher-riding than some, they wil be strong and hopefully last a long time.
