The Max Factor Masterpiece High Precision Liquid Eyeliner is meant to have the intensity of a liquid eyeliner with the precision of a pencil. It’s unique applicator looks paddle shaped and the tip is quite rounded and not pointy like other liners on the market. The flat, thick paddle like side allows for a thicker, darker and more dramatic line and the actual tip/edge creates a softer line very close to the lash line. I use the tip for a guideline and the flat paddle to create and fill in my flick on the outer lash line. I found the tip works best to line my inner and middle lash line and it also helps to create a guideline on the outer edge before I use the paddle to gradually build the line from thin to thicker on the outer edge, creating a super dramatic look. I also love using the paddle bit to create a thicker line and flick all over for a more dramatic and striking look.Is it super black? Yes and no! You would think this eyeliner was a felt tip pen and I’ve found it does dry out pretty fast just like a felt tip would. The flatter, paddle side definitely creates a very black look but it starts out very black and gradually fades. Which is a shame. Somehow when using the thinner tip, the liquid liner appears off-black like a felt tip pen would when it is running out of ink. I have noticed that this liquid liner fades from one end to the other which results in more than one application. One good thing about the liquid liner is when I have my desired look I have found it to be long-lasting and it does stay put without the need for re-application.After applying two or three applications I must say I do like the finished look. I have other liquid eyeliner that are more intense, more precise and a deeper shade of black but I ‘m loving the velvety, smoky look I’ve achieved with this. I especially love how it’s long lasting but I’d love the eyeliner much more if it was as precise as Maxfactor make out. Although it’s not my number one liquid eyeliner – I will definitely use it again, as I love how pretty my eyes look with it on. Here’s a pic of the finished look.

This is ‘Charcoal’, which is a soft dark grey, and more flattering to a paler complexion than black. It’s a ‘liquid’ liner, not that dissimilar to a felt pen. You need a steady hand for a liquid liner buy this goes on very smoothly. You don’t have to drag the delicate skin of the eye area, which is a big plus for not encouraging wrinkles. The end isn't a traditional point but rounded and flattened on one side, which means you can use it to draw a thick line or you can use it turned on its edge to draw a very thin line. You can also smudge it before it dries, if you don’t like a hard line. It's relatively smudge-proof, but it removes easily with make up remover. It comes hygiene sealed. The colour lasts well and doesn’t irritate my eyes which are sensitive.I’ve tried quite a few eyeliners and this is one of my favourites thanks to the colour, the design of the point and the staying power. My wife has tried out several eyeliners recently, and has had mixed experiences. However, she really liked this one.“This eyeliner is excellent. It produces both thick and thin lines and it stays in place. The tip is shaped like a rectangle, so you have a thin side as well as a thick one, which is really useful. All you need to do to change from one to the other is adjust it in your hand. It goes on smoothly with no breaks in the liner. I like the length of the tip, which lets you get behind your lashes more easily, depending on the order you apply your eye make-up.The pencil itself is a good length, but the cap tends to slide off easily as there is no "snap" to it.The eyeliner is easy to remove, but it is also easy to apply, and you get amazing results. A brilliant product.”

I always wear wings when I do my make-up so I'm always on the look-out for a decent eyeliner and I really loved this product. I think calling it a liquid liner is a bit odd as it's a felt-tip version which isn't quite as free-flowing as your usual liquid liner but I found it easy to use and super easy to get a really precise line. It comes out black and intense with one pass and the tip goes to such a tiny point, it's really easy to get it right into the lash line and fill in any bits that were missed. What really impressed me was it's staying power - it lasts all day and also doesn't transfer or smudge over the rest of my eyelid. I even wore it out in the pouring rain and it was still pristine at the end of the day.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I never have much luck with eyeliner pens inspite of wearing gallons of black eyeliner over the years, i can use a brush and a pencil but the whole marker pen thing? Make me look like a two year old drew my face!. This is a marker pen eyeliner. It can be use for thick lines one way and thin the other. It feels a bit wierd on, i can actually feel it pulling. This is the eaisiest pen eyeliner i have used. I managed to get a decent flick using it. The lid doesnt attach to the wrong end of the pen in use so i keep losing it. Doesnt run or smudge after its dry. good for sharp linesProbably the eaisest marker pen eyeliner ive tried, lasts well as well.

Before you write this product off you need to practice a bit with it first to get used to it. It has a flat/chisel shaped applicator tip so can be used to make thin and thick lines depending on whether you use the tip or its side. It is serious stuff and took a lot of eye make up remover to shift - so great for wearing in a sweaty club (but maybe not so for everyday use). My first few attempts at using it were bad, especially using the thick side - reminded me of a toddler with a chubby crayon. I think for delicate/naturalistic work i will stick to a very fine brush applicator eyeliner I have but for more dramatic evening looks this is a go to item.

I love to wear liquid eyeliner on a regular basis. The liner is in a pen style case, small and can take everywhere if needed. Theres no dipping into ink and is ready to use. Its a felt tip style nib and a thin end so able to make liner as thick or thin as you wish. The liner glided on well, I only needed to use it once, didnt need to go over it and it didnt crease/smudge. It dried straight away and didnt smell. I had no reactions on my eyes. The liner lasted all day and to put it to the test I even slept in it. It didnt budge! Would recommend this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This eyeliner is the best I've used so far and ive used alot of different eyeliner. This one has a very long tip so it easy to get that sharp wing and it doesnt leave any eyeliner on your eye lids so it drys very fast . It doesn't crack or smudge and it doesnt dry out fast like some I've used before I would highly recommend this eyeliner because it's just amazing and really does work plus the colour is just great it so black and helps bring out the eye colour . It just glides on the lid and its not messy at all so I will be buying this again [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I'll admit to being rather hamfisted when applying this product, but the chisel shaped twist up applicator was great for precision work, especially as, whilst using a felt tip eyeliner, I've completely mucked it up and had to wipe it all off and start again. It wasn't great for the bottom lashes though as the colour tended to transfer, but would be ideal if you were trying to achieve the cat's eye sweep on the top lashes. The charcoal colour was a very flattering alternative to black on my blue eyed/blonde complexion. Removal via my normal eye make-up removing cleanser, namely:

This is a felt-tip pen style of eyeliner which I’m normally wary of compared to the pencils because I find with my amateur application technique, it can often go drastically wrong, I don’t always have a steady enough hand, but the big draw with this particular pen is the chiselled paddle tip which allows you to switch between a narrow line and a much thicker line, perfect for flicks. You still need a steady hand but I do find my flicks easier with this tip shape, and the colour is good and strong.Lasts all day but comes off easily with makeup remover.A good decent eyeliner!

A really nice thin liner, takes a while to get used to it being a liquid but with practice you can get a nice line, All the pencils normally give me to thick a line, but this one was great just a nice thin one just what I wanted. Took me a few goes to master it but once you get the hang of it it's brilliant, stays in place too. Really like it, normally use top end pencil but getting too thick. Didn't think I'd like a liquid line not used one in years but really like this one, it's neat and fits in you bag if you needed to touch up I doubt you would good staying power.

Initially I wasn't sure about the shape of the tip of this eyeliner as it wasn't like any eyeliner i have used before. However after giving it a try i found the shape was actually quite helpful to ensuring an easy application of the eyeliner and I can see the benefit of it. You can use the tip to create either quite a thin line or twist a bit to create a thicker line.Glides on easily and holds well. No smudging or wearing off that I find with others eyeliners and my eyes looked good all evening. I'll definitely use this eyeliner again!

This Max Factor eyeliner in Charcoal colour is a nice alternative to black. Though nearer to black than grey it's subtly different enough. The flatter tip on this pencil like applicator is a little odd at first, my wife took a little while to get it right on first application but then found it was more versatile the more she got used to it, allowing for both thicker and thinner strokes at different angles. It looked really good after a little effort, you just need to remember it's a liquid even though it still goes on as a pencil.

This doesn't give quite such a stark, bold line as most liquid eyeliners seem to, which in this case is a good thing, and makes the end result more versatile than you might expect. I'm not normally a fan of liquid eyeliner, but this one is something I could use regularly. The tip is the big selling point, allowing a very fine or a fatter line, which gives range and scope to the end finish. It lasts well, as you'd expect, and is easy to apply with practice. Overall, this is excellent and I'd definitely recommend.

Max Factor Masterpiece High Precision Liquid eyeliner is one of the best eyeliners I have had the pleasure of using. The nib makes the eye line to go on smoothly without any hesitation. I love how the nib has a broad and narrow line which makes it the perfect liner for the very much coveted "flick" at the outside of the main eye area. This really is an excellent eyeliner and one which I would be happy purchasing again in different colours etc.A real joy to use and one I am happy to recommend.
