My friend's 7yo has been the tester for this. Her eyes lit up when she saw another Barbie offering so close on the back of the kitchen set, but I think that the latter has made her rate this one a little less because the kitchen set offers her so many more options. With the kitchen set, Barbie actually got discarded, and eventually there were 4 kids playing together at one time, 3 girls and a boy - there's just so much to do with it. With this, it's more for one child to be using it, as there's only one doll, 3 skirts and it is quite a small set, and somehow, I don't think many boys would really want to play with this.I had some trepidation about a mess with this, but everything is pretty much contained and can be reused. You could also buy more paper and use different little odds and ends to pop inside the skirts. What's great is that you can empty the skirts out, wipe them clean, reuse the stickers, so there's potential for continued use. But, I don't think it taxed my tester quite enough. With the kitchen she's making different foods and experimenting with different appliances, and we've been able to encourage her to try new foods. With this, she's doing some arts and crafts and testing her motor skills, but it's not really teaching her anything. Once all the skirts were fashioned, she lost interest a bit and left me to clean up.I think that in isolation, for the price and given that you can use and reuse this set, it's about worth the twenty five quid mark. However, with the kitchen costing the same, but offering so much more value, this isn't quite on a par. Still, it's nice to have, especially at Xmas. One thing to note is that the bulk of this toy consists of what is effectively a lot of plastic disguising a hole puncher. The set could've been easily designed to offer a kid-friendly puncher, using a lot less plastic, and a funnel of sorts, and the set would've worked just as well. Something for the manufacturer to consider, maybe, with plastic being the big baddie that it is currently deemed to be?

My daughter is Barbie mad and her eyes lit up when she saw this. This Barbie combines her love her art and her love of dolls and this is probably one of her favourite dolls. She loves to try out different styles and different ways of using the confetti maker. She needed a little help the first time but once she knew what she was doing she was off!It has been a couple of months and every weekend she is hard at work making new designs. The Barbie clothes are easy enough to wipe clean with the cloth provided in the set.The set also includes pens and tape to help with making new designs etc. This set is perfect for children who love crafting and designing new things.I think as a child I would have hated this doll because I am not particularly artistic in any way, however my daughter loves all things crafts and this doll appeals to that side of her. It is amazing to watch her brain work on creating designs etc.One of the excellent things about Barbie’s is that they are all the same size so when you have more than one in your collection, you can mix and match their clothes. This one is a little bit more expensive than others and I probably would not have paid the price tag of £24.89 myself but upon reflection this doll is worth every penny. My daughter plays with this all of the time and that alone makes it worth every penny.

My daughter is a massive Barbie fan and loves to collect them, she also loves drawing fashion ideas and dressing up her dolls so she is the perfect candidate for this set! She owns one of the other Barbie Fashionista sets and it loving adding more to it with this one.The set includes a pretty doll and a confetti making station which is designed to be added to the skirt via a little side slit to which you attach it to the designated funnel pouring station and fill fairly easily. My daughter needed me to show her the first time what to do but now she's loving adding confetti and pom poms and is also using her own glitter and sequins now too, there's endless creations you can make. The set comes with pens, tape and more to create amazing designs which are then wipeable and washable and you can use again and again. The station itself needs some adult assembly but is fairly simple and has places to hang the clothes etc. It goes well with other fashionista sets and you can help to create your own Barbie fashion studio!Great fun, very much loved by my daughter. It says from age 5 but my 5 year old really struggled with the confetti making and getting it in the skirt - I'd say more for 7 plus.Highly recommended and a really original and fun set.

To design a skirt you feed the coloured card into the top and punch out shapes adding more card colours as you see fit. A skirt gets attached to a funnel and the bits of paper are fed into the skirt which is like a clear plastic sleeve around a skirt. You can feed in some of the coloured balls to add some extra style. Seal it up and shake it about a bit to spread the pieces out. Then you can add stickers, tape to colour in and draw on some additional colours with the markers. Then attach to Barbie. There are 2 other skirts to decorate and you can clean them up and re-design them.Kept out little girl and her friend occupied for an afternoon when they first had it and they have played with it a few times since. The novelty will wear off, but at the moment it helps with their creativity. My only minor criticism is that there is a big plastic housing for what is essentially a hole punch. All so the paper can fall through the windowed area into the detachable tray which is used to fill the skirt. I think they could have come up with something that used less plastic. Other than that it is a fun toy that has a lot of playability

A great ideas for art and crafty girls and Barbie fans alike. Even better should they be both!Setting up the punching device should be fairly simple, although some adult supervision will be probably be required, if you are like us, who couldn't fathom out how to attach the skirts. It turned out they have to be opened up via a seal we had missed. And in fact, the punching device could actually just be a hole punch. Yet, this glams it up, and makes it feel more like a piece of special crafting equipment.Essentially you are making confetti, to pour in to a skirt, which has a special sealable lining. Plus there are other ways to personalise the clothing too, e.g. washable pens and stickers. It's a nice touch to be able to personlise Barbie - who is included in the set. Despite a little complexity, this is aimed at girls about six years old to get the most out of it. Stock up on coloured paper though, since children will whizz through certain colours provided (pink!). Older Barbie fans are likely to tire quickly.A good idea, fairly well executed.

This is really like a 2-in-1 playset that encourages creativity, but it also works as a nice add-on for a Barbie fan. I don't think it's suitable for a younger child. It's recommended for age five and up, and the older child will get more out of it, but with a little help a child between 5 and 6 can also get great fun out of this if someone older is playing along with her, working together. Some of the features are a little complicated, or rather it's more a case that there are a lot of steps to go through and pieces to add in a certain order to create a colourful Barbie skirt - but as long as it doesn't turn out to be frustrating that's a good thing. My niece and I had a lot of fun being creative and colouring but I was left in no uncertain terms who was the real boss here calling out the creative decisions. The set is a little expensive but it's Barbie, and it's well-made. Everything is reusable and flexible for your girl to add her your own creative touches, so there should be no limits to creativity here.

This is a fun set, which combines Barbie with arts and crafts. You get a Barbie doll, the Confetti Skirt Studio, three skirts to decorate, a tank top (which can also be coloured in), two sheets of stickers, a bag of pom poms, ten sheets of colourful paper, a roll of patterned tape, a wipe, and three markers.Choose a skirt to decorate and then attach that to the playset. You can then put the paper in the top and punch confetti. This is then tipped into the skirt, which is like a plastic pocket. You can also add pom poms, stick on tape, or stickers, or draw on it. The only part of this which doesn’t work well are the markers – the skirts are plastic and the ink blurs if touched.Although this does have a few issues,it is fun to decorate Barbie’s outfits. You can empty out the skirt, wipe it clean, and decorate it again – and you can always get more coloured paper to make confetti; although this can also be re-used. A bit of a novelty, but fun to do and there is little mess.

Since receiving this over Christmas, my girls have been getting stuck in and designing their own outfits for Barbie. I can't say any of their creations are catwalk worthy, but then I have no eye for fashion. This set comes with a Barbie and a number of detachment, reusable skirts. Aside from the pens to draw on the skirts with, it also comes with confetti, pom-poms, clothes hangers, stickers, and cloth material of different colours so there is plenty of opportunity for invention and creativity. Thankfully, using and reusing this is simple enough, and after a couple of minutes of tinkering to figure things out, the girls knew what they were doing. There isn't much mess, which is always my main concern with any craft type set, and beyond the confetti floating all over the room you shouldn't have trouble cleaning up.

Barbie meets craft studio. This is a lovely set for Barbie fans who like to do a little more than just dress and style her. The idea of the set is to design and create an outfit for Barbie using the special craft machine and materials in the set.The special skirts can be filled with the paper cut outs, additional glitter and pom poms etc to give Barbie quite the outfit! Her top can also be enhanced with the colouring pens to give her a colourful and funky top.Little ones may need some help with attatching the skirts to the machine but it is pretty straightforward on the whole.Barbie and her clothes are interchangeable with any others you may already have in your collection and the glitter andcut outs can also be used in other craft projects.

From the ever-popular Barbie range, this is a fun set enabling budding young fashion designers to design their own skirts (I don't think that it's going to trouble New York Fashion Week anytime soon, but it made our little friend happy!). The kit comes with a doll, plus a plain white top and three skirts - one of which you can fill with 'confetti' and pompoms, two of which you can draw on with the included washable pens. There is also a 'confetti maker' machine - basically a fancy hole punch which can funnel the shapes you cut into the skirt. It's nice to see a doll set which can incorporate some arts and crafts skills, and this is well-thought out. Good set.

When you buy most Barbies, there's a very limited amount of variety in the looks you can give her. This Crayola Confetti kit significantly expands your child's creative possibilities. This kit is very unique and we hadn't seen anything like it before. The kit allows you to create multi-coloured confetti and use it to fill Barbie's skirt. You also get some stickers and some washable pens to further add to your design. Our 7 year old niece loved this kit. After we showed her how to use it, she found it easy... if a little messy at times! At the current price of £24.89, we felt this play set offers great value for money.

One of the better Barbie Playsets in my view. It encourages creative thinking and design. There is a little simple initial construction of the confetti maker required, which is probably best undertaken by an adult, but only requires a screwdriver. Once down everything else is straight forward and easy to use. There's felt tip crayons. beads, stick on graphics, coloured paper, a skirt and even coat hangers and a tape measure. All can be combined as desired to create clothing designs for the included Barbie doll herself. Its all made with the usual Barbie attention to quality. Our 6 year old grand daughter loves it.

all i will say is i wish i was a kid again as i nearly swipped this from my daugher when she took it all out and i realised how much fun i could have, i showed her how to set up and use it and didnt want to hand it back lol. its well made and easy to set up and comes with everything you need to personalise one of the included skirts. it will need a little adult help for younger kids but my daughter was able to work this alone which meant no more play for mummy. It prduced some great results and its really nice for the child to feel in charge of their own designs.

This is a novel twist on the Barbie theme. It feels a little contrived to me, but has proven very popular. The paper cutting unit itself it quite large and requires adult assembly. The idea is to cut paper sheets into shapes and then use these to decorate the doll's skirts. There is a nice, creative side to the toy, so it does have value other than basic play. I'm not sure quite how long it will last until the novelty wears off, but in the meantime it is proving to be an entertaining and absorbing concept that is providing a great deal of enjoyment.
