There are TWO offerings available: one contains the gaffed cards ONLY – together with the secret instructions to perform ‘single-time’ tricks – the other – presented in a ‘presentation tin; – contains the special cards AND five fabulous ‘packet tricks’ that can be surreptitiously inserted into the pack to present some wonderful truly baffling effects. The ‘presentation tin’ version is the one to go for.About the deck. Most gaffed decks such as the ‘Svengali’ deck are predominantly ‘one trick pony’ decks that offer very little scope for variety or real-time ‘follow-through’. The principle used in this deck facilitates the presentation of many classic effects without acquiring any contouring skillwhatsoever! There is a downside however: unlike ‘card conjurors’ who perform intimate baffling ‘close-up’ ‘sets’ on a small table, most unskilled ‘street magicians’ tend to perform slick ‘in the hand’ ‘tricks’ without any ‘follow-through’ other than variations on the same ‘is that your card’ theme – which is both pointless, ‘cheesy’, and boring. The whole ‘drive’ behind any form of ‘magic’ is to entertain and baffle. With a little judicious thought, and application of the fabulous ‘packet tricks’, the performer can ‘structure’ a sequence of presentations that present variety; entertainment; wonderment; mystery; and intrigue in equal measure from the many effects described in the kit.To give a flavour, one might begin by shuffling and cutting the cards and then naming a card at a number specified by the participant followed by mixing ‘packets’ of face-up and face-down cards into each other then spreading them out to show that despite all of the mixing, all cards are face down – except for a suit selected by the participant – which is face-up and in sequence order. This might be followed by a ‘four of a kind’ reveal and then a ‘packet trick’ with a ‘kicker’ ending to close – with another ‘packet trick’ on ‘standby’ as an encore. The possibilities are down to being imaginative in ones approach to card magic. And if this fabulous kit inspires you to properly get to grips with card magic and acquire ‘life skills’ then search Amazon for ‘The royal road to card magic’ DVDs (not the book) supplemented with the cards and ‘packet tricks’ in this kit – and get SERIOUS!Now go on YouTube and watch Rene Levant perform ‘It can’t be done slower’.Happy entertaining.

The product title says 50 Magic tricks but it's not really true. Basically the objects in the box are few and most of the tricks are alternative versions of the same games with just little differences. Some games are really nice and I could see the stunning faces of adults and children around me when I did a little magic show for them. That was really funny experience. Specially the game with traditional bundle of cards and the cards with only numbers, very impressive!!You need a bit of training by yourself to get confidence with this tricks but later on you get satisfaction to impress your friends. Some other games in the box are a bit silly in my opinion and not really interesting. However, the product is very cheap and considering the positive effects on my friends around I can say it was a good purchasing!!

Santa brought me this as a stocking filler and I have had hours of fun learning these tricks with my 8 yr old son and then showing them off to friends and family during the xmas break. Not your usual collection of ropey plastic tat that generally make up kids magic sets. These are genuine card tricks that are genuinely impressive and are easy to perform once you've mastered the basic techniques. That said, the separately enclosed tricks require a lot more practice and my son (and I to be truthful!) have not as yet managed to pull them off convincingly. Excellent value for money.

My daughter dips in and out of magic, having had a couple of magic sets over the years. She started watching a few magic shows, particularly Penn & Teller, and fancied having a go at cards tricks, hence this purchase. Good value for money and cards kept in a relatively small tin which means they no longer end up getting lost / mixed up etc. and are looked after better. Can also store them in an easily accessible place without taking up much room unlike her other magic kits, and she uses them fairly regularly.

i am a have been practicing magic for 2 years this has to be one of the best sets i have brought in a long time the book is easy to read this is a perfect item for someone who is just starting off in magic or wants to have something that you can have in your pocket for when ever . the only bad point i give this protect is the card use . its not a locally familiar backing to the card witch means if you brake the cards then your sewed but apart form that its brilliant i highly recommend this item.

cheap plastic components but Good cards and tricks; well presented.some of the Plastic pieces like the dice, shakers etc are a bit cheap (shame) but:However, the tricks are good fun, and some relatively easily to learn- they would certainly 'entertain' children for a good period of time.Compared to rubbish like Stephen Mulhern's 'magic kits' this (marvins magic) is infinitely better quality.WOULD RECOMMEND for younger people to 'learn' or to entertain.Good.

My daughter who is eight loved this. She has had it for a year and it still comes out frequently. It is a set of props with a book that details how to carry out several pranks with each of them. The real value is in the book, so to fully appreciate this a child would need to read reasonably well, although it can be used without. It comes in a tin which is easy to store, carry and get out, making it much easier to use than other toys of this type.

i have got all the marvins magic sets and this is just brilliant! what more do you need than a cracked screen to send your mother into a fit? or watch as someone tries to mop up a fake coffee spill? this is genius and i recommend it for any youngster...or even oldie! im a 13 year old girl- notoriously a hard categorie to buy for...this is just excellent though! i recommend it definitely to anyone...young old...male or female its a masterpiece!

I bought this for my eleven-year old and he is very impressed! He didn't want one of these children's collections of cheesy magic tricks and this is definitely for adults. The magic tricks are so good that even my husband was impressed. Some of them are quite difficult so they will require lots of practice. This should keep him entertained for a long time! I would definitely recommend this.

Great little magic kit. Got it as a bit of a joke for my husbands birthday but the tricks are actually really good. I find it helpful to read the instructions and then watch it done online to properly understand how to do each trick. The whole family have enjoyed these tricks, even my 11 year old has mastered a few of them. Would definitely recommend.

I recommend this set because it helps reading and mind and speech games for youngsters who have to think for themselves before using and entertaining us with their tricks and magic. better than a computer game where you dont need to think its all done at the press of a button.Good entertainment value. like the good old days.

Great lift gift. The 9 year old loved it and all the different little packs to go with it. Only issue was the instructions were a little difficult to understand. Tried the website they give which is a great idea to watch videos but couldnt get anything but the instructions up.Found some videos on you tube thou

I bought this for my husband as a bit of fun at Xmas. Some of the tricks are easy and you can see straight away, but there are a couple, that I have to say, had me and our friends bewildered and had to be told how he did them.Great for kids, but also great down the pub to amaze and baffle adults!!!

I bought this as a birthday present for my nearly 60 year old father who is VERY MUCH into card tricks and magic. When he opened this on his birthday, his face LIT UP! So this is a great gift for anyone who is into magic and/or card tricks - so thank you for making my Dad's birthday perfect!
