I've used Marumi for filters for a good few years now (though I try other makers too)The DHG (digital high grade) series is multicoated and available in lens protect, UV and CPL as well as others. I picked one of these up for the Fuji X10 which this fits perfectly (not easy to find filters for this camera) it also fits the X20/X30 models. All feature a low profile size, lots of coatings to help reduce ghosting and internal reflections, a satin painted filter ring again helps reduce reflections, plus black ink on the outer edge of the glass filter. The "super" v the normal DHG is an additional coat added to the filter surface which helps repel grease, dirt and water/oil and it does seem to help here.I've used both the normal DHG and Super. If you're outdoors a lot and can get the front element dirty at times the "super" is worth looking at, for most normal uses then the standard DHG is the one to go for. I've used these filters even on older film lenses (note they're just fine on film cameras too) and they do help tame reflections and flare, and in some cases can improve older lenses when used on digital bodies.Marumi hit the spot for me as they make "good quality" filters, and the prices are not unreasonable either. A few brands out there are a bit OTT price wise, on the other hand you don't really want to use the ultra cheap makers either as they can cause issues with flare and hurt image quality. Recommended from me after years of use I've been very pleased with the quality of these filters.

I typically buy multi-coated UV filters for my lenses as protectors. I do not need the UV blocking properties for my digital cameras, but this seemed to be the best choice for a fully transparent filter/protector. I had tried other "protector filters" before, but they generally are just plain glass and poor quality overall. I had purchased some Marumi UV filters before and they were of excellent quality, so I was excited to see this Marumi protector filter. They are multi-coated to reduce flare and ghosting, and also of excellent quality - good threads front and back and both a knurled top surface AND sides. It is matte black rather than glossy.I have the "super" version of this filter on both of my expensive Panasonic GX zoom lenses and I made this purchase for my Panny 14-140mm and 100-300mm zooms. Any quality lenses I add to my collection will get one of these.

I had never tried Marumi before but will definitely buy other filters from them. This was exactly what I wanted--a clear filter (digital cameras don't need UV filters and they can distort pictures, but I still wanted to protect the lens). It also is "slim" which, at 62mm, was perfect--absolutely no vignetting. Perfect fit and perfectly clear. The only other thing I wanted to share was that the filter does not come packaged the same was as Hoya, etc. do. It is in a nice clear plastic case, but when you open it, the filter is just rattling around inside, apparently because Marumi puts different sized filters into the same one-size-fits-all box. But at first I was worried that it was an aftermarket sale,or a mislabeling. No, it's just the way they do it and doesn't hurt the lens which, as I say, I was completely satisfied with.

Quality built and nicely packaged in a protective case I bought this for my Canon 24-105 f4L lens. It is not a haze or skylight filter but a multi-coated (to reduce flare/reflections) clear piece of glass to protect your lens elements. It is thin rimmed so vignetting is not a problem and the lens cap still fits snugly on the front of it. Since it is clear and threaded you can stack another filter on top.I own 5 Marumi filters now and am impressed with their quality. Marumi is now my goto filter company (used to be Hoya) because of the price/performance. When compared (by various testing sights) Marumi is always right up top with Hoya, BG, and the other top manufactures and while not cheap they are usually slightly less than the others as well.A great combination.

This filter precisely fits the lens threads on my Fujifilm X10--exactly what's needed to protect the lens from dust and scratches...and it does a better job than trying to fit a 52 mm filter onto the optional lens adapter (holes around its base). But wait, there's more! I'm not sure why more reviewers haven't mentioned this but, the Marumi filter has interior threads at the front that precisely fit the threads of the adapter. Yes, you can screw the adapter onto the Marumi filter thus allowing you to use the optional hood or even add a 52 mm filter of your choice.

Just bought a new Canon 17-55 mm lens and they're prone to dust...wanted to protect the glass. Some pro photogs don't like these filters because they are a lesser quality glass from the actual Canon glass used in the lens. Why would you put a $30 glass on a $1,000+ lens is the question I'm often asked. To each his own. I prefer peace of mind to the possible damage, dust, etc. I don't notice a difference since I'm not shooting The Hope Diamond...and if I am, the filter could be removed. But for shooting the kids and products, this works! Thanks ...

The Marumi 40mm DHG Multi-coated filter is so clear, one has to look hard to see the glass inside the black ring. I am glad I purchased it for my Fuji x20. It fits perfectly on the threaded lens; and looks nice to boot. Additionally, the filter itself is threaded so that one can put a lens hood on top of the filter. So far, I have not noticed any vignetting, distortion or ghost images on the photos taken with the filter on. I can't say the same thing for the Fujiyama filter I got with the LH-x10 hood I purchased a while back.

I LOVE Mariumi lens protectors. Even if you take great care of your camera and never put it through too much wear and tear you need to protect one of the most important parts the lens. Every lens I own has a Marumi lens protector and I find them much easier to clean off than the lens glass, and I never have to worry about accidentally bumping my lens while on an outing. It's much easier to replace a Marumi lens protector after some wear and tear than a lens, and much cheaper! :-)

This Marumi filter has worked very well with much less ghosting and flare than I had with a Tiffen filter previously. It also saved the front of one of my lenses taking a 4 ft. impact onto a floor . The edge of the filter's frame took the direct impact and wasn't even dented though a piece of the glass chipped off at the inside edge. It continues to work without affecting the image otherwise. I have bought other sizes since and recommend them to my friends and colleagues.

Just what I wanted for the Fuji X10 camera. This is a plain, anti-reflectance coated, glass filter (not UV or anything else) to protect the lens which is fairly exposed on the X10. I use a camera case normally and do not use an additional lens cap. This 'lens protect filter' screws onto the Fuji X10 perfectly. Results to date seem fine, I haven't noticed any spurious reflections with my photos. Also, additional lens hood screws securely to filter when wanted.

I have been using Marumi Filters on my lenses for some time now. They are opticallyvery well constructed (first priority), thin enough to prevent vignetting, and coatedto resist moisture. I have tested the filters against B&W and Nikon and see very little,if any, difference. I use filters primarily for protection of the lens, but ocasionallyleave the filter on for a shot. I see very little change in the resolution or color shift.

Not much to say except that it does its job very well and gives the added and valuable security of knowing the main camera lens is protected against rain and dust - and - of course, you can wipe it without risk of damaging the lens itself. I prefer these to the usual UV filters as they have no impact upon the image being taken. I now use clear filters like this on all my cameras.

I have purchased several different Marumi filters over the past several years and have always been happy with them. They are a well respected brand in Japan where they are manufactured. For some reason the are not sold in many stores in the US and they don't seem to have an aggressive US marketing plan but they are as good as any filter made and prices are very competitive.
