The Stanmore II is not my first Marshall product. I already own the first generation of Stanmore and Woburn and the portable Stockwell. I can therefore say that I know quite well the Marshall lineup.Stanmore II is the sweet spot within the product range as it is compact but capable of high performance. The Acton is too tiny and cannot play at a similar volume or ensure the same bass response. On the other hand, the Woburn can be even louder and richer in bass range thanks to its two woofers. If space is not an issue Woburn can deliver the best performance but your neighbors may not appreciate it as much you do.All in all the Stanmore II is a very good product that will please any user, even the most demanding:• Built quality: As any Marshall products, it is built paying attention to details. It is entirely covered with high quality black vinyl, details are made of real brass and knobs are rubberized for easier grip.• Features: Stanmore II offers very good connectivity thanks to RCA, 3.5mm Jack and Bluetooth 5.0. The wireless connection allows to keep two devices connected at a time and, by playing a song on one of them, the other one will be automatically paused if already playing. In addition to this the App allows to pair multiple Marshall products together and fine tune the sound with 5 bands EQ. Bluetooth connection is low latency and ensures no lag between video and audio while watching a movie. All the knobs of Stanmore II are digital and show the level with nice red leds whose intensity can be dimmed.• Sound quality: if compared to the previous generation there is a difference in timbre of sound. Stanmore I was smoother with less extension to the high end. Probably with Stanmore II new tweeters have been used to increase efficiency and this led to a well detailed sound which is sharper than before. Overall sound quality is very good and the DSP makes sure that the sound is always balanced and undistorted.• Optical audio: the Stanmore II lost the optical connection that was available in the first generation. Beware of this in case you want to use it also as a soundbar for your TV and that with a few £ an external converter can be added and connected to RCA input.• Volume management: this is definitely a step forward on the previous generation. Stanmore I and the connected Bluetooth device had two different volumes that had to be adjusted individually. With Stanmore II the master volume is unique and can be set either from the speaker or from a phone. By spinning the knob on the speaker, you will see the volume on your phone increase or decrease accordingly.• Play/Pause/Skip button: a multifunctional button, missing in Stanmore I, has been added. It is very useful.

I've had a Bose Sounddock for a long time and used a bluetooth adapter since iPhones moved to the lightning connector (yes it's that old) and so it was about time I upgraded. I needed something that sounds good but also can fill a decent sized room if needed, and if it looked nice then it's a bonus. The Marshall not only had classic looks but has an impressive sound. It will easily fill most lounge's unless you live in a mansion, and has very good equalizer settings within the phone app. What's nice is there's volume and tone controls on the unit itself which plays into the retro looks somewhat and also feeds into the look of the guitar amp background of Marshall. You can control the sound quickly from these controls (just bass and treble) or with more detail using the app which has a more usual equalizer setting.Bluetooth connection was quick and easy. The sound does distort slightly is really pushed to maximum volume, however the volume is then pretty loud and not really somewhere you'd want to go. To be honest if you needed to go that loud you'd probably be wanting to look for a proper full stereo system or at least getting a pair of these to use in combination.Overall, really pleased with the Stanmore II. Looks great (especially if you like the Marshall guitar amp look) and has more than enough quality sound/volume for most rooms in the average house and even shouldn't be a problem outdoors for bbq's etc.

A very Impressive quality of soundAlthough the provided instructions are extremely vague, the Marshall Bluetooth speaker was easy to set up, just using the on-off lever, plus I worked out holding down the button to switch between the Bluetooth or auxiliary button, whilst the Bluetooth was lit, as well as pressing the connect button on my phone and.... bingo... a connection was made. The quality is as expected from Marshall, although the speaker itself is quite small (about the same size as a DAB radio). I am very impressed by the smooth and satisfying sound that resonated around the room. The volume, base and treble, light up with small LED lights around the knobs, indicating the amount of tuning adjustment required, which is a very helpful feature. This is a quality speaker, quite heavy and solid. I recommend this to anyone willing to pay that little bit more for quality. A single 30-Watt woofer amplifier and two smaller 15-watt tweeter amplifiers in this little box, ensuring the sound is sharp. This is definitely 5 star quality... a piece of highly versatile audio equipment which adds depth and class to the quality of one's life.

DNA is a unique thing: Cher, Johnny Cash, Madonna, Ray Charles, David Bowie, Joe Cocker, Freddie Mercury, Bjork, Michael Jackson ... when you hear any of them sing you know who it is that's singing, and that is exactly the same for the Marshall Stanmore II Voice: The sound from the Stanmore II is full with clarity, punch, and fizz. The rich, enveloping notes that emanate from Marshall amps (I own a Marshall Valvestate 2000 AVT) and speakers is part of their DNA, and that is what you get when you buy Marshall: Uniqueness - it is there, you just have to listen.Oh yeah, it also comes with an app that replicates the functions of those controls built-in to the Stamore II plus a host of other functions, such as EQ settings for those that like to fine-tune their sound. Follow the instructions for connecting to WiFi and youll have the Stanmore II Voice up and running in no time.

What a lovely speaker! I adore the retro look and styled design of this quality speaker it really is amazing. I have to confess we have only used this to bluetooth our Samsung phones to it and had the radio on through it and then some music. I have tried audio books too....the sound is superb, its amazing clarity and the bass is great. Was very easy to set up and we had no issues in pairing our devices to it. Looks incredibly smart and gives a great sound and is far superior than other bluetooth speakers of varying prices from low to pretty high that I have tried. I haven't tried the Alexa side of this speaker though as we have no use for it but for the basic use we have for this I would say its worth it for that alone!I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this to anyone looking for a top quality bluetooth speaker

This is a fantastic speaker that you can connect your Bluetooth devices to. It looks great but is a bit of aStatement in the room and not for you if you want something discreet or easy to hide away. It is easy to set up and really does produce a marvellous rich sound that makes a difference to your viewing of a movie or listening to your favourite track. We were lucky enough to have been offered this to test run and I am not sure I would have splashed out the money on one otherwise but I have to say on this occasion I think it is absolutely worth it if you are into your music particularly as it does give much more depth to the sound.Working my way through vinyl collection this evening and I am really noticing the difference with the speaker.

I'd bought the stanmore 2 originally but then saw this deal for the same price and having done my research relalised the woburn had double the speakers. However, this was second hand, the seal was broken and a small sticker had been placed over the original seal, there were marks on the speaker as well as the grey speaker cover, I can't entirely blame amazon as it could be the manufacturer. In terms of sound quality it was excellent and very loud but it is quite large and I'm atull undecided on what to go for. There doesn't seem to be much choice in the £3-400 price bracket that meets all my needs, Bluetooth, digital output to occasionally hook up to tv, loud enough without distortion and reasonably compact!I know I'm fussy!

With the retro look familiar to anyone who has seen a Marshall speaker, this is a solid robust bit of kit. Its a decent size, albeit the smallest of the manufacturers speakers but it gives every impression of being durable. On setting up, there's a firmware update to frustrate those who want to get started immediately, but we used that time to download the app. Set up was pretty simple, and the sound is very impressive, easily as good as any other bluetooth speaker I've tried (and we've had several!!)You can also connect pretty much any device which will take a 3.5mm input and sound can also be managed the old fashioned way with knobs. All in all very a great blue tooth speaker.

I fell in love at first sight with this speaker. It's so retro and so rock and roll looking. Styled as a classic Marshall amp it's about the size of a normal shelf radio and looks amazing. It's bound to draw some admiring comments from visitors. So easy to set up that I didn't even need my hubby to assist lol.... Easy to connect to Bluetooth and connect to my Alexa. I have tried music from numerous sources and all sound fantastic. All the music was clear and defined and had some really good solid base on some of my dance tracks. Light enough to move around and easy to adjust sounds and volume etc. Expensive yes, worth every penny....... Yes.

This speaker is brilliant!! The sound quality is crisp even at high volumes without any clipping or distortion. The sub booms and having the easy adjusting knobs for volume, treble and bass allows you to tailor the sound profile for what you’re listening to. The built in Alexa works brilliantly although can be a bit of a pain to set up and get working properly. This speaker isn’t the loudest speaker at the price range (not to say it isn’t loud enough) but it makes up for any lack of noise by being a great looking, quality sounding speaker.

I literally don't even know where to begin. The sound quality is just amazing. It's got such a crisp sound and I love that you can tweak the treble and bass. It's so super powerful too. Yet to play it at max volume. But it's doesn't lose sound quality the louder it gets. I'm amazed by what you get for a small(ish) bluetooth speaker. Connects to your phone or other device quickly too. And let's not forget about the fact that it looks beautiful. Adore how it just brought the whole look I was going for in the dining room together.

Fantastic build those that grew up with jcm800/900s will feel at home. Really nice build and beautiful to look at. Sound generally very good nice bass response and pretty loud for size. Arguably built for rock and metal but my kids would probably disagree. Only odd thing is radio stations via alexa sound odd. Maybe just the station but it seemed to be picking up all the microphone sounds that were annoying. But not enough to mark it down. Beautiful device thats hard to fault. Expensive but worth it.

4.12.2019

Great sound, but I wouldn't bother paying the extra £50 for built in Alexa. She (?) obstinately refuses to play Jazz FM for example, claiming she can't find a station of that name. Then, suddenly she finds it. Aha, you think, we're OK now. Next time -"I can't find a station called Jazz FM". Ask for some jazz or classical or whatever music and all you get is the Amazon Music stations - OK as they go, but time after time gets very dull. Great sound from the speaker though and looks very cool.

I've been looking for a long time to get a speaker that will blow my socks off and not sound distorted at a high level of sound. This is a BEAST.I read a review that this or this branded speaker may not be suitable unless you listen to "mainly" rock / guitar based music. I dont, as I mainly listen to dance / house music. I feel for my neighbours now, the sound sounds PERFECT and the bass nearly rattled the glazing units out of my windows !! Highly recommend this

2.3.2019

The speaker arrived very fast, well packed original product. The sound is very good, soft and somehow in a musical way with deep bass and crisp high tones. Be ready to hear musical instruments by a differed and more exciting way. It's pretty loud for that size. The Bluetooth connection is working fine, easy and smooth operation. Tested with few devices with no problems Personally I prefer wire connection the sound is better . I am happy :)
