This product works extremely well. I use it for sky and BT vision and it works perfectly. I had an older version of this before at it finally broke after about 8 years. I have the transmitter in the loft and receiver 2 floors below and it works great. I also bought an additional transmitter for my daughters room and they all work excellently together. So now we can control SKY from 3 separate rooms. I had to buy additional sky remotes. If you do buy a separate transmitter make sure you get the right one as the one that goes in the room where you are (with the remote control) is called an IR (infrared) receiver / RF transmitter (as it receives infrared from your remote and sends (transmits)that signal to the other one via radio frequency (RF). The one in the other room that points to your sky box / vision box etc is called an IR transmitter / RF receiver. So you will see some websites calling the same device a transmitter and another website will call it a receiver. If you want an additional one so you can control sky say from two separate rooms, then get a IR receiver/ RF transmitter.

Should have bought this years ago(remote extender set and extra transmitter), no more running downstairs to change the channel or rewind sky plus cos u missed a bit!! This worked straight from the box, no setting up it is foolproof!! unless you didn't read the product info like another reviewer on the 2nd feb 09> This only replicates your remote(full sky Plus features)in another room,, it does not transmit the sky pictures to the other room!.. you need a splitter and cable for that(i already had the pictures cabled in but had no skybox control)Neat and unobtrusive i love it, The transmitter is the bit for your bedroom, the reciever is the bit for in front of the skybox,i bought an extra transmitter so i can control sky from my sons room- I also bought an exra remote control so i can leave one upstairs.. Buy It>> you will not regret it.. ahh what program shall i record.. from my bedroom!! top bit of kit.. my brother in law has had his for 7 years and it still works seamlessly.. great seller..great product.. never need to leave the bed..well except for work!!

Like a lot of people I bought these as I have gone from Sky to Virgin Media so needed a replacement magic eye type solution although in theory you should be able to use them for anything. Before I had the VM installed I had a play about with them with other tvs etc and I have to admit I couldn't get them to work at first. I was also a bit concerned reading some of the reviews as my tv is plasma. Once I got them working with the other equipment I felt a bit better. I am using it to control the VM box from the kitchen which is about 20ft away and through a couple of walls. The unit which is in the lounge is on the corner of my hearth about 2ft from the tv but at floor level and is all but invisible. It has worked perfectly for 2 weeks now with no interference from anything else. I have also fiddled about with them and they do seem to be able to bounce any IR signal. My advice would be to persevere and experiment with positioning etc. The aerials on them extend which I didn't notice at first!

I bought these to control my Sky, CD player and AV receiver from the conservatory. All the equipment is located in the lounge. It is transmitting through 4 walls over a distance of approximately 8m. I have found the Sky remote to be a little fickle in that it needs to be pointed DIRECTLY at the sender whereas the CD and amp remotes work every time as long as they are aimed at the direction of the sender. Also worth noting is the receiver unit is not in line of site of any of my equipment..yet works fine. The receiver is placed on top of a cabinet and the equipment is underneath within the cabinet. Good stuff! There is no installation required..just plug in and go.The units are also cleary marked as to which is the receiver and which is the sender. The black, pyramid design is very neat and fits in nicely with my other black AV euqipment. Highly recommended :) Note, they do not work with a small selection of brands...see manufactuers website for more info.

The first thing to say about these pyramid shaped extenders is they are very discreet and can be left on show without looking out of place.Ive got the transmitter in the lounge about 15 ft from the sky box and it sends the signal without fail to the sky box and the reciever is upstairs below the second TV and you forget they are there just point your remote at the tv and the reciever picks up the signal and sends it downstairs it also controls my DVD player whatever remote you are using this will send the signal downstairs. This worked straight out the box i had no problems getting it to work although the instructions do give examples of when interference can occur but for me they are brilliantespecially if you are having problems with the TV Link this totally does away with the need for them just plug the cable into your TV from your RF2 output of your sky box so you get the picture and sound and use this to turn over the sky channels.

I have tried two decent wireless all in one sender / receivers which frustratingly did not work in this house over one floor for me .I was getting depressed until i hit on the idea of a good splitter box from the back of sky hd box (1 input 2 output) to living room TV and upstairs to bedroom TV using new hdmi cables, excellent picture and sound was obtained on both tvs . Now the problem was how do you change channels in the bedroom and this is where Marmitek comes in to play connected up the sender near sky box ....not even on top of it .....and the recevier near the TV in bedroom upstairs Whow! what a relief no frustration,no messing about etc it worked perfectly using a spare sky remote control .the responce of commands is very good with no delay in bedroom Good price and the unit arrived before original delivery date yes, its a 5 star from me.

I've lost count of the times I ran up and down the stairs to change the sky channel for the TV upstairs. I read lots of reviews of similar devices over the years, all of which seemed to be touch and go as to whether they would work or not. None of them made me part with my money until now, mostly thanks to the reviews on here.My house is an L shape and approximately 30 feet, two thick walls and two partition walls between the receiver and transmitter, then a further 20 feet from the transmitter to the sky box. I still had my doubts as to whether it would work or not, but I shouldn't have done. This piece of kit works perfectly and has not missed a single button press so far, amazing!A Reasonable price and very easy to setup. If you have been thinking of buying one of these, don't hesitate, save your poor legs now!!

the product is exactly what i wanted, used to get a signal into an enclosed cupboard within my living room. Good explanation of product, quick service and plug in and away you go.i already have scarts buried in the wall so this was to finish everything off to control the sky box and DVD hidden away. There are obviously a lot of people out there who don't read well or listen as you have to get by half a dozen warning notices about the remote not sending pictures before you get to open the box. This product is brilliant, plug into a socket for power and place near the sky box/ DVD player and works a treat. Don't bother with the extra dangly extentions this unit works both my units on its own with no problem. The sky menu is as quick to respond via this remote as it is pointing it straight at the box.

I control my satellite box that is sited in my drawing room from my family room. I was concerned about range because my house has solid internal walls throughout and some wireless systems have problems with this solid construction (Belkin in particular!). I am very pleased to say that this product works perfectly. Just one thing that you have to watch is that if you have two televisions of the same make (mine are Sony Bravia)on standby, when you switch on the TV in the remote room where the sender unit is situated, the TV in the other room (receiver unit sited) will also switch on, which obviously you don't want to happen. It's not a problem if you switch off the TV (where the reciever unit is sited)at the socket and it doesn't concern me but worth mentioning to make others aware.

I'd not known what to expect from the polarising reviews i read (potential interference from nearby devices, Wi-Fi, etc). But i plugged the transmitter & receiver in their respective places and the setup just worked from the get go.Amazingly, didn't even need to place the units directly in line-of-sight of the IR receivers, as I'd assumed I'd have to do; they're neatly tucked out of view, but somehow still transmit & receive perfectly...?Addendum: have had to play around with the positioning of the receiver next to the Sky box, as it it can trap signals meant for other equipment when you're operating it directly with the remote, as opposed to from another room.Still very happy with the setup though, and would certainly recommend.

Item arrived as planned and well packed. Good product which looks decent on the mantel piece.I had problems locating the IR receiver on my Sky box and using the transmitter and once located, it worked slower (navigating through the menus on Sky) than using directly pointed at the box.I also found that I could not turn my Sky box on (connected to Panasonic Plasma) every time (worked 6/10 times), and ended up using a wired IR eye also plugged into the transmitter.I assumed there is interference between the wireless receiver/transmitter or the wireless capability is on the weaker side. But this was overcome with the wired IR.Overall a very good product when interference does not slow remotecommands down.

Having just switched completely to Virginmedia; the old remote control extenders no longer worked. I saw these and decided to give them a try. They arrived this morning and took me no longer than a few minutes to set up. They work perfectly for my wife to change channels etc from her bedroom TV to her work room were the Tivo Box is installed. One word of warning. DO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! Because they are wireless operated; it is easy to assume that you put the Transmitter in the Remote room and the receiver by the Box - WRONG!!! The TX/RX refers rather to the Infra Red operation - so the receiver goes in your remote room and the Transmitter goes by the Digibox/whatever.It is an easy mistake to make.

I have been using an infrared tv extender for a number of years in order to control our living room sky box from the bedroom. (We have a cable connection between the downstairs box and the bedroom tv). The old extender ceased to work recently and so I was looking for a replacement. The nearest match I could find was the Marmitek Powermid XL.This turned out to be just what we needed. I was amazed how easily the downstairs receiver picks up the Sky box signal, without any careful sighting of the pyramid. This is a far superior and much more powerful bit of kit to our earlier one. All in all we are very pleased with the extender and would recommend it to anyone needing an inter-room extender.

I'm not giving 5 stars because it arrived over a week later and had no tracking number. At last it has arrived and it works very well. The signal has to pass through three walls one of which is fourteen inches thick (an old country cottage with extensions) but it has no problem receiving, even with all the doors closed, the receiver seems to have a wide range making the pick-up of the Sky box easy as direction, albeit important, is not as critical as the unit I had before. It is an attractive piece of kit, I had to extend the lead of the PSU on the receiver as the existing lead of about one metre was a bit short. Overall impression, an excellent buy

A WARNING to other purchasers: In my case the TRANSMITTER and RECEIVER were INCORRECTLY labelled on the front of the units. The simpest way to extablish which is whish is to look for an extra 3.5mm socket on the back of one of the units. This socket defines the RECEIVER as it is provided for an additional IR LED that can be placed near the IR receptor on the device to be controlled. The simplest way to avoid confusion is to obliterate the white identity text on the front of each unit with a black permanent marker pen and refer to the LABEL stuck on the bottom of the unit as to whether TRANSMITTER or RECEIVER.
