As a builder using drills is part of the job. This makes the job so much easier and quicker with being cordless and the power too. Drilling into concrete with rebar in was so easy with the power this has. I use 5ah batteries and Bosch 5x bits even drilling through walls as well. Drilled 20 holes and 2 holes through a wall and only used 1 bar on the battery the drill is well balanced to for drilling above your head when fitting windows too. Should of bought it sooner brushless gives you 30% more battery life

I am impressed by this drill, I didn't expect too much as it's only 18volt, however it has completely exceeded my expectations. It has as much punch as my corded Makita hammer drill and holds charge whilst working to allow me to chase out six double sockets from a brick substrate and go on to drill thirty to forty holes in masonry.The battery, 3 amp hour, still didn't need charging but I did so anyway.Great performance great drill, buy one!

Brilliant drill. This sds is as powerful as 36v models out there and is half the weight. Used this drill for punching 20mm metre long drill bit through solid 9 inch walls and it did it with ease. Don't use the chisel function as that's a good way to ruin the gear box on these. If you love makita tools do yourself a favour and buy one, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it.

This drill is out of this world, nice and light you can lift high with one hand easy, it has loads of power, as well as looking great. Very compact. Very easy to move selected to move from hammer to drill.I used today to drill a 20mm drill bit through a external wall took seconds. I would say this model is as powerful as the dewalt 36 volt drill but a massively lighter.

Amazing drill. I used to use a Bosch 36v with my old company. I now bought this due to the price, and it is such a good drill. Literally no difference to the Bosch. Very good value for money. Saves so much time, and would highly recommend it to anyone. I have been using a 3.0 battery as this is the one which is in my impact. Still works excellent.

This is an excellent addition to my arsenal of tools. It is robust, portable, very easy to handle and good quality. I used it for the first time to remove wall tiles from a bathroom wall and I had the first wall clear after 10 mins. I can't fault it in any way. If you need a SDS drill this is definitely one to consider. Highly recommended.

I bought this to replace my 36v sds which became tiresome to use especially when capping cables. I can use this one handed and overhead which is great, there doesn't seem to be a difference in power when drilling 5.5,8mm holes compared to the 36v. I've used it to drill a 16mm hole through two coarse of tough brick and was great.

Light enough to use one handed and not too bulky. Drills into brick well, not tried other materials as primarily got it to drill fixings for electrical conduit installation. Very happy so far. Previously had a dewalt 24v which this drill replaces, half the dewalt weight.

Typical Makita quality, built like a tank, comfortable and well balanced due to the location of the motor in relation to the grip.Oh and with the right bit, goes through brick and stone like a knife through butter with minimal vibrational feedback.Superb bit of kit.

I really cannot say anything bad about this product,its compact,lightweight an loud enough to hear over a drill the battery lasts at least 3 days before it needs charging again and the torch is nice and bright I really do recommend all trades to get one many thanks

I bought this tool as a replacement while my corded SDS is in for repairs. I do not know why it has taken me so long to buy one, it has handled everything i have thrown at it. It is definitely going to be the favourite tool in this electricians toolbox.

Great tool, I hadn’t noticed how worn out working with my old cable SDS drill had become until started using this Makita. Cuts through walls like butter. Great quality and the DX07 dust extractor fits like a glove and saves the vacuuming up!

Unbelievable value'and the power and weight are perfect for using 1 handed when using a ladder.I've used many other hammer drills but this has got to b the best of them allI know it sounds sad but it even looks good

Great bit of kit seems to go through anything the 240v did good breaker as well, wish it had the safety two button feature but can use the forward reverse button to pause it by pushing to the middle. Scott

I bought this drill to replace my Bosch corded sds and if I'm honest I can't notcieba difference in power. Yes you may have to charge your batteries more often but it's lightweight and easy to manoeuvre.
