Replaced my 14 year old Makita with this - it’s simply a better version in every respect. You will be impressed.The only negative is the box. It’s purely plastic latches (vs previous metal) are flimsy and difficult to lock down - so definitely won’t last long. Its also large and effectively empty - so yes its flexible/future proof ... but if you just have a drill, a coupe, of batteries, some drill bits, it is still 60% empty. Use of an old towel is the answer. So 9/10 overall because of the box.

I love my Makita range, this was the first item I bought, I don't really use the box as my drill is always out. I also have bought a twin charger, as my mower takes 2 batteries.I haven't done much drilling yet, but lots of screwing, which went very well.My man that does has used it more, he's never complained about the power or anything.It's not too heavy, even for my arthritic hands, so 5 stars all around.

The DHP484 replaces my ageing Makita kit and the new brushless motor blows my old drill out of the water. Paired with two 5 amp hours batteries I can see this lasting ages. I'm so impressed i have just purchased their hedge trimmer!Good bye Ryobi two as I inherited so of there drill and a charger which blew up after 10 charges...utter plop.

Bought as a replacement for an ancient Makita drill that had finally given up the ghost after 10+ years of service.The new Brushless motor is amazing in comparison - faster, more torque, shorter, easier on battery life and the addition of the LED work light is a really useful.enhancement.

Love! Been using my first ever Black and Decker drills since day dot but have been upgrading to higher end tools where funds and opportunity (offers) arise! You really can’t have too many drills/drivers..this drill performs and I’ve enjoyed it since it arrived. Says it all really!

Great piece of kit, well balanced with power to spare. This is the 4th Makita battery drill I’ve owned, they last well, can handle being dropped, and are man enough for most jobs. I’m a carpenter/joiner, so this will be used on a daily basis, that’s why I stuck with a Makita

So far very happy with the purchase. My first brushless. Great torque and speed, comfortable to hold. Put in some 150 pc of 70-80mm floorscrews, battery level dropped only one notch (3AmH battery). 160mm screws went into the wood like into butter. 5 stars, absolutely.

This product is simply amazing, so far I have used it close to one dozen times for drilling and screwing and the battery is still showing full charge. I am astonished and would not hesitate to recommend it. It is without doubt the best powertool I have ever bought.

I got the product as used but working perfectly/pretty much new. But the action mode setting is stuck in hammer. It’s a shame. It’s from 2018. So outside any warranty and I have a choice to send it back or contact makita. Not the end of the world but disappointing.

quality drill with loads of power pair it with the 5 ah battery and it's brilliant. It's got a bit of weight to it but in a good way so it feels sturdy. Been using it all day today with no problems. Delivered quick and at a good price.

Top of the range combi drill for home DIY projects. 21-speed/torque settings with 2 gears, quick charger, brushless motor, quiet and powerful. I was playing around with many other brands and eventually ended up getting this Makita 484.

This is a very nice combi drill - light and powerful. The brushless motor is very powerful and gives a lot of use from a single battery charge. The worklight is a very useful addition.

If you want a drill driver that just works, get this one. Go for the 3Ah batteries they are lighter and more cost effective than the 5Ah ones.

Compared to my old Makita drill/driver the power is brilliant well worth the money should have purchased it a lot sooner than I did

Very powerful above Combi drill . Not good choice for DIY . It needs to be out working daily. Very impressed with this drill.
