This bottle gives my whisky shelf some nice character. I tried the 46 with my dad, shortly after a dram of the typical supermarket Maker's Mark as a comparison. This is a bit stronger than the other MM. The taste is very similar, but the price is reflected in that the edges are rounded off and there are plenty of prominent flavours coming out, in particular the "sweet shop" combination followed by coconut, leaving a lingering banana aftertaste.I haven't compared the findings from enjoying this with family and friends to the professionals online, I'd be interested to see if they got the same as we did. I am not a professional by any means so you'll probably get something completely different.Overall, not bad if you can get it on a deal for £30 like I did.

This stuff was really nice, I'm a fan of Makers Mark anyway and consider either one a great drink. The thing I always consider is the price. The original and this varies in price, and the bourbons seem to vary quite a bit. When this is cheap and others aren't on offer, this is worth a purchase, however I'm unconvinced it'd be worth £14 more (which it can be) over a regular bottle.Well worth a purchase if you've never had it before or certainly a worthy gift for a bourbon fan. I believe it is superior to the other premium offerings from the other major makers. Also compared side by side with the original MM, you can taste the more complex flavours and more oaky tones.

As a malt whisky drinker I often like to dabble in the bourbon field. This particular bourbon landed in my Christmas stocking this year.Initial thoughts were there was a little bit of spice lingering in the background a la Glenlivet single malt ... but as you sip away, (and trust I had to for the purposes of this review, lol), the smoothness of the bourbon bore out.I took the first sips neat, but subsequently I added a wee dash of water (my preferred choice for malt and bourbon) - the water transformed the bourbon no end ... releasing a honeyed aroma which was delightful.A winner from Makers Mark.

Cards on the table, I’m a huge Maker’s Mark fan. It’s the drink I always come back to as, no matter what I try, I pine for the taste and buzz of Makers.Makers Mark changed the way I drink alcohol. It’s fantastic in every way. But Makers 46 is on another level again. The taste and flavour and all-over smoothness is such a treat - you fell like you’re being spoilt experiencing these delights.I can’t recommend 46 enough. If you love Makers Mark - you will adore this. It is honestly the bet thing I’ve ever drank.Enjoy!

Highly recommended - it didn't disappoint even after reading all the hype! The taste is similar to the Maker's Mark standard bourbon whiskey - always an excellent bourbon - but this is more complex and well worth the extra money. The flavour starts initially with a welcoming warmth on the tongue, then develops into flavours of caramel, walnuts and Christmas cake spices! Like another of my favourites, Four Roses Single Barrel, this delivers in spades and has become this bourbon whiskey drinker's favourite.

This is quiet possibly my favourite bourbon. It is is a complete 50/50 between this and JD Single Barrel. 45/50.I have tried about 15 different quality bourbons and this is the one that sticks in my mind the most. The only other bourbon i have purchased more than once is Jack Daniels Single Barrel (Treat) and Bulleit (everyday treat)I am currently drinking JD single barrel as i am typing thing but currently thinking about maker mark 46.Would and will buy again as soon as the Mrs isnt looking :)

Bought this on offer at £28 and was not disappointed one bit in this whiskey. You don't feel the extra ABV (47%) at all - it's smooth (no burn), sweet, rich and full of vanilla, barley sugar and caramel flavours. Knocks many regular bourbons into a cocked hat. I'm sure it would mix well in a cocktail but it would be a waste in my view - get a cheaper bottle of Jim Beam or Jack Daniels if you're going to throw ice and cola into it. Nearest comparison I could draw would be with a Woodford Reserve.

I'm so glad this has become easier to get hold of. It's a truly fantastic bourbon. I love the way they have chosen to not mess with the mash and instead focus on the maturing process to create a whole new expression. It's Maker's Mark still but the charred oak staves they add to the barrels make it behave more like a spicy rye than the smooth wheat dominated regular. It's the same great bourbon but with way more complexity and intensity. Outstanding.

Purchased this as a one-off as i am a big fan of Makers Mark. Smooth taste and not overpowering. I would probably stick to the standard Makers Mark as it suits more c***tails. I would say that if you did like your bourbons then this would be a good one to have in your collection but it is not the best i have ever tasted! If this comes at a good offer then would suggest purchasing otherwise i would recommend to stick to the original.

I typically drink Irish whisky because of its smoothness, but recently shifted to bourbon to experiment. I have tried buffalo trace, wild turkey, the cheaper makers, four rose, jim bean ext, and this is by far the best. Its beyond smooth and has nice caramel notes to it. If you're looking for a bourbon to drink neat then this is the one for you, especially if its on sale for 30 quid. Also cool bottle.

If you've been drinking standard Jack and fancy a change upgrade you can't go wrong with Makers 46What a truly great bourbon. It has a caramelly smell to it and the taste is smooth and has a nice smokeyness to it.My mum can't stand Whisky or bourbon but actually loves this, so that's a story in itself.I got my first bottle on Amazon subscription for a truly amazing price.

It is fairly expensive when you compare it across the board.... but if you are a fan of the standard makers, you'll be best friends with this! A real solid Bourbon, the 46 probably has one of the most unique flavours amongst bourbon whiskey.Nearly my favourite, second only to a Blanton's (which you can't buy on Amazon why the dndndn not!?! ?).

The first thing you will notice about this bourbon is just how smooth it is. I normally like my bourbon with a bite, but for this I am forced to make an exception, it is so delicious, a true treat for the nose and the tongue. I love my bourbon, and this is a lovely drink. (on a side note, the bottle is lovely)

I'm more of a single malt drinker (prefer Islay) but I decided to try a few bourbons for a bit of a change. This is far too easy to drink and is disappearing at an alarming rate. Nice level of spice, decent kick and a very smooth flavour. I will be buying more of this.

A definite grade up from the standard Makers. Can be enjoyed with mixers or as a sipper.Has a pleasant deep oak and caramel aroma. The palate is of caramel, cinnamon and apple. The finish develops quite surprisingly, with heaps of caramel, cinnamon and tart apple.
