Magnitone - Pluckit Superglide Mini Epilator - AquaMagnitone London specialises in this retro quirky styling - I've had a Magnitone London BareFaced! Cleansing & Toning Brush for a couple of years, and it's just as cute.I've been using epilators for over twenty years and have compared many different ones over that time. This is a good budget option. However, the key drawback for me is that it does not have a light and, now that I've tried an epilator with a light, I wouldn't go back. Also, it is in no way "mini" - it's about 75% of the size of the other cordless epilators I've tried, and the same size as corded epilators. See below for more on the pros and cons. Some tips on epilating:* If you are new to epilating, yes, yes it does hurt, a lot - but only at first! Your body has its own natural painkillers that kick in after a couple of minutes, so I would recommend doing a bit of epilating then waiting a minute to give your body the chance to do its thing, then carrying on. After a while, the pain fades away entirely. It is the strangest thing!* You could also take a painkiller half an hour before starting too.* Move the epilator across your skin *really slowly*; rushing means you'll leave loads of hairs behind.* Prepare your skin by raising the hairs first - a quick exfoliation (eg with a mitt) will help with that - and wipe over with a baby wipe to help the epilator glide better=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* Quirky retro styling in a gorgeous pale turquoise colour* The epilator works well and quickly gets out even small hairs, and the results of epilation really do last for weeks* Cordless, so there are no trailing wires (recharge it via the USB lead)* Comes with wide and narrow fittings for legs and underarms* A good budget introduction to epilating* It’s the same size and weight as corded epilator seven though it is rechargeable (cordless ones tend to be larger and heavier because they have to contain a battery too)=== NIGGLES ===* Without a light on the underside, it's back to twisting around towards the light to see where the hairs are or if you've missed any, which is particularly tricky when working on your legs because you need to go all the way round.* Because it is cordless, it can only be used when charged - and, if you run out of charge part-way through use, it won't work on the charging lead so you'll have to wait.* Cordless devices are heavier than corded ones, because they also have to include a rechargeable battery* I don't know why this is called a "mini" epilator, because it is the same size as corded epilators and about 74% of the size of cordless ones (they tend to be larger because they have to include a battery too). I would say this is “small” rather than “mini”. It weighs 130g on my kitchen scales compared to 170g for my Panasonic wet/dry epilator.* No carry pouch, so you'll need to provide your own means of keeping the various bits and bobs together (eg charging lead, head attachment), unless you want to keep it in its box* There are no instructions* Not a wet/dry epilator, and I’ve got used to using mine in the bath with some body wash on the head to work up a lather to help it glide.* Changing the attachment means taking off the whole epilator head rather than just the attachment, making it a bit trickier to doFor sale at the time of writing this review at £34.99.

The lady of the house tried this out and the following her views and observations. This is a new brand or make to her as she has not come across it in the past but regardless it’s still what it is. Its quite a pleasant colour, complete with two heads and two speeds and a swift read of the easy to understand instructions explain everything plus has a USB charging lead/plug to charge the built-in batteries (so will save on buying batteries long term) and it’s handy as it can be charging up via her lap-top USB socket and so does two jobs in one - use the lap-top and charge this device up at the same time.In use its quite easy and straightforward as it basically grabs the hairs between the mini revolving rollers/discs and sort of yanks or pulls the hairs out and while it sounds painful just reading it, in practice you feel a sort of mild ‘sting’ in its operation but this is to be expected with such a device anyway as the last one she used basically had the same feeling but all that is forgotten afterwards as the final result is smooth skin and so far its staying that way from its initial use. It a nice compact size, easy to take away if travelling but above all else is reasonably priced (reviewed September 2018) plus with the built-in batteries has no real running costs and overall it does work well. This is a great little epilator (it's about two thirds of the size of a standard epilator) that does its job admirably, removing hairs quickly and efficiently. This epilator comes in a choice of two colours (aqua and pink), I received the aqua colour to review. This little machine incorporates 32 smooth tweezing discs that spin around incredibly fast stripping out the hair as they go. This is not a pain free method of removing hair, however the more often you epilate the less it hurts.I've been using epilators of varying efficiency for about thirty years and it is by far my preferred way of defuzzing. There are two heads with this epilator, one regular and one precision as well as two speeds making it just the job for removing hairs from legs, underarms, bikini line and anywhere else. I have used this particular product twice now and each time it has removed all traces of hair even catching the really short hairs as it goes.Recommended.

Let's face it, hair plucking hurts. Pluckit is no exception, especially under arms. I didn't dare take it near my bikini line. It works best on legs after a hot bath, when plucking hairs is easier. If you shave your legs, you're going to have to wait a while before you can let Pluckit loose on your hair removal, as the hairs need to be fairly long. It comes in a nice box which is handy for storage. The instructions are OK, but the areas of use for this product are not clearly explained. I was curious to know if I could use it on my upper lip for facial hair removal. There is only one description on the back of the box 'For use on legs, under arms and bikini line' - nothing that I could find in the instructions.I like that it charges via a USB - handy for travelling.

This is a very handy portable epilator that’s great for the casual user. It states it’s ‘mini’ but it’s not overly tiny - it’s around the same size as my plug in one but it is smaller than the longline style epilators. The fact it can be charged and used cordless is very handy - I’ve only ever had corded epilators which can be restricting if you don’t have plug sockets in your bathroom like me.It epilates well, I find it’s much more comfortable epilating after a hot bath or shower when your pores are open and hair removes more easily with less pain. You get used to the sensation though and it becomes more bearable with regular use.Very handy, great for travel and charges via usb.

I think this is a very good epilator for the price. The result is good and it's pretty much the same pain and gain as with more "advanced" epilators.I like the retro look and it's easy to setup and start using. The cordless feature means that you can epilate where it suits you best, but it also means you have to remember to charge it - something that is an issue in our house...It is quite big for a "mini", but I actually think that's good as it covers a good area each time you run it over the leg or underarm.Overall we're quite happy with the value for money.

This is a dinky wee epilator but very powerful. It charges with usb which is handy as it is thoroughly portable. It works well too and has two heads for less pain. For those of you who have not used an epilator before, it is sore initially but you very quickly become de-sensitized and it doesn't hurt at all. It is also a very effective and easy method of hair removal. The hairs stay away for a long time and become much more wispy in time. This epilator is great value for money as it is such a strong wee thing. I thoroughly recommend this.

This is a good epilator for the price, it has two different heads for different precision. I tested it on my legs and it naturally had the initial 'ouch' factor that you get with all epilators but you get used to it quickly and although more painful, I prefer using this to shaving as it seems to take longer for hairs to grow back. It also came already charged and is charged using a USB cable. I'm not sure about calling it 'mini' as it wasn't much smaller than any others I've tried, though

Good for the price - works straight out of the box. Lightweight, portable, and definitely lasts more than constantly buying sharp razors. The only downside is that the hair length needs to be visible (2mm) before it will work properly.I wouldn't expect it not to hurt, not in a pain way but more discomfort - it is plucking out multiple hairs at speed like tweezers would after all.Charges with it's own specific charger, comes in the box.

I love this mini-epilator ... its compact size and shape are great and the USB charger that's included is practical and makes the whole kit easy to use and store. As an epilator it works very well on legs, underarms and bikini line. It's a great budget option, particularly for younger people who are just starting out on epilating. It is a great fresh aqua colour (also comes in a nice pink) which looks quite young and pretty.

As a starter epilator this is quite a good one although a bit on the pricey side for me. It is quite basic, feels good in your hands and has a strong motor. Comes in a box (no bag) and extra head and brush. To be honest the quality of it feels a little plasticky compared with others I've used. One main bonus is that it is really easy to recharge and there are no batteries. I will stick with my phillips one though.

I have not heard of this brand before, but it is a really neat epilator ideal for travelling. It comes with a very useful USB charger which will work out cheaper than batteries. As long as you follow the instructions this epilator will give you years of use.I havent checked but it will probably be cheaper than other well known brands.I also like the colour - aqua is one of my favourite colours.

26.9.2018

This mini epilator is just brilliant. It may be small but it is nonetheless very effective. It removes hairs quickly leaving the skin smooth. Yes, there is that "ouch" factor when first used but you quickly become used to this.Congratulations to this company for choosing USB charging rather than batteries - much more convenient.A very neat design and small enough to take on your travels.

I use epilator a lot and I have found the more you use them the more you get used to them. My daughter in law reckons I am hard core, as I love them . This little model from Magitone is great . I used it on my legs and I can honestly say it didn't hurt. It charges by a USB cable . This is the perfect size to travel with as it fits in the palm of you hand . Nice colour, and works well.

This works well to remove hair. It simply grabs hair, and yanks. It's so quick, that it's just a quick sting. Works well under the arms and in other areas where razors can struggle a bit. Simply charge up and you are ready to go. There is no plug, the lead runs off USB, but you will need to plug the usb end into some sort of power source Very easy to use.
