There are more powerful keyring lights, some smaller and some with multiple functions. I have used several. This one take easlily purchased, long lasting aaa batteries and has a decent loop attachment ( I take the tough cord off and simply use the ring directly through the torch base and onto my keyring.). Try buying the right button cells at your hotel or corner shop. An AAA battery? no problem.I had one on my car key spat for a dozen years, (three Duracell battery changes). The black torch got rubbed down to its aluminium case against my other keys. Dropped in mud, on pavements, continued to work fine until I lost it- and have purchased the same again. Enough light to look for a dropped purse/wallet in the cinema, read a book durring a power cut or find your way home on unfamiliar forest paths. There are none as small, hardy, cheap, with such universally obtainable batteries and as reliable. The only downside is the case colour will dissapear after several years of company with several keys, though it doesn't affect the function. The fancy led alternatives I have used don't take kindly to sharp knocks. Even with a broken seal ( easily replaced) the SOLITARE is washed out , dried, seal replaced and its up and running. Led electronics are fine 'til they get wet or battery corrosion strikes... the SOLIARE's simplicity avoids all that. Also led's torches I have used have all tended to switch on when stuffed in pocket with a bunch of keys. The MAGLITE SOLITARE needs to be twisted to switch on and avoids accidental wasteage. Really a good basic design, hard to beat- at any price.IN A NUTSHELL:-Portable Keyring Power That Continues To Shine When Others Fail.

So our household has a few maglites. The larger ones that use the D cell batteries as well as the smaller ones that use the AA. These are all really old flashlights that still use the non LED lightbulbs. In recent years we got a few LED flashlights (self charging for emergencies as well as LED handlamps). LEDs are great for their brightness, energy efficiency, and long life but we wanted the traditional lightbulbs because the LEDS were hurting our girls' eyes when they accidentally looked at the light. If you have kids in your family you know all they want to do is look directly into them or shine them in your face or their sibling's faces. We have two little girls so we bought this cause it's pink and small. The older one loves it. She uses it all the time for play and when the power goes out. And it's a perfect size for her small hands. We're planning to get another one for the younger one. We're still on the original battery it came with. She's used it for many hours and it's still going strong. As with all maglites I like the candle function (where you unscrew the top).Just to be clear this uses the traditional old school lightbulb and one AAA battery.

This is a great light if you know its limitations. First, it is not a very bright light...I knew this going in so that was not a surprise. I didn't want a bright flashlight...I have many of those. After 3 months, I can say that it meets most of the needs I bought it for. I really wanted a flashlight to use around my house so I can see without disturbing my family. It's great to help see into the dark reaches of the cupboards, the pantry and even the garage so I don't need to use the main light. This particular light has a super cool feature...you can remove the head and use it as a lamp. I can see this as being a perfect light for a small tent or trailer, its comes with a lanyard so you can suspend it.There are many flashlights you can buy at a dollar store and I own a few, but they are all cheaply made. This flashlight is very high quality, It is small and lightweight, fits in my pocket and I would feel comfortable with the reliability and being able to depend on it in a pinch if I need light.

Mini mags are best when you need a strong but small light in a bit wider beam than the Princeton Pulsar.Takes easily replacable batteries that are easy to get and has a sturdy metal casing.Still light enough to dangle off keyring.I currently have this, a pulsar and mini leatherman attached to my keychain and still manage to carry everything fairly comfortable in my pocket, satisfying my inner survivalist instincts.Mini Mag fits well in the cool tool group.Only minus point is that if I have the light attached to keys for too long without checking, it loosens up where you attach the batteries and finally comes apart.I ended up loosing the light and the battery casing and realised that I only have the keyring bit left.Never mind, still the coolest small torch I have found, I just keep the battery attachment closed properly from now on.

This torch comes in a sturdy black plastic case. You simply press the buttonto open on side.It measures 1.25cm in diameter & 8cm in length.Light produced is of a warm yellow, hence description - Incandescent light. It is quite bright, and you can vary the intensity of focus by adjusting the torch head;this is simply achieved by either a clockwise or anticlockwise turn of torch head.Turn torch on/off by same action, i.e. an anticlockwise turn switches torch on, andclockwise turn switches torch off.A single AA battery is supplied with product and easily fits into barrel of torch.Torch is small enough to attach to keyring. It is supplied with a suitable keyring for this purpose.Quality of torch is excellent, looked after well, it should last many years. Very solid and strong.Overall, I would highly recommend this item.

I bought this keychain Maglite to replace a red one that I had for over 20 years. The red one was the same Maglite, just not the pink breast cancer style. This is a great little flashlight. I have no control over the lighting outside my front door and I use it to light up the door knob to find the key hole. You can also unscrew the top of the flashlight to make it look like a candle, which is a safe alternative to using a lighter during a slow song at a concert. The only reason that my red flashlight died was that the battery exploded, which was no fault of the flashlight. I ordered this breast cancer style Maglite flashlight the same day that my red one died, and it has the same craftsmanship.Even after 20 years, Maglite is still making the same great-quality flashlight. I hope to get 20 years out of this one!

With battery inserted light will not turn off when end cap is turned. Light stays on and will not turn off.I took the end cap from my old pink Maglite Solitaire The old one always worked until the battery died this time.Even with pliers and vise grip, a salesman could not get the old one open to insert new battery. Really messed it up.However, the old end cap placed on the new pink Breast Cancer Solitaire did work to turn off the light.I would have returned this because of the defective part; but unknowingly, I did not open the package until my return time was up. Is there someone to contact to get a second end cap that would work since I ordered two of these and only have one old end cap thatwill work.

I bought this item because I thought this was a big flashlight that I could use to hit people with when I go out on my nightly patrol around my backyard. I've never actually seen anybody in my backyard, but it would be kind of cool to hit them with a big flashlight if I did. Anyhow, it turns out that a "AAA" battery isn't actually one A bigger than an AA battery, but smaller. When this flashlight arrived I realized to my horror that it's only appropriate for hitting a cat.So I hit my neighbors cat with it. The cat ran away and the neighbor came over and punched me. Then I sued him for punching me, but the judge said I had it coming because I hit the cat with a flashlight. Then everybody laughed at me.

This is the third Maglite Solitaire I've bought. It's very handy; I keep it on my keychain. basically it does what it says on the tin: delivers light reliably in a small package, and has been very useful poking around briefly in dark places. Others I've had have broken or not been practical. One criticism (and the reason it's my third after many years!): the body tends over months to gradually unscrew from the end bit on the keychain; unless you tighten it every so often it will fall off and be lost. Nowadays the LED version may be more practical; the AAA battery Solitaire is only for occasional use as the battery life is short. Also, everyone has a mobile phone usable for emergency light.

I bought this flashlight for my keychain because of its appropriate size and battery life. It is not by any means the brightest keychain flashlight, but it has a really long battery life at five hours, so when I need a flashlight, there's less chance that I'll have a dead battery. The spare bulb within the base means I won't have to immediately worry about bulb failure; when the first one dies, I'll replace it, and order a new bulb (or flashlight) on Amazon. The lifetime warranty on Maglite products is honestly a joke, since they are so durable. My Parents have had one of the larger Maglites for at least 20 years, and the only thing that ever goes bad is the batteries and bulbs.

If you haven't used one, you're probably living in a cave. It's a 1 AAA cell flashlight that fits comfortably on a key ring or in your pocket. Twist to turn on so the batteries won't drain because you touched it in your pocket. A nice color. Under $10. Good for a gift, good for a filler item if you need something to hit the $25 minimum for free shipping. Relatively waterproof. And it works. I have one that froze shut, being aluminum, it needs minimal care to keep it working. And the battery is included, as is a small wrist lanyard. And you can't have too many flashlights. Quite pleased with this purchase.Five stars reserved for the Gatlight from [...]

I bought this flashlight as a gift. It was delivered quickly, days before it was supposed to. It looks really pretty, pink and is a breast cancer pink tone color. It works very good and is well worth the price. I would recommend this Breast Cancer Maglite Solitaire flashlight to anyone that collects breast cancer items and needs a neat little flashlight that will fit almost anywhere you need it to fit...in your purse, pocket, dash of your car. just about anywhere. She really loved the flashlight. And if i have an occasion to need to buy another one, i would buy the same one, from the same seller.

Very good light as you would expect from Maglite. I bought from them as they are a very well known company for making good sturdy torches. I was not disappointed. Shockproof and waterproof and not a bad light source from something so small. Good for finding keyholes or navigating abit of unlit street or even going for walks (althought a bigger torch would be more suited). It is perfect for putting on your keyring like I have with mine so you always have it to hand. Comes with a nice little box and a spare bulb in the other end of the torch. Would definitely recommend.
