For many years us older Maglite users have craved a torch which will give us a high light output LED and Lithium battery efficiency but coupled with Maglite build quality and practicality.Well crave no more..This Maglite ML150LR is a superficially similar to the 38 yr old Maglite MagCharger. Smaller and lighter overall it retains the charging cradle and two ring stroke of genius contact system concept allowing for quick insertion or removal into its charging cradle, the Type III anodising and the very high build quality and paint work of the original. But of course there's also been a host of improvements such as a high output LED giving up to 1082 Lumens of light output ,a quck focus systemto adjust the beam from spot to flood a high efficiency Lithium Iron Phosphate battery and a massively improved charge and run time. It also has a much more reliable solid state switch and the ability to program it without the need for a computer. Unlike virtually all its competitors this Maglite ML150LR allows the beam to be focused from a flood to a high intensity spot. It is supplied with the charging cradle, mains adapter, battery and a in car adapter. In use it produces a powerful ,brilliant white beam with no sickly green colour cast seen elsewhere. Despite the power, it is pocketable via a large 'Hoodie' type pocket and is substantially built enabling shall we say 'other uses'. It also reintroduces the Maglite 'doughnut' beam at the extreme flood end of the head setting but this can be dialled out without too much of a problem. Is it perfect? Not quite. This torch despite all the new tech heat sink etc runs hot. And I mean HOT after a few mins of full power use. This goes for all LED torches but this is probably the hottest running torch I've come across. It would be nice if Maglite were to provide a glass rather than a plastic front lens and a metal rather than a plastic reflector. But these are minor points.Overall this is easily my favourite torch out of the dozen or so that I own and would strongly recommend as a once in a very long time purchase. It has brought Maglite right into the 21st Century.

I have been a fan of Maglites since I was a kid going night fishing with my dad and using an AA mini mag about 18-20 years ago.I know there's plenty of brands that have eclipsed Maglite in terms of power output since maglite were slow to get on the LED tech. However its not all about the number of Lumens, its about build quality, a tried and tested design, the optics, Reflector, power supply etc... You can't argue that Maglite are pioneers in this respect.I am pleased to see Maglite clawing themselves into the present day over recent years, first with the ML300L (which I also own), and now with this, the ML150LR and at nearly 1100 Lumens in a tried and tested maglite designed body,oh boy is this a Beast of a light. This light is close in size to a 3C maglite, its head focusing system is very very quick from flood to spot, quarter turn I'd say. The light is a good weight in the hand and there is no battery rattle at all. Very very solid.Power is in the form of a Lifepo4 lithium pack which is rechargeable via the mag charger style cradle. 3 modes out of the box, high, medium and eco.The output from this light is INCREDIBLE! It is considerablly brighter than my cars headlights and oh boy does it throw. You will have no problem lighting well into the distance, hundreds of meters easily. The charging system is a great idea, I know its been around for a number of years but this is the latest and most refined revision.A great feature of the charging cradle is that it runs on 12v input with a max of 2.5A. This means using a cheap USB PD 'Poll Detector / Trigger' with a barrel jack on one end, you can select 12v from a USB PD supply such as a portable power bank and charge this light anywhere you happen to be, no need for a car or mains. On that note, it comes with a 2 pin mains adapter so you'll need to get a UK one capable of 12v 2.5A.Overall this is the best Maglite money can buy in terms of light output and technology. Don't fall for some cheap Chinese light claiming a million lumens. This will destroy them.

Solid as a rock. Well made. Extremely bright. Charges in no time from the charging unit. The only note of caution is that it comes with a car cigarette charger, which I will be using as it’s going to live in my car in the off chance I need it in an emergency however if you intend to keep on charge at home in the UK you need to buy an adaptor because the domestic plug is the US type and not a uk three pin plug. Not an issue for me as it’s going in my car so I am very happy with the maglight rechargeableTorch.

Superb product. Unbelievably bright and useful to have dimmed beam when required.
