We bought this for our 6 year old son (honestly) who had seen a 'toy' ice cream maker that was about the only thing he wanted for Christmas. Couldn't bring ourselves to buy the toy one which generally got terrible reviews and so my wife suggested we got him a 'real' one. What a good idea that was - we were all gathered around it making the most glorious raspberry ice cream in no time. It's helping our kids gather even more interest in cooking and good foods. We recently had friends round and I made my special desert of Tiramisu which everyone enjoyed. One of the kids wondered if the remaining half a bowl of it could be made into ice cream so another half hour of fun was had just doing that!It was I have to say fantastic! It's a very simple thing. You cool the ice cream maker's bowl down in the freezer (for 12 hours I think). Take it out, attach the motor and stirring attachment, pour in the ingredients and keep checking till it's ready. The ice cream is best straight from the bowl but you can store it in the freezer, you just have to give it a few minutes to soften slightly before using it.It's a great present as far as my son is concerned & a great addition to the kitchen. As a tip keep the mixing bowl in the freezer as you never know when the urge will take you (or the kids) to knock up a delicious easy to do desert!

I can't believe I spent money on shop bought ice creams now I have this machine!I have so far made two bacthes of the finest and most unique flavours to teh highest commercial standard and with this machine, it was tres facile!!Once the bowl is frozen, it took about 30 mins to produce a pint of vanilla base to which I added my secret ingredients and in no time at all, I was acting like a michelin star chef with all my friends asking how I was so talented!! lolGreat product, easy to use, and takes up very little room. Good thing is you need to freeze the bowl in advance so it puts paid to those who have little willpower where ice cream is concerned and are worried about putting on weight (unless you keep the bowl in teh freezer permanently!!)Excellent product, this is my second one, the first one I made a gift of but it was so good I had to get another for myself!

I bought this as a family prezzy for the summer months. I had a play a week ago and all I can say is wow. What a simple and easy to use device. We made ice-cream a few times but have now settled down to eating frozen yogurts. They are quicker to make and a lot healthier.( Perfect for getting a couple of portions of fruit into the kids.) They think they are getting Ice-cream.The unit is now kept in the freezer ready for use. When we are about to sit down to eat we put the yogurt mix into the device and switch it on. By the time we have eaten the main course the ice-cream or yogurt is ready to eat.If you want a simple way to make your own flavours this is the item to buy. It's also simple to clean.Ihighly recommend it.

We bought this thinking maybe we could make ice cream once in a while but we have had a constant supply of ice cream in the freezer, easy to clean and easy to use, make sure the bowl is completely dry before refreezing and the small holes at the top of the bowl do not contain any water otherwise the motor will not turn the paddle, reason being when you switch on the motor a small plastic prong fits inside the hole, if its iced over the machine is never going to work,QUICK VANILLA ICE CREAM RECIPE mix 500mls - 600mls and a small tin of condensed milk in a jug, add the seeds of 2 vanilla pods and pour slowly into the bowl, after 15 minutes you will have the creamiest ice cream you ever tasted.

I'd never used an ice cream maker before but have found this one incredibly easy to use. It's plastic paddle (for churning the ice cream) looks flimsy when you unpack it but it is certainly up to the job. It is easy to assemble, use and clean afterwards, and if you follow the (easy) instructions it works well enough. There are also a few easy to follow recipes included with the machine (although I've not tried these yet, following my own instead). I am sure there may be better / more complex machines on the market (that I may graduate to in time) but I think is really good value for money especially to a novice user and I have been very pleased with its performance.

Produces ice cream and sorbet so delicious I don't think we shall be buying any more ready made! I was pleasantly surprised that it freezes more quickly than the recipe book and instructions suggest. The recipe book is excellent and provides a good starting point for using you own imagination - I have quickly started to invent my own and am finding that I can use less cream and sugar than the basic recipes. The bowl is very easy to clean, although it seems impossible not to waste some of the ice cream as it freezes to the inner surface. I have it stored permanently in my freezer so I can make frozen yoghurt ice cream any time.

Plus points:This machine makes excellent soft scoop ice cream. I have tried vanilla, chocolate chip and almond. The machine mixes the ice cream well, even with chocolate chips in.Small and compact for easy storage - when the bowl is not waiting in the freezer for the next batch!Very easy to clean.Negatives:You need quite a large freezer, as the whole base unit has to be frozen before use. So it might be a costly exercise if you have to invest in a bigger freezer to accommodate it.Having to refreeze before a second batch can be made is tiresome, or am I just greedy wanting more?

This ice cream make is very simple to use and make a great quality product, if you follow your ingredience to the letter. The only down side i have found is the time it takes to freeze the bowl of the ice cream maker. I think extra bowls should be readely available to buy as an extra item so you can make more than one flavour at a time. Approx freezing time required is 12 hours prior to using your ice cream maker.Overall its a great item with just the one floor in it, (extra bowls).

Easy to use and makes really smooth ice cream. Great for when you get that craving and in 15 - 20 mins its ready - dont overfill the bowl though. We leave ours in the freezer all the time so it is ready, but leave it to 'warm up' for a few mins otherwise the mixture freezes to the sides too quickly - otherwise, FAB. Only problem we have is what flavours to make, though low fat ready made custard and half fat cream with lemon curd is currently tops...the choice is endless.

I bought this after much deliberation and my Husband telling me it won't get used and he's not that keen on Icecream anyway! But it was my birthday! I love it I can make icecream in about 20 mins that is as fattening or not as I want! And as for my husband he keeps asking me what flavour I'm making next and when! Good value easy to use and easy to clean. I keep the frozen bit in the freezer so it's ready to go. it makes about 6 good helpings if to full capacity.

As this ice cream meaker was made by magi-mix i expected it to be good quality and it is. The recipe book is a great start off guide and the results have been delicious. The maker is easy to use and if you keep the bowl in the freezer then you are only a few minutes away from producing your own icy creations. I would highly recomend this product to anyone who enjoys making their own puddings and deserts as it is fun, versatile and a great hit with the family.

First off. Don't be like me and skip a few hours off the initial freezing time (I'd bought all the stuff to make ice-cream and was excited!) - The results were disappointing. It makes lovely rich, thick ice cream (proper ice-cream if you know what I mean). It does come out sort of soft, but still scoopable, but I like to put it in the freezer to harden. It makes a good amount of ice-cream.It's a tiny bit noisy, but doesn't bother me.It's worth the money.

The Magimix does exactly what it says it does. It makes about a litre of ice cream in about 20 mins providing you have followed the instructions and kept it in the freezer overnight. The recipes are relatively simple and I tried four of them and have absolutely no complaints. However if you intend to make ice cream regularly you really should get a model which does not require freezing before the job starts as you always need some hours preparation.

Great Product that I purchased recently. Ice cream maker comes with loads of different recipes which is great when you need to think of something quick for desserts. Does exactly what it says on the label. The time it takes to make the icecream is less than what it says on the box! Would definitely recommend this product. Used this for a dinner party of 8. If you are looking for a good but basic ice cream maker, this is the one to get!

Best to keep the bowl in the freezer when not in use. It's always ready then for your next batch of ice cream. Very easy to clean. Absolutely delicious ice cream . The recipes supplied with the machine are spot on but the best ones I've found are in Ben& Jerrys recipe book. But don't overfill. And be exact with your measurments although I use a little less sugar. I havn't stopped using it yet!! Brilliant. Wish I'd bought one years ago!
