I bought this for Easter for my 6 year old son who has been struggling with telling the time. He was delighted to get a real alarm clock, and I was pleased with my decision to buy a grown-up looking functional clock, rather than one of the more childish designs out there. It is battery powered. It has several major advantages over various others I considered:-Clear large numbers, with 'TO' and 'PAST' shown in the centre of the face, and 5, 10, 1/4, 20, 25 and 1/2 markings.-Easy to use alarm clock function.-Glow in the dark numbers, and illuminated face (pressing the top button)-Smooth action second hand (so no loud ticking!)-Keeps time perfectly to date (unlike some other 'teaching'clocks I have seen)The only (possible) disadvantage is that it does not teach conversion to a digital time format IE doesn't have 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 number markings. This isn't a problem for us, but there are teaching clocks out there which have a digital display as well, to teach both at the same time.Highly recommended for any child; suitable from around age 3, as it is fairly robust, but also perfectly acceptable into teens and beyond, as a perfectly good, and smart-looking clock which is not overtly childish.Oh, and my 6-year old (for whom we also bought a wristwatch at the same time) is now telling the time immediately and accurately every time!

Bought this for a 4 year old who refused to remain in bed until the morning. Often waking up at 5am!Since using this alarm clock and explaining to him not to get out of bed before it goes off, it seems to have had the desired effect. He is now showing interest in reading the time and the clock itself is clearly marked which helps. The only minor negative is that the alarm on/off switch is at the back of the alarm clock. Snooze and light button are integrated into one large red button on top. It would have been nice to have a separate light switch/button and as the alarm is not turned off by the snooze button, we have to switch the alarm into the off position as our child often forgets to do that.If that alarm switch was in a more prominent position - it may have helped the youngster remember. These are fairly minor points and the alarm clock is fulfilling the purpose for which we bought it.

A perfect bedside clock for a child who is learning (or has recently learnt) to tell time. Looks entirely in place in our boys room. The display is very clear and easy to read, with the high contrast colours making it simple to distinguish and learn "past" and "to" and the large numbers and hands making hours and minutes reading early. The hands and numbers are "glow in the dark" but aren't particularly bright. This may be a good or bad thing, depending or your perspective. The light works well and makes it readable at night without problem. The alarm is a simple "beep beep", which isn't very loud. It has been slept through once, and has worked every other time. The clock appears to keep generally good time - over a period of a month there was no significant loss or gain (<1 minute).

This clock is an excellent tool for teaching children to tell the time. I have to clarify that though earlier versions may have been noisy (I have experienced electric clocks that inexplicably have a second hand that has a loud tick - why would you do that in an electric clock?), the latest version is absolutely silent in operation. And having a sweep second hand also teaches what "clockwise" means. The only reservation I would have is that the black hands are quite difficult to see from a couple of metres away against the dark blue half of the face. But as a bedside clock it's absolutely brilliant.

Great! Except when he wakes up at 5am and repeatedly repeats 5, 10, 15 20 .... 55 60 over and over again (reading the clock face!) I like that aspect though - they need to actually learn parrot fashion the five minute thing, as they can't grasp the concept on its own - it is more memorising type learning than working out type learning I reckon. It's not much use for an alarm or as a clock as he delights in changing the hands, setting the alarm for ridiculous times of day and then (thankfully) forgetting to turn it on! But great for time teaching and he loves having his own little bedside clock.

Has survived a few bashes and bumps, light is ok. It's too easy for the little ones to change the time which is a nuisance and the alarm hand won't go under the other hands so if its on 6 and you're setting for 7 and it's half past 6 you have to move the alarm hand all the way back anti clockwise to the 7 if that makes sense instead of clockwise one number.

I am pleasantly surprised with this clock. It’s not huge and fairly light but the face is clear and I think will really help my 6 year old to tell the time. He is so happy with it and loves the little light. Best of all, it is pretty much SILENT! I was happy with the price compared to similar clocks

My 6 year old son has this in his room on his bedside table. It is quiet and has nice clear numerals which he can see clearly in the dark using the light up button. We don't use the alarm setting at the moment.

it was for my 5 year old son to try to start telling the time, he doesn't really use it for this but it is a good quality product and wil hopefully last a few years until he does start using it properly!

This clock was bought to help my six year old grandson learn how to tell the time. He now loves being asked what the time is because he can work it out himself using the words and colours on the clock.

Great clock its about as big as your hand, it helps with teaching the time and wakes up the kids for school and has a light to push to see the hour at night.

A fantastic learning clock for young children helping them to tell the time. The only criticism is it should be a little larger.
