You know, there are times when one reads a review and there is an amount of justified dissension, and then there are times when you read a review of something you own and it seems like an entirely different product. Point in case: Logitech speakers. To put it in simple terms these are NOT a pair of B&W Nautilus... they are a £10 pair of plastic speakers for a computer - so audiophiles back up and take leave of your self for a moment. If you are still reading please thing for a moment about what I have just said and then let's look at the product within those parameters. What you are geting for your tenner is in-fact remarkable; a sonic miracle no less.Image a few decades back being able to plug a SMALL pair of active speakers into your computer and get very good quality stereo - impossible! It would have required a whole setup and then some big boxes rigged to the wall and still you wouldn't have gotten much better than these - certainly not pound-for-pound. And believe me, when I say that, as I have always owned quality separates so I think I know what I am talking about here. These handle everything from Underworld through Chet Baker and Goldie to the outer realms of Dub, and yet these are nothing like a Bose Bass Canon... because they are not designed to be, but what they are and what they do is reproduce sound in a balanced way, with an excellent midrange, and, high-end, and a reasonable bass that obviously lacks punch. If you want thumping bass, again, you're reading the wrong review - drop the cash on the Bose Bass Canon, and if you want output buy the B&W Nautilus or a pair of room-sized speakers. But if you want perfectly acceptable stereo that will carry anything you care to run through them these can't be beaten.I play them on a MacBook Air and I set the volume on the computer at full and the volume on the speaker at half (straight up). I also set the equaliser on iTunes to `small speakers.' If you follow that I can bet you your tenner you won't be disappointed.

Acting on the previous feedbacks I ordered these external speakers to fit to our flatscreen Hitachi tv which was always appallingly tinny and boomy with its sound, to the extent we were considering buying a different brand of tv, it literally took seconds to install the earphone jack and USB plug, then go into the Audio setup on the tv menu and crank up the earphone volume setting, what suprised me was the tone soundbars & pre select styles of output ie speech, cinema, user, etc were all over ridden by insertion of the earphone jack, but not to worry, the sound from these speakers is beautiful to hear, like listening to the old cathode ray sets in the wooden cabinets, all the sound is so clear now we can actually turn down the volume, either using the Virgin V+ box handset or the knob on the speakers.I will soon be looking for a tv for the front room, when I do I will also get another set of these speakers for that too they are so good, plus they dont require a seperate power supply. Any critisism of them having too short wires is easily cured by splicing in an extra length of wire to get the speakers further apart. They are the bees kneesJust been out to purchase my new Hitachi tv for the front room, at the same time bought another set of these speakers, as my tv was the same brand I already knew the audio would benefit enhancement and I was not disapointed, used the tv's speakers for only one minute then plugged these speakers in, much better !!!!2014 update; the power requirements for the speakers is more than the TVs USB socket can handle long term, after both TV sets stopped powering the speakers I invested in proper power supplies, see later reviews, problem cured.

I was looking for second hand PC speakers but when I saw the reviews and price of these, I thought I'd go for new instead.I bought these for a second PC we have and they're great! I like my music and like to think I can tell poor quality audio when I hear it and, for the price, these deliver in spades. Bass is quite light, as you'd expect for USB-powered speakers without a subwoofer, but not missing altogether. The most impressive thing about these is the clarity of the midrange and high frequency - dialogue is very clear. They're not loud - you wouldn't use them to get a party pumping. I bought them primarily for use with Skype and they're perfect for this. They are powered through the USBport on the PC - so you'll need a spare one of these - and then they plug in to any standard 3.5mm jack. You could use these as "travel speakers" if you had a USB port handy. I'm listening to them right now powered from a portable external battery with a USB port and plugged into my HTC Desire S.They're very rugged too. The white plastic is very solid - I'd be quite happy throwing them in a bag. They don't come with covers for the drivers but this isn't too big of a problem. My 5-year old daughter has already stuck her thumb into them without any negative impact on the sound. Each speaker rests on a circular foam base. The maximum length of the cable between the two speakers is about 70cm and the length of the cables (both USB and audio) coming from the right speaker is about 110cm.All in all, a very good buy unless you want something for a bass-heavy house party!

I bought these speakers as my PC monitor does not have built in speakers, and I needed something little to watch my uni lectures, and play a bit of music. These are lovely little speakers, they’re very pleasing to look at and not too big. There’s a headphone jack to transport the noise as well as a USB for power. The wires are white, which I was a little annoyed at because everything else I have is black but not a big deal. The sound quality is excellent; however, I haven’t used them at a high volume, just some chilled hip hop beats for background noise as I’m working on uni assignments - I also have a young child I don’t want to wake up whilst working so my volume is kept low. However,I didn’t notice any crackling or unwanted fuzz, I was playing music from YouTube.I wanted mine small as I don’t have a lot of space and these ones are very cute and just the right size for me (amazon won’t let me upload a pic for some reason). For the price I cannot complain at all and overall I’m very pleased with them, for anyone considering these speakers I can only assume they’re not wanting them for an extremely high quality surround sound experience. If you are, probs need to up your price range. But for all the people that just want speakers that do the job, these will do just that! There’s no on/off button, the dial just spins from, all the way to the left is “off”. You can only control the volume on 1 of the speakers that does them both. And they can’t be separated as wires are joined together.5 stars. Would definitely recommend and buy again. ???

Bought them expecting something louder than laptop speakers but not capable of good music/video sound output. i was wrong. granted, they're not as good as speakers you'll pay £60 for, but for anyone wanting louder volume and speakers that can be taken around easily with your laptop, and easily put away, these are a great buy. I'm a uni student, and these do the job of filling a room in halls (and half the floor) with music, as well as any living room for pre-drinks/house parties. at a high volume, it's still very audible from 15 feet away, and within 10 feet it's loud enough to make your average volume conversation a bit difficult. The sound from these carries, which is great, makes it feel good quality, and not tinny. The bass, vocals, drums and instrumental are all clear,as is dubstep, classical and other genres.Although 100% volume on the speakers, laptop and youtube video/song in itunes/ tv programme will result in a slight decline in quality, it's common with most speakers under £100.Another good thing, some speakers with bass heavy songs give out a thumping sound, these don't, the balance is good. With slightly better technology these could be on a par with Bose, and that's not an exaggeration. The only buzzing sound i've heard is the facebook notification noise, but this is high pitched.I've had them for over 8 months and no problems at all, and friends have said how good these are, and that's before I told them the great price!!!highly recommended

I'm startled at how good the sound is from these little speakers! Forget the price, the sound is actually very good! I'm sitting here listening to Abbey Road and George's guitar on Something is coming at me from the middle space between the speakers, while Ringo's drums and George's vocals are at left and right. In other words, there's good stereo separation but with a middle stage very much there too. They're plenty loud enough for listening to music at a desk while working, the bass isn't too overpowering (a problem I've had with dearer media speakers) and the other frequencies are all good. I'm using iTunes with some tweaks on the Equalizer, but normally no amount of fiddling with the sliders will rescue the sound from speakers with a thumping bass response. Now the downside and the reason for docking a star is that the cable between the speakers is only just enough to get them either side of a monitor. I think it's about a metre long, and it could do with a fair bit more. It's working fine for my set-up though. The USB power is fine. It saves a wall plug, but obviously at the expense of a USB port so you decide which you'd rather sacrifice (or spend more on battery-powered speakers).Ok, I have to go now. The Beatles are about to go into the bit of I Want You (She's So Heavy) where I'm meant to spark up a massive dooby, lie back and let the universe turn my consciousness inside out. See you on the other side...

I purchased a monitor without speakers and I have no regrets now because these little speakers for £15 are better than most speakers that come built into small thin monitors. There isn't a huge amount of bass but that isnt always a bad thing, I rarely listen to music when sat at the PC. The main thing for me is that they are perfectly clear with enough volume for light gaming or watching some YouTube videos. It's a little frustrating that the wire between the 2 speakers are pre-wired without plugs as over time this wire can get tangled in things. I would have also liked another 30cm or so of cable between the 2 speakers but there was just enough for them to sit either side of my 32 inch monitor which I can live with. However, If the cable was longer I could have hidden it being the desk better. There are a lot of people saying that they get interference noise when they power the speakers from their PC. I noticed the same thing when I used the headphone socket of my monitor. However, when I plugged the USB and 3.5mm audio jack both into the PC, the interference was completely gone. I have left the speakers on full volume and I just adjust the volume using buttons on my keyboard. This is the best setup for me because the speakers will now power down when the PC is shut down.I would have given these 5 stars if you could unplug the speakers from each other and the cable between them was longer.

Bought these speakers a few months ago now. Trialed them as desktop speakers for gaming, movie streaming and listening to music. They are seriously good. They are very small speakers which punch well above their weight. Even if you max them out, playing the heaviest music possible, these won't shudder or distort. A very good deal for the price, you won't find much better performing and nicer looking speakers for £11. Also the cable tidying setup around the back is very useful and nicely put together. The casing too feels nice, thick and durable; probably a high quality High Impact PolystyreneAlso I have taken them apart (I am using the speaker component for a project); of course once you remove the case the sound is allowed to spread out more and sounds tinny,so the case does do a lot for the sound itself, which is a testament to Logitech's design. The speaker cone is only 52mm diameter, on a square mounted bracket 65mm wide. They are very tall though, and have a whopping great magnet on the back of the speaker, so there is a lot of bulk for transmission of sound. For those not wishing to hack the speaker to pieces though, which I gather is most of you, they are a very neat little set of speakers which will do you very well for the money. In short... GET THEM!

I bought a second pair of these for use with a new style (Type E) Xbox 360 which has a 3.5mm audio output jack and USB port for power on the back. They work fine and are loud enough, and are much better than the monitor's built-in speakers which I had been using. The first pair got purloined for an LCD TV - connected to the headphone socket and USB socket (which most recent TVs have). They pick up a whine from the TV if you set the volume knob high (probably the TV's fault) so it is set quite low and the TV's own volume setting set higher. Even though a headphone jack is not the ideal output, this arrangement sounds vastly better that the TV's own built-in tinny speakers.I tested them on my PCusing the same arrangement - they are much better than the laptop's built-in speakers though not as good as mains-powered speakers with a sub (which is to be expected). With the PC at 100% audio, the speakers are at full usable output at about 1/3 of their volume setting - above which they start to distort badly. Also, they are not a patch on the SoundScience QSB speakers (which are USB-powered, use digital USB audio - no 3.5mm jack - and louder / better sound). The QSBs don't have an external volume control though.

Bought these speakers on the strength of previous reviews and they didn't disappoint!Have been burned by some pretty woeful PC speakers in the past which had poor tinny sound, so was a little apprehensive ordering these, especially considering how small they are.Needn't have worried though. For their size the sound is rich and full and even have a surprising amount of base to them. Watched some YouTube videos to test them out and was genuinely impressed by the clarity and quality of the sound.Have these set just behind the monitor of a new budget gaming rig I out together and they do their job admirably. They're small and inconspicuous and yet provide more than ample sound for the games being played.Setup couldn't be easier, they come with a 3mm jack and a USB cable. Simply plug the jack into the sound out port on your PC/Laptop and the USB cable into any free USB port which provides power and away you go. No need for a separate power supply (awesome).Would definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking for small unobtrusive speakers for their PC/Laptop. They're a breeze to set up, don't take up much room and sound fantastic. 5 stars!

I was just looking for a simple but decent enough quality pair of speakers to connect to my PC and settled on these. I'm quite happy with the choice. They sound crisp and clear and were very easy to set up. There is a useful volume control on one of the speakers iteslf so it's very easy to quicky adjust the level while sat at the computer without having to click the volume control on the PC and move the slider. The speakers have a hollow recess at the rear to tuck away excess cabling, which is neat, although the cable connecting the left and right speaker might be a little short, depending on how far you would want to place them apart. The speakers plug directly into the sound card at the back of the computer via a 3.5mm jack and there is a separate USB connection to provide the power, which I understand is a better arrangement than a USB-only connection. I'm not judging these from the point of view of a serious piece of audio equipment - they just do a decent job of providing sound for my PC at a reasonable price, and in that context can easily be recommended.**UPDATE 1st MARCH 2020**seven and a half years later and these are still working fine.

I needed to replace some speakers that cost about the same, well maybe a few quid less, I think they were six or seven quid. I had them for a couple of years, I didn't use them much as they picked up so much squelchy feedback from my PC, every time I moved my mouse or did anything it picked up a strange sound. Then a couple of weeks back they just stopped working, so I ditched them and bought these Logitech ones, and I'm amazed by the quality!I've bought quite a few sets of cheap speakers over the years, there's no need for me to have pricey speakers as I only use them for the odd YouTube vid ect, and I've never had a tenner set of speakers this good! They sound like the £50 quid speakers I had when I was younger and in to gaming, they're really loud for inexpensive speakers, and the sound quality is brilliant.I'm sure you can't compare them with Bose or whatever, but if you want to spend a hundred quid on speakers why are you looking at these? If it's cheaper speakers you're looking for, I honestly don't believe you will get better than these at this price. And they don't pick up the interference either!

I bought these speakers expecting them to be pretty poor sounding but better than the in-built speakers of my monitor. I am amazed at how good these sound. Taking into account the shipping and packaging cost they can't even be £5 per speaker and yet they sound like they cost four or five times that.I have a HiFi system where the speakers alone are approaching one thousand pounds and of course these speakers don't even compare to that but considering the price of these you can't go wrong. Do be aware though that they are powered from a USB port on the computer and if you have an old/cheap laptop the power available from the USB port may not be adequate to do the speakers justice. The volume control is excellent with no crackling as the knob is rotated even after a few years use.I like the fact that there is no gimmicky Graphic Equalizer and so forth, instead all the money has gone into the speakers themselves and it is amazing how much has been achieved with that little amount of money.I am just about to buy a third pair for a third computer. The original two pairs are still going strong.

Okay - delivery rapid thanks to prime. Nicely boxed and presented.Easy to connect up. All wires are fixed to the units. Quite long enough for my desktop setup with computer on the floor. I wanted to use these speakers as sound for in the bedroom, though, but the wire between speakers was not long enough to go across a double bed. I've used them for the PC instead.Sound quality is quite acceptable. Treble is crisp and clean, good for speech etc, but the bass isn’t strong, as might be expected, so I wouldn't use these for seriously listening to music, but then that is not what they are for, is it?Overall, good value at the price, and nice unobtrusive speakers for a PC setup.Update: I have increased the length of the wire between the speakers by the use of two connector blocks and 2 metres of light duty wire. Now the speakers sit on the bedside tables at the sides of our bed and we listen to audio books, radio plays and such programmes perfectly well. The sound on these things is excellent considering their small size, so I have increased my rating to 5 stars.

I have just received them and I love them!!! ??????? they are perfect little speakers and they do the jib I got them for! I had a bluetooth speaker which I found annoying because it always went off when I needed it, so I decided to get something to plug and play and with a jack! So, these beauties got my attention and also I already have a more expensive set back home and a woofer, so these are perfect! For a small room it will be a continuous party for me?? Thank you Logitech and thank you Amazon for on time delivery!!! Highly recommended if you want something sweet and fine for a little room, but if you want something strong, do buy a bigger set.Dubstep is not distortioned too much, the bass is there, but not too loud, but for what I need they are perfect! Again, if you want loud for a neighbourhood party, get bigger ones?I highly recommend them for people who enjoy the finer soothing things and sounds. Otherwise you might say these are not good enough. If this was helpful, please click on bellow and thank you for reading all of this! Stay safe and healthy!
