This G403 Hero is a slight upgrade on the G403. I'm coming at it from the point of a PC gamer but having not previously used the original G403.Features:----------The 16k sensor is pretty standard across good gaming mice, but it basically means it responds instantaneously to your hand movement - what you see and react to, it acts accordingly, with no lag or changes. From experience of using the mouse, this is true. It's very on point with reaction.Ergonomic design - it fits your palm as it should, based on the resting 'claw' shape your hand makes when relaxed. I would say it's been designed on a male hand, as gaming mouses traditionally are a little bigger than standard computer mice, and this is no exception.Materials - a matte black plastic, that does well to repel grime and sweat and all the other nasties. It's got rubber sides for grip, these are definitely useful. You can add more weight to the mouse by removing the bottom weight and adding it in - they hold in via a magnet. It's an easy and efficient way of getting the weight right.Like all good gaming hardware it lights up, the red lighting shows on the scroll wheel and the G logo.In terms of design, it's really upped it's game compared to other gaming mice. They can look very 'gamey' if we take the likes of Razer or even previous Logitech mice. At least this one could be used in an office and it would blend well, and the RGB colours aren't tacky LED fixed colours but nice and smooth and flowing, it's the kind of lighting that looks like the money paid for it.Braided cable, nice and long, very flexible and doesn't get in the way. You can however notice it's there; might be an issue. Wired mice generally have no problem matching the speed of a game and of course almost never experience dropout, but you have the payoff that it can get in the way and it's not as smooth use as a really good wireless one.Customisation----------------Comes with G Hub, which is a really simple and versatile software for customising the buttons, never any problems with it and it's just fluid and works, like all software should be.-----------For those that are completely new to gaming mice - you have to see them a bit like console controllers. Those have been designed so much to a point that makes them completely appropriate, efficient, and comfortable for gaming. One of the benefits of PC gaming is that you can customise your setup way past this to your own desires, but also that the reason for all these jazzy extras like ergonomic shapes and button placements is that gaming requires them, equally if not more so on PC than on consoles. It might feel strange on that first switch from a standard computer mouse to an ergonomic one, but it's like using the wonky xbox controller over the symmetrical PS4 one - your hand just gets used to it and you realise why and how it's designed that way. (Mostly because you don't get cramp as quick.)Overall--------I really rate it. It's coming in at a good price point, around average for other models of a similar spec, and the Logitech G Hub does really sell it for me, as it's guaranteed to work with other peripherals, and other Logitech peripherals so far have been great too. You can really have it be part of a customised, built set of hardware and it all works efficiently.

A good quality gaming mouse is my preferred input device even when not gaming because I appreciate the responsiveness and accuracy a good one can offer, especially for things like graphics and 3D app’s. This G403 Hero from Logitech is an excellent base-level gaming mouse that delivers that accuracy and speed but lacks the bells and whistles of the higher end models. If you want a quality mouse for occasional gaming and full-time precision then it’s a great choice, but it is a bit pricey given the simple design. Of course you get a very accurate sensor, basically the same one used in the high-end Logitech mice but at a much lower price. What you lose is a full compliment of programmable buttons,a left-handed option, a wireless option and the best build quality. This mouse is nicely made and finished but it does feel a bit hollow and plastic-y compared to the top models. On the other hand you get a couple of internal LED’s you can play with, one in the mouse-wheel and one in the main body, and a range of lighting effects you can assign to them. It’s not quite on the level of customisation that, for example, Razer devices offer but these fancy lighting effects make your computer do extra work and slow it down when you might prefer to save your processor cycles for the actual game you’re playing. There’s also a cavity in the base of the mouse you can add a counterweight to if you prefer a weightier feel, you only get one weight so it’s a bit limited but one is better than none. The other difference with this G403 compared to my other (much more expensive) Logitech gaming mouse is that you have to instal the new Logitech Hub app and driver to make full use of it because it isn’t recognised by the old Logitech Gaming app. This new app is fine, although it feels like it’s an early version that isn’t quite finessed yet, and offers the configuration options you’d want - you can assign commands or macros (including your own custom macros) to the keys and set the lighting effects you’d like. Again it feels like Logitech are trying to catch up with some of the style and configuration options offered by Razer, the app has a very similar look and feel, but that’s no bad thing and it’s a step in a good direction.Overall this is an excellent general-use mouse and if you don’t need a fistful of programmable buttons or (perhaps) gimmicky LED lightshows then it delivers. For use with graphics and creative app’s it’s excellent and feels very accurate and speedy, although I’d personally still appreciate a few more programmable buttons to speed up recurring tasks. Compared to the high-end gaming mice it’s reasonably priced for the same accuracy but as a quality general-use mouse it’s slightly pricey, at least at full retail price, but does deliver quality.

When it comes to gaming mice, what is important? Surely ergonomics is up there as a main concern - and this Logitech G403 seems very good to me - it's very much a right-handed mouse, curving very slightly to the left and with a pair of thumb buttons, although a left-handed user would still be able to struggle along with it. It's certainly not a huge mouse but it is satisfyingly large in your hand.Being wired and therefore not containing any batteries this is a nice and light mouse - my digital scales say 87 grams, not including the cable, which tallies with what Logitech say. There is an additional 10 gram metal weight supplied in the box which can be inserted into a little enclosure on the underside that is accessed by tilting the plastic lid which is held on with a pair of magnets.Like a lot of people I suspect I spent longer than necessary trying to unscrew this circular cover before realising that the little dimple at one end was there to indicate pushing inward, not spinning. But I don't want to add weight to my mouse anyway, having suffered an annoying wrist injury many years ago from using a heavy mouse. For me, light weight is an absolute must. There are three additional assignable buttons on the G403 - the two thumb buttons and a DPI button on top. I suffer the usual problem of my mouse cursor getting stuck on the edge of one of my two monitors if I drag too quickly from one window to another - an issue I've experienced with all mice that have a DPI button. This is just a mild irritation. The Logitech software that you have to download seems like it will be very exciting until you live with it for a while, after which I found myself wondering if being able to select from numerous LED light effects on the mouse was really at the top of my list of priorities. No doubt the gaming features will ultimately be more important than the light show.My only issue with the G403 is the cost - at nigh on sixty quid there are an awful lot of lesser-known brands that will supply you with a gaming mouse that is largely indistinguishable for a lot less money. Indeed there are some well known gaming brands who will supply you with a largely similar mouse - maybe Logitech's Hero 16K sensor will swing the balance for you, but I wasn't really able to detect a significant difference.

TLDR: This is a reliable, smooth tracking mouse with just enough extras to justify its price.Design and build quality: ?======================The mouse is made of a satin finish plastic that sits somewhere between matte and glossy in how it feels. It isn't rough, but it isn't slippery either. Nor does it attract finger prints in the same way as other shinier mice I've used. The body is substantial enough to be palmed, yet its also light enough to be moved around in a claw grip. This should keep everyone except for left handed users happy, since the body is curved for right handed use.The configurable RGB lighting is fairly tame compared to many other mice in this price range. Personally,I think it looks quite tasteful, with only the logo and a strip of colour on the mousewheel lighting up. You can see the transitioning of the colours in the video attached to this review. The optional weight of 10g on the bottom of the mouse doesn't make much difference to me, but it might if you're a more finely tuned gamer than I.Buttons and feel: ?================Each button has a clear actuation point with an audible click. The scrollwheel is smooth, although you can still feel the increments as you roll it. The side buttons are big and it's obvious which one you're about to press. Personally, I like buttons on both sides of a mouse, but it's quite rare to find on non-ambidextrous mice like this. The tracking feels great on every surface I've used it on, including a wooden table. I can't blame the mouse for my inability to aim in first person shooters. For productivity uses, it's also great: I use it for design and development, and mapping the buttons to copy and paste has saved me quite a bit of effort.Software:========The mouse will work with its basic functionality out of the box, but you'll need to install Logitech's software to make the mouse of the configurable buttons and RGB. I found the software quite easy to use, although I resent any gaming software's size and burden on my computer's resources... It's almost as if Logitech, Razer etc want to encourage users to only buy their products...who would have thought.Overall, this is a well made mouse which nails its main requirement for smooth tracking and good button feel.

The Logitech G403 HERO 16K Gaming Mouse really doesn't have any flaws. For me, the three most important aspects of a mouse are ergonomics, intuitive positioning of buttons, and responsiveness. Those are the cornerstones of a good product, especially when it comes to gaming. This is a right-handed mouse. It sits perfectly in my hand and the buttons are just where I want them to be - hugely important in gaming, where spending even a hundredth of a second fumbling for a side button that isn't right at your fingertips can result in you being blown to smithereens. As with most gaming mice and keyboards now, the G403 HERO 16K has its own LED lightshow capabilities, which are impressive to behold but not necessary in any practical sense. Aesthetic eye candy and nothing more. But why not? With 16.8 million colours, programmable light displays and the ability to alter shades chameleon-like according to gameplay, you're getting quite a lot for your money. I'd have added an extra couple of buttons to the right side of the mouse, as these would come in handy for first-person shooters. But that's a minor point. If you're going to buy a Logitech gaming mouse exclusively for FPS games and you like more than the 5 buttons and a mouse wheel which the G403 HERO has, there are others in the Logitech range with 10 buttons plus a mouse wheel. For any type of gamer, then, there's a Logitech mouse that'll suit their needs.

I have used this mouse for around 3 years now (pretty much daily) so I can probably tell you the life cycle of it.When I first used the mouse I could already feel how good the quality was. The materials felt comfortable and has a good grip so your hand wont slip off of the mouse. The cable is braided and hasn't really worn down after 3 years ( I would personally recommend any random mouse bungee as the cable has a little weight to it).Sensor has never failed me nor has it ever "spun out".However, there is infact a fair few things that you need to consider when thinking of buying this mouse.Firstly, the mouse gets seriously and easily dirty.Cleaning it is pretty much difficult to do as you would have to take it apart to get into the edges of the mouse. This also includes the scroll wheel and side buttons , I try to clean it but its very difficult to get into the ridges of it. I also have clean hands when I use the mouse so its just general build up over months of use until you start to notice it.Secondly, out of the package, the mouse wheel was rattling and this would cause the mouse to make unnecesarry noise but it doesn't affect performance.Lastly, the rubber grip where your thumb would be placed would slowly deteriorate after time and feels quite uncomfortable. If you want a long term mouse its best to go and buy more "premium" devices.

This is a mouse aimed at PC gamers. This is reflected in its much higher sensitivity and update rate, which means that in theory mouse movements will be detected a few hundredths of a second quicker than with a standard desktop mouse. This is really only of use to someone playing games - if all you use your computer for is standard desktop apps, it's not worth paying for - if you are a dedicated gamer, it may make a difference. The mouse itself is nicely made - the braided cable is ultra-flexible and should be durable, and there is an optional removable 10 gramme weight that can be placed inside a magnetic compartment in the base of the mouse to increase its weight and hence how hard you have to push it.The buttons and wheel have a nice action, and there is one of the obligatory colour-changing lights behind the "G" logo on the top plate. If you're a dedicated gamer, this is a reasonably-priced gaming mouse from a good brand that feels well-built - if you're a gamer, this gets a recommendation. Mere mortals who use their PCs for something more sensible should save their money and buy something cheaper!

Love this mouse! I've always been a fan of Logitech's gear and this one doesn't disappoint either.First things first - its a corded mouse - the cord is plenty long enough to hide away on your desk if you feel the need. It comes with an extra weight you can install to personal preference. I like a weighty mouse so I popped it in straight away. Its still fairly light though and I feel like it could have done with a bit more in the weight department.Build wise it feels solid - nice rubbery feel to the sides and "traditional" plastic top - means it sits in your hand nicely. Tracks very well and can be as sensitive as you need it to be as this can be adjusted with the Logitech software. As can the RGB lighting built in. Its a nice feature but not really all that essential - but I guess if you are into your fancy colours for your PC then its a must have! Its a pricey mouse at £59.99 at the time of writing so if you just want a mouse this is probably over priced but if you want a good quality, well made, smooth mouse you can do a lot worse at that price point!

Logitech are considered a market leader in gaming PC peripherals, and have equipment at all pricing levels all of a very good standard. For a gaming mouse this is no entry level piece of kit. The mouse has the regular left and right and a scrolling wheel. There is also a button just above the wheel. There is a further 2 buttons on the left side of the mouse, right handed users will find these ideal thumb buttons, lefty's not so much and I fall into the later and have to make do with trying to user my other fingers, somewhat awkwardly I might add. However, once programmed into your favourite games, the mouse does add to the gaming experience. The mouse is very smooth and accurate and using the extra buttons to quickly fire off grenades, secondary weapons or whatever else you have them keyed into. The mouse also change colour on the Logitech icon, this colour matches the scroll wheel and looks cool. The mouse also has a 10g weight with it but I haven't figured out what this is for yet but all in all a top notch product.

This Logitech G403 HERO 16K Gaming Mouse wired mouse is responsive and accurate and will be useful to much more than gamers. One thing I have found it especially useful for is in a work environment when moving speedily from cell to cell in a big spreadsheet. The accuracy is quite amazing. The mouse has a nice hand feel and unlike my previous mouse, which was wireless, there is no discernible lag. Also, the Logitech mouse seems to work well on all surfaces that I have tried. There is a 10-gram weight included in the package which really does make the mouse feel more solid in the hand. It simply fits behind a magnetic cover. From the Logitech website utilities can be down loaded to customise the mouse to most individual requirements.Although the firmware updater software does not seem to register that the mouse is actually connected. I even tried disconnecting the mouse then running the updater before reconnecting the mouse. No big deal for me as the mouse is working well without any updates needed.

This is an aesthetically pleasing mouse. The company branding is an LED which softly changes colour over time; this matches my keyboard, so pretty pleased with that.I have used the optional 10g weight for added ease of use. I find without it the mouse is too lightweight and the movements not accurate. I also find the native pointer speed slow and upped the DPI on that. The button sensitivity is fine for work and gaming, and for RPG and FPS it's a good mouse. My main problem is use over time. The mouse shape is quite flat compared to what I'm used to, so my hand is in a flatter curvature than I'd like. This has caused some discomfort after long work or gaming sessions. I don't suffer from carpal or ulner issues, but do like the use of roller and full ergonomic mice; if you've used these with any frequency in the past I suggest you might have issues with this mouse longer term. That very specific issue aside, it's a great device.

Logitech G403 Hero 16K Gaming Mouse. This is a decent mouse with much of the innards of the G502 Hero which I have. It has fewer buttons and thus fewer prgrammable buttons. It, like the rest of these various Logi mice, uses the G HUB for setting and controlling it. The GHUB allows a dpi of between 400 and 3200 (adjustable as you play) and an adjustable polling rate of up to 1000. You can assign various controls to the buttons and macros are possible. In use it's easy to use and responsive. It has RGB lighting for the darkness. You just have to figure out what controls suit your gaming experience.Works well overall. For surfing to lacks the 'infinite scrollable'wheel of the G502 and has fewer buttons to program but then you pay more for it. Looks like a standard mouse and is fine for surfing with forward and back side buttons. Bit expensive me thinks.

Practical design - not as ergonomically pleasing as Razer - but has a nice simple clear markings which distinguish individual keys. The RGB lighting is slightly unnecessary - however it is now common-place in gaming-marketed equipment. Likemost other gaming mice the LEDs are only in the logo and the the scroll wheel of the mouse. In order to adjust RGB configuration you have to download an OS that's easily found on their website if you type in the name of the mouse. The program is easy to install and instantly recognises any hardware attached to the system. You can go through various pre-built effects for the mouse - such as audio syncing, colour cycling etc.The sensor at the bottom is very precise and feels comfortable to work with. However adjusting mouse sensitivity is somewhat clunky. You can easily go up two notches rather than one notch.

Now somethings get more use than others in our household and this mouse is one of those items. We all tend to use it when using the office computer. From gaming to doing serious stuff, school stuff, finance you name it this device is so useful and being ergonomic no sore achey hands. Good job with amount of time son games using it at times.A brand that’s been around for a long time Logitech and quality of build always seems to be spot on. This mouse is a wired one not an issue but some might prefer a non mains one. The lights on it are one if the favourite parts that son thinks makes it stand out from other budget priced ones and for that reason alone he likes it.Means even with lower level lighting he can still game with the added dramatic effects of the backlit keys. Sometimes it’s the small things that count.

I’ve been using gaming mice for a number of years now and have found Logitech to be the most consistent in terms of quality and performance. This G403 Hero is designed for gaming and being wired is very quick and sensitive. The gimmicky lighting effects don’t really appeal to me but are a nice personalisation option. The option to programme the buttons are much more appealing (and useful!) and allow you to migrate your own preferences quickly and easily. There is an extra weight available which when used makes it handle better in my opinion. Without the additional weight I found it a little too light. This price-point gives you the quality rubbery finish – much softer than a standard plastic shell and gives more grip over long periods of time.Great choice for casual and serious gamers alike.
