OK I bought one for myself in a shop and loved it so much I bought one online for my mum and sister. I wasn't sure I could justify the price initially, but it's totally worth it (popcorn is my go-to snack!).Pros:SO easy to use. Just pour in the popcorn, pop the lid on lightly and then in the microwave for 3 minutes. I usually pour in a tiny bit of coconut or olive oil, or a vegan butter with the kernels so that the seasoning sticks (usually just a bit of salt).Less washing up to do - as you eat from the same bowl you cooked the popcorn in, you don't have pans and bowls you need to wash afterwards.Less packaging to waste - no more paper and cardboard waste from microwave popcorn!Healthier - you know what you're putting in,none of this chemical stuff that they put in packets of microwave popcorn, and you can add healthy oils to get a good bit of essential fat into your diet, but if you want to keep the calories low, they pop nicely with just the steam.Beautiful, fluffy popcorn. I always struggled to get the same kind of popcorn when making it in the pan, so this is ideal. Super tasty and light. If there are some kernels leftover that didn't pop, you can usually pop them successfully the second time round - no more waste!Folds away neatly and takes up less room in the kitchen.Cons:Because it folds away, it's a bit flimsy and washing it is a bit annoying - but you get used to it and find a way around it. I usually fold it down and wash it that way, as it's sturdier, or I kind of turn it on its side and rotate it as I wash.

This is incredible! Ordered yesterday and received today (so also very impressed with Amazon delivery) and I've just made the best popcorn I've ever made!I used to make popcorn on the stovetop but I could never make a consistently good batch - sometimes it tasted burnt as it was difficult to get all the kernels to pop and quite often it would be quite greasy due to the need for oil using this method. So I switched to using the microwave as I thought it would be easier and healthier. I used a large Pyrex dish and lid but it took forever for the kernels to pop so the whole batch would burn. After receiving the Lekue and feeling how flexible it is, I can see that the Pyrex dish was probably too thick for the heat to penetrate.I think the shape of the Lekue makes a difference to how well it pops the corn. Yes there were a few unpopped but I expect that because you will always get some duds. But all the others were crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle, just like the premium stuff that is now all the rage.I'm going to be making popcorn on a regular basis now it's so easy: I filled to the line, sprayed a couple of squirts of olive oil, sprinkle of salt and sugar. My microwave is 1000 watt and the next lowest setting is 600 watt so I cooked for 5 minutes. It wasn't quite sweet enough so I dusted the cooked popcorn with a little icing sugar as well. I'm really looking forward to experimenting with different flavours.

OK - so this piece of kit is NOT cheap, and that alone will put a lot of folks off. BUT - follow the directions, and it does the job, and in theory should last practically forever. I like plain popcorn - some only like it with lots of butter/salt/whatever. So for me, it's great, and takes up very little space in a cupboard.I forgot that my microwave is 900 watts, so I burned my first batch. My fault - the instructions clearly state that they apply to an 800 watt microwave. I then reduced to 90% power, and found that was also a bit too much, so now I use 80% power (roughly equivalent to 720 watts) for 2 minutes + 30 seconds. I also use about 1/4 cup (American standard measuring cup) of popcorn, not 1/2 cup, which IMHO is far too much. I get a nearly full container, with a few un-popped externals ("old maids"), but you get those with any method, whether hot air popper, stove-top or even the large commercial corn poppers.Would I buy it again? Yes, price notwithstanding, I definitely would. My only caveat is think about your *taste* in popcorn. This produces a great batch of plain popcorn. Yes, you can add melted butter and salt, but my years of experience with hot-air poppers and microwave popcorn done in a bag (not a commercial bag) suggests that a hot-air popped batch just doesn't take additives as well. If you like a plain, healthy low-calorie snack, this does the job superbly.

Works well but always leaves some unpopped corns and sometimes burns if left too long. The big advantage of this 'wave popper over the electric types is that you put the flavouring in, if you want any, before popping so that the popped corns get evenly coated in whatever you've used. I believe with the electric versions this can't be done and putting flavouring like salt or sugar on after popping doesn't work well because it doesn't stick to the corns. The procedure is to put the corns in the bowl then sprinkle a little olive oil over them together with your choice of flavouring if any. I've tried only salt or sugar. Only a small amount is needed. When popped, which takes around 3-4 minutes or so,the mix of oil and salt or sugar sticks fairly evenly to all the popped corns due to the oil coating. It can be a little tricky to get the timing right in the 'wave. Too short and there will be an excess of unpopped corns. Too long and there will be a number of burnt ones. I go on sound so that when the popping becomes less than roughly 1 per second, I stop it. But it is a bit hit and miss, even after a lot of use. For that reason I've knocked off a star. Apart from the risks of burnt and unpopped ones, this does make very good popcorn.

This popcorn maker is excellent, having melted another container and nuked kernels a few times I wasn't so sure, but the reviews were great so I thought I'd give it a go. Amazon delivered it on a Sunday, which was great BUT in just two days they've increased the price from under 14.50 to practically 20.00, so while I fully recommend the product, beware of prices hikes just before Thanksgiving/Xmas!I've tried it straight away and even though I panicked and removed it from the oven before most kernels had popped, I just removed them and returned the un-popped for another minute or so and it worked perfectly, very very few un-popped kernels left, great popcorn with just a smidgen of oil (not compulsory but I find it helps whatever seasoning to "stick" to the popcorn better). The collapsible bowl is great and takes no more room than a baking tray. The instructions booklet also comes with a few unusual recipes to try. As a popcorn addict, so far I can't fault this product!

This simple item has been a revolution to me - so fuss-free compared to the hob which can be hit and miss, and no chance of technical glitches like many complain of when buying the popcorn machines. Comes in a lovely box which you can keep for storage, along with a recipe booklet. Makes perfect popcorn every time if you get the timing just right after one or two tries - I have a 750w microwave and find 2:40mins is perfect, any longer and the popcorn gets a slightly singed smell (which is how you know you're over cooking it). I also find it tastes much better with a dollop of extra virgin olive oil.Yes there are a few seeds left over always, but same goes for using the hob and machines so I don't see this as a problem - especially since popcorn is so cheap. No idea why people would buy ready-made flavoured popcorn or the machines when it can so easily be made at home using this. I can totally recommend.

Having previously bought an halogen popcorn maker that no matter how I tried always seemed to leave a few burnt popcorn in the bottom, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I have a one thousand watt microwave and switch it on for 4 minutes but listen carefully for when it stops popping and switch it off. After a bit of research, I use Orville Redenbacher's popcorn as this is the one that everyone recommended. With it I use Rice Bran oil as this is also actually very good for you and is (supposed to actually reduce cholesterol). I also use a sprinkle of sea salt. The results are brilliant. Large tasty popcorn. There are always a few in the bottom that do not pop,but you can put them in the microwave again after you have removed the others. The results of the rest are not quite so good though, so I throw mine away. It stores away beautifully also. Well worth the money. (In my opinion).

This product changed my life!!!A fantastic piece of design. Just pop in the kernels (Id say about 4-5 tablespoons) and that will fill the container with popped kernels...The time taken to pop varies according to each microwave...it took about 3 mins and 20 secs on my 800W microwave.Once the popping slows down to 1-2 every few seconds, it is time to take it out, else it will burn!If you want to have the salted experience, then drizzle a tablespoon of oil onto the kernels...drizzle with salt and give it a good shake before sticking it in the oven. This will help the salt to stick to the kernel... without the oil, the salt wont stick and you will have salt-less popcorn...If you want a caramel experience, drizzle required quantity of sugar. Note: Give it a good shake once it is done...the caramel is very hot and can burn you!!! Wait for a few mins for the caramel to cool down!!

Really great product. Not the cheapest thing but if you are considering whether its worth the purchase price, trust me, it certainly is. Have used consistently now for several months (microwave to dishwasher) and product shows no signs of deterioration. Virtually all the kernals pop. I was using a chunky porcelain bowl and getting frustrated tying baking paper over the top with an elastic band to hold it in place until I found this, my god, I used have a lot of unpopped kernels. If that sounds at all familiar, this is the product for you, you won't regret your purchase. I use 80-90 grams of kernels with 5-10 sprays of frylight oil spray (or coconut oil If I can be arsed to melt it first),a little salt, give it a good shake 4 mins in the microwave and you have an excellent healthy wholegrain snack. Also had good results with maple and toffee flavour extract with stevia.

I'm trying to give healthy snacks for my family and have been trying various ways of cooking popcorn - on the stove, microwaved etc. I never liked the mircowavable bags from supermarkets because they had added salt or sugar.I tried microwaving kernals in various containters with disappointing results, mostly that the kernels didn't pop or if they did it was very lack lustre with small butterfly pops.I've been very impressed with this product for the following reasons:-The container is- easy to clean- easy to store because it folds up.- you can add flavourings without calories being compromised.- it's a serving bowl as well as a cooking bowl.-Most importantly, there's something about the design of this product that makes the popcorn come out consistently good. We're looking for weight loss snack alternatives and this does it for us.

Pros: Works fabulously! Absolutely thrilled at the perfect popcorn I consistently get from this wonderful gadget. And so quick and easy!Cons: More of a warning - the silicon bowl will be hot, hot, hot so use a tea towel to remove it from the microwave.Price - its expensive for what it is - silicon bowl with a loose lid, on the plus side, it works perfectly.Do not be tempted to add extra kernels; the lid is loose and rises up the bowl as the kernels pop. This means if overfilled, the lid rises up to the ceiling of the microwave, and trying to get the steaming hot bowl and popcorn, without spilling it everywhere, is very difficult.Oh, and out of curiosity, and the fact I'd run out of oil,I tried using this without the recommended tbsp of oil, and it worked fine, so if you want fat free too...

I bought this popcorn maker based solely on all its great reviews and was not disappointed! It does seems a lot of money for what it is but it works perfectly every time. It can be popped in the dish washer for easy cleaning, although to be honest it would only take a second to wash in the sink. I looked online for some simple seasoning recipes and made a couple up in bulk, so making a low calorie snack would be simple and quick. My favorite is equal measures of chilli powder, sea salt & coconut sugar. I melt a drop of coconut oil in the bottom of the bowl (in microwave) for a couple of seconds, then mix a teaspoon or two of this seasoning in the oil with the popcorn kernels and microwave for 2.5mins (however stop cooking when there is over 10 seconds between popping).Perfect every time!

I have experimented with various devices and ways of making the perfect buttery popcorn. Making popcorn on those air blowing stuff might be healthy but it is also tasteless. Melting butter and pouring it over the popcorn just makes it soggy. So the deal with this is that it actually makes dry buttery popcorn! It takes some trial an error to make it perfect. I found that putting butter unmelted in room temperature and salt directly in the tub with the kennels makes pop corn taste nearly as good as cinema ones... One last trick in order to make the lid fit as loosely as possible, try lifting it and letting drop again while in the microwave before cooking,it is silicon so during the transfer might actually seal in a tight fit which means that it might not be able to be lifted.

Some reveiws on this made me laugh, someone described washing it up,as ' herding cats ' ! Anyway, I found the product simple to use and did the job it stated. It popped the corn fine. Bit expensive for what it is . You have to experiment what works for you,in terms of not burning popcorn, I burned 9 popcorn pieces on my first try,but bought the time down 30 secs and then it was fine, any unpopped kernals ,just add them in again and give them another quick blast. As for washing up.....it was like definitely like herding cats, very very easy, (you put down some felix cat food and the cats all comply....as for the bowl, I just gave it a soapy wash and it was fine ,very easy) So yep, what more can I add?Don't over fill it. And nice it's BPA free. Enjoy your popcorn everyone ?

My favourite piece of equipment in the kitchen. Its so easy to make a bowl of popcorn with the Lekue. I have found that 2:20 - 2:40 minutes is sufficient time to pop most of the kernels without burning the popcorn. You can also experiment with the flavours that you get, with salt and pepper being a favourite of mine alongside maple syrup. Bear in mind when experimenting you may burn popcorn etc. this is all part of the process. Its also really easy to clean and can be folded to take up only a fraction of space - a necessity for someone living in halls. If i was to have one complaint it would be that the bowl itself is too hot to touch unassisted after use, but I just use a tea-towel.
