Looked through a lot of different beach shelters for use in backyard with children as a tent and also potentially for summer holidays. Wanted something that was quality made and also roomy enough to fit a young family of 2 adults and 2 children.Decided on this LittleLife version based on brand reputation, simplicity of construction and also ability to hold up in windy conditions.Disappointments with this one are:- fibreglass poles seemed to be slightly bent after use; would have preferred aluminium for durability and not worrying about dropping the poles- fabric is thin...not sure how long it will hold up for...maybe 2/3 seasons if that?- the fabric at the bottom really should have been madewaterproof; will need to get a separate sheet to put underneath to keep dry- setup and take down took 10 Mins EACH! I’ve done a fair bit of tent setup and it still wasn’t a smooth process as the metal joints between the selections of the poles kept getting caught while being pushed through the fabric guides- no strings arrived with the stakes to use for grounding the tent- very small triangle mesh window: if you have young children, you won’t be able to see them outside the tent other than through the main zip down door.Positives with the tent are:- roomy inside, children under 8 could stand up inside and walk around: diameter of 200cm, with each of the sides of the hexagon base at 100cm- nice to have zip up door- covered mesh window doesn’t let in much wind or sand, then keeps inside warm- compact size and durable looking bags to hold everything together, including separate small bags for the poles and the stakes; would fit in a carrying suitcase- colour is grey and a copperish orange; looks smart- small footprint with a geodesic shapeFor £40, it’s ok in value value...but if it had been waterproof on the bottom fabric and also around the zippers with more durable fabric, I would have paid £80-100 for its expanded usability and compact size from the LittleLife brand.**Update** after just 3 uses, for less than a total of 9 hours, one of the fibreglass poles has a pretty crack in two sections. The danger of this is that you can get fibreglass splinters as you’re sliding the poles into the tent sleeves as I did today. I did tape up the sections but it’s disappointing for a product like this to crack under normal use.

I will start with the only negtive I see but yet to prove as a negative - no protection on the zip on the door against rain.Aside that there are positives galore compared to all other beach shelters and using a small tent.LooksThis thing looks great. Got a lot of points and stares but all were thankfully positive!ErectionI think possibly as a relatively experienced camper it caused me no problem and even in nearly gale force wind it was erected quickly. My tips would be to erect the poles as you push through carefully. Make sure all three are in place before you actually bend into place and tension. In lacking space you can push poles thru and break them down until ready to tension then you can do one at a time reconstructing one side of each pole, partially tensioning then finishing the other side of pole to tension. I hope that makes sense. If it is really windy you can fill the sand pockets first. A tip would be to bring some large food bags to make up sand bags to easily slot into the pockets.SizeThroughout the day different uses and different people but ultimately there are 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 toddlers. We can shelter, change, eat, nap etc with no problem. The only squeeze comes when all want to pile in with our substantial baggage, wetsuits and bodyboards. The bodyboards stay outside the rest squeeze in like sardines but that is positive considering we are a large family!PracticalitiesWhilst the sandbags are good it could do with them on all sides but it certainly kept it held down in the windIt was waterproof but whether it would be so in driving rain i am unsure because of the zip.The door on this model is a bonus as it enables changing/naps or even walking away from it.In near gale force wind it hardly moves yet stays warm inside, yet in baking sun it is not too hot either.Pictures show erected shelter, sand in pockets and rain staying OUTSIDE.All in all perfect aside the zip.(I did not buy from Amazon as needed same day, however I though many would appreciate my review)

After doing lots of research we chose this tent, and it is brilliant! It's tall enough for our children to stand up in for many years (they are currently aged 2 and 4), it's easy to put up and take down (although it didn't come with any instructions!), and it all folds away into a small carry bag. We took it on holiday in the South of France, and were very grateful of the shade and UPF50 protection. We also used it on an extremely windy day, and it was super-strong and sturdy (one piece of advice though: fill the sandbags with sand before putting the poles in - much easier, especially in the wind). The ventilation panel at the back really worked - I was worried that we'd all bake in the tent, but the panel is cleverly designed to provide airflow without letting in wind and sand and sun (other tents we looked at had big window panels, but these would let in sun as well as air, and would have been disastrous on our windy day!). We used this tent in 30+ degrees heat, and it was perfect. The tent was plenty big enough for two adults and two children and all our belongings. Good for breastfeeding and privacy. Our baby boy slept comfortably inside (as did his dad!). The zip-up front is handy on a windy day, or for privacy, or to leave your belongings safe when you go for a walk. The whole design is fabulous, and even the colours are great. Our tent received lots of admiring glances on the beach :-) Highly recommended, and we would choose exactly the same again if we had to.

This is a great beach tent, we were lucky enough to be on holiday in the heatwave at the end of June and spent most days of our days on the beach. We thought that this was so much better than the average beach shelter for a number of reasons, as we could get inside to protect us from the heat of the day, wind, etc and we could store all our stuff needed for a day at the beach. We read one review where a lady had returned it as she thought it was too big, but for me, my husband and our dog if was a great fit. IMPORTANT probably due to the heat, we found it all most impossible to collapse the tent poles down on the first day,but we put a bit of Vaseline in each connection and we didn't have that problem any more.

Bought this as a more practical approach to a beach shelter, the ability to zip up the front door for a little more privacy was a huge plus for getting changed on the beach.Very easy and quick to erect and take down.Really does keep the sun out and helped us keep cool in the midday sun with the vent at the back allowing air flow, roomy enough for 2 adults and a child to have their picnic on the beach under shelter and out of view of diving seagulls..A couple of "look outs"; be careful when putting the poles together as they can catch and splinter at the end, also when inserting the poles ensure they don't catch the material as it will snag.Overall it did exactly what we needed it too.

Great piece of kit, well made, and very easy to put up and take down ( and when you're on the beach with an 18mth old and a 3 year old believe me that counts! ). More spacious than the photo makes you think because it's effectively a cube shape rather than a rectangle. Plenty of room top set up a small table and chairs for the kids to enjoy a non sandy beach lunch! Combined with the SKLZ Umberella Shelter, and 2 windbreaks, we've created a lovely shletered oasis of coolness and calm on the beach. Great also for camping or just those random picnics/bar-b-ques you end up having on a sunny day.

Once you have managed to put it up once it suddenly becomes easy!!! Instructions are not very good! Sturdy and stable, sand pouches help in strong wind, larger than I expected also. Was perfect for a group of 11 of us to put everything we wanted in to stop getting too sandy and for 2 to sit in if needed. If rainy, need some shade or too windy on the beach could easily sit 4 in it, even lie a couple of adults and kids down! Good but and good value for money.

Personally I was initially dissapointed. The carrier does not update the delivery status passed dispatched so don't expect to follow your parcel. When it arrived as expected, we tried to put together but one of the pockets was to thin at one point to accept the join in the pole so I had to undo the seam then re stitch. A one off??? But the shelter is of good size but is hot inside when the sun is shining. On those days I will be taking our coleman

Great item to provide a good sized shelter on the beach. Private and a bit more secure than the open shelters. Easy to put up. We find this really useful for our family of five. Especially for UK holidays where beach days might be interrupted by the occasional shower. It is very small and light so it is easy to keep in the car and carry to the beach even when juggling 3 young children and all the gubbins we need to go with the kids!

Our best buy of the summer. Great value for money, so small and compact when packed away, yet large enough to get changed in on the beach as the door zips up allowing for privacy. Has a double zip so we found zipping it up from the floor and leaving the top section open worked great as kept any cool breeze out but stopped tent from becoming a sauna! Our little girl happily napped in there. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to all.

We bought this for a family trip to Cornwall. I have 3 small children and we had plenty of space for them and my husband and I. It was easy to put up and I loved the external pocket design feature as we could weigh down the tent by filling the pockets with large stones or sand and the material was tough enough to withstand this. The tent was great at sheltering us from the wind and sun and I would thoroughly recommend it.

I am so impressed with this. It was the best purchase we have made this summer. We bought it to replace one that automatically springs open, but difficult to fold back down. For a family of 4, 2 adults and kids aged 11 & 4 it was perfect size wise as well as height. Perfect for getting changed in on the beach. Easy to put up, even though it may take 5-10 mins, it was well worth it.

Perfect beach tent. Family of 5, and in a freak rain shower, we all easily fitted in for shelter, much to the envy of others on the beach running for shelter. The sand pockets are great. Feutreventura is a windy island but we had no issues. Most importantly it was ideally for our new born, and had room still for his big brother and sister. Can't recommend it highly enough.

I should have really done a review for this years ago when I first got it, but in many ways I wouldn’t have been able to say how brilliant it has been, as an easy pop up beach hut for when I go surfing with my son! Its absolutely brilliant and is standing the test of time, and is really very easy and quick to put up! Definitely would recommend.

Have had it now for 2 years and has been used constanly for use on the beach in that time. Over that time has been brillant ( in rain wind sea spray , it remained dry inside) but it has now come to the end of its life. The fabric where the poles fit is beginning to rot. Having beach tents for years no problem erecting it. Great product.
