I've only had this for about two hours, but I just wanted to write a review regarding the assembly, for those who might be reading this before buying. It was NOT that hard to assemble. There is a lot of exaggeration on the other reviews -- most difficult awful thing ever to assemble? Requiring physical strength that left you aching? Took hours and hours to assemble? That just wasn't my experience.  Some things to keep in mind: Pay attention to the pictures in the instruction booklet, particularly when it comes to how the assembler's hands are oriented. Watch the video (I couldn't find it here but googled "Cozy Coupe Video" and it was the first one to pop up) if you're super visual.I had a hard time with the roof supports at first too, until I realized when the instructions said "pull towards you, then push" that I had to be on the side of the roof, not behind it. Once I reoriented myself, it was done in like 30 seconds. So yeah, it would be nice if the instructions were more clear, but that goes for pretty much everything in the world that requires assembly. Also, there is text in the instruction booklet, despite some other reviews. It is a little annoying that you need to have a power drill, but I think they do indicate that on the box, so you really can't blame them for that, either. Anyway, if you don't have one, just borrow one from a neighbor.  The car is super cute and my 1-year-old really enjoyed being pushed around the house in it. We're looking forward to taking it for a test run outside soon.

Little Tikes has been part of our family for generations. It is one of the few brands that is still made well and made here in the United States. The kids were super excited to have their dad build the car. It was pretty easy to build. The parts were all in good condition and the directions were logical and easy to follow. There was just one little issue with the stickers not matching the picture and not really sure where to place them but we figured it out. The kids enjoyed playing with the box while it was built. The could not wait to ride it. The littlest one is two and his older brother is four. They both enjoyed being able to ride it by themselves as well as be pushed. The first version I bought them earlier did not have the handle to make it easier to push.I highly recommend this toy for boys and girls from ages 1 to 5 as suggested on the packaging. There is an optional item you can add that is included for those who are a little shorter and can't reach the ground yet. It is good for use in the home and outside. We use it on the tile and hardwood floor mostly but it works on carpets too. You just need some room to store it. This is the third Little Tikes toy I have given them recently and I really like the quality. It really is much better than the toys from other manufacturers. I have stopped buying some of those other brands because the toys break so easily. These can last many years and be passed down to another child.

Only the first one is difficult to put together. After making and correcting mistakes resulting from poor drawings and going too fast because I am mechanically handy, I got it together in an hour. Most mistakes can be redone easily. The ones to watch out for are as follows: 1) Be sure to insert both upper and lower front plastic axle bushings "F" in car body before inserting axles "R". I left out the lower bushings and had to cut off the retainer caps "D" with tin snips to get the front axles off and put the bushings in. Luckily, there were two extra retainer caps in the package. 2) If these same axle retainer caps are driven on too far, it will cause the axles and wheels to bind a bit as mentioned in another review.Of course, spend enough time making sure that the front axles are inserted on the correct side and the four bushings are inserted before setting the retainer caps. The caps do not come off without destroying them.3) Another mistake I made was to put aside the directions that were not in English. I guess that I am conditioned to expect duplicate directions in other languages. Late in the game I discovered that the missing diagrams I was looking for were on those pages of foreign languages. Maybe with this heads up, things will go better for you that they would have otherwise, but you will still have difficulty if this is your first assembly or are not mechanically inclined.

my wife and i got this yesterday for our daughter's first birthday. we had to get it since we both had these when we were kids. a lot of people complain about how hard the assembly is and i will say that you do need to be a bit mechanically inclined to get it together. some of my complaints with it are that some of the plastic pieces for the roof are molded poorly. i had to end up cutting down one of the studs for the rear pillar because the stud was molded crooked and i didn't want my daughter to have to wait for replacement parts. took me about 45 minutes to get it all together using a drill but my daughter is absolutely in love with this thing.i wish they would have remade the first design just for nostalgic reasons but it warms my heart seeing how happy my daughter is with a toy that i loved when i was a little kid. oh, and one last complaint is that the red fittings that you have to hammer into place had the cap come off on the top ones that hold the front axles so there is exposed sharp metal right now but ill pry it off and put one of the extra ones on when i have some time. don't purchase this if you don't have some basic mechanical skills or a family member that does.

I am a first-time mom, and I bought this product for my 10 mo old boy. Before assembled it, I had viewed "little-cozy-coupe-assembly-instruction" at Little Tikes website for about 5 times. After that, I opened the box and followed "STEP by STEP"...including freeze instruction video...then...I assembled it MYSLEF. The key is to follow and watch carefully and freeze "instruction video" step by step...I meant STEP BY STEP...make sure that you have all tools that's recommend...power screw and hammer. My 10 mo boy was sooo happy to see and just be inside this "coupe/car". He is 13mo now, and he spends a lot of time going in and out and out and in of this coupe...or just sitting inside the coupe smiling at me.I cant wait for him to "ride" this car soon. P.S. one of red cap at tire fall out. I just hope tire won't come out. Highly recommend this product regardless its big size (I live in a small apt). Con- has to bend over to push car!!! Back can hurt and feel tired. Wondering if I can install a push bar somewhere in the back of coupe......anyone has any idea?

I bought this for my first grandson and we could not get him out of it. It was nice that we could take him outside and not have to chase him all over. We could sit and watch while he went up and down the driveway, went pretend shopping, through the fast food line and stopped for gas. The cupholders are great, not only for his special "travel mug", but his "travel mates" as well. Even though it is now a few years old, he still refers to it as "my new car". My daughter loaned the car to my son when they had company from abroad (big, big hit, BTW) and his little gal, age 7 months, has claimed it for herself. She plays with it everyday. She uses it to pull herself to a standing position and can open and close the door and gas tank; something she finds quite amusing. Her parents take her for a ride in it every day and it is comical to see the look on her face because she thinks she is really steering it. She has the steering figured out! I just returned from buying the Princess Cozy Coupe so we can return the first car to it's rightful family.

I bought this for my 15 month old for christmas. We didn't wrap it just parked it in front of the tree he went straight to it and climbed in side and just sat there with the biggest smile on his face. He loves this car and his older brother loves to push him around in it. we usually keep the floor board in because of his size one day i heard him screaming and found him stuck in the car one leg and his head where under the front tires and the other was out the door his brother had removed the floor board. he also doesn't alway like to use the door climbs thru the windows if the wheels are not in the right spot the car will tip over when he does this.I think the safety issues I am having would not happed if the car was larger like it used to be. All in all this is a great toy my kids love it. the age recomendation is 1 1/2 to 5. my 15 month old is small i should have waited for him to get a bit bigger. however there is no way my 5 year old would fit in this car. my friends have an older model he fits no problem in that.

I saw this product in the store and brought it because the other gift I wanted to get for my son for Christmas was sold out. I've brought Little Tikes products for all my children through the years, have assembled them myself (hubby doesn't like to use directions) and have always been pleased with the product. My goodness I ran into a challenge with this toy. The directions are a joke. I kept having to stop assembling every couple of steps to figure out what was supposed to go where. After I was finish assembling but still having trouble with the rear pillars of the car I decided to get online for some help. Low and behold I discovered the online video.Even after that still have not completely screwed the screws into the rear pillars because my screw driver isn't small enough. DVD's of the assembly should come with every cozy coupe! Or it should be posted on the front of the instruction sheet in big bold letters that you can go online to view an instructional video to spare parents the agony of an all day assembly.

My son LOVES his car. My friend's daughter has one and every time we go to her house the first thing my son does is run to the car. So we decided to get him one for Christmas. I never in a million years thought it would've been so hard to put together. My husband and father-in-law spent over an hour trying to assemble. The roof did not have the holes it needed to lock the back braces into place. They had to to make them. The whole time my son was trying to get in it and was very upset. Thinking it was just our car, I called my friend and they had the same issue with their car last Christmas.....long assembly time and had to make holes where they should've been.Based on that I would've given 2 stars BUT after it was all put together and my son was able to play with it, it made it worth all the trouble. Be prepared to take some time putting together- it isn't as easy as the instructions and instruction video make it out to be. Overall it is a great toy and has provided hours of fun already!

My son Josh got the Cozy Coupe as a first birthday gift from his grandparents. I assembled the car, with one hiccup at the stage where the front pillars are inserted - found them to be quite firm to locate in position, but remedied this by using a smear of olive oil on one sheet of paper towel to lubricate the hook-in parts at the base of each pillar. Assembled in under 30 minutes, I am very impressed with the solid construction of this car! He obviously has not used it for long, as I assembled it today, but the look on his face as we (my wife, other sons and I) push him around says it all - he loves it. I can find no fault with this toy as yet, maybe the instructions could suggest a mild lubricant on the front pillars? Some reviews I have read condemn the Cozy Coupe and say they would tell people to steer clear of it because they had difficulty with assembly. I personally found that if you follow the instructions and take some initiative (ie, lubricate difficult joints) you will have no trouble.
