WiFi has limitations. Get over it.Use an extender and you WILL reduce the overall data transmission capacity. That is just the way these things work, perversely having the main router and extender close together giving the technically "worse" outcome.But in many cases it will be the difference between having a signal or no useful signal at all in places, and that is what you buy them for: convenience. Try different locations for the extender.All that said, this unit works very well, simple to set up & no stupid creation of an additional "Network EXT" to confuse matters. All seamless.For me it was just the ability to get my iPad not eating my Mobile Data bandwidth when I was in bed! (Sad but true)

We had several places in our 3 storey house where we couldn't reliably pick up a wifi signal. I purchased the Linksys RE2000 after reading a few reviews. The item arrived speedily and was very simple to set up. It worked perfectly from the start and we have not experienced any problems at all over the last 3 months. It is plugged into a socket in a spare room, and we now have full signal strength throughout the house - bliss!I realise that I could have paid much less for a similar device, but I didn't want a complicated set up process or problems with signal dropout from time to time. The Linksys met my expectations fully, to the extent that I don't think about it at all. Fit and forget.

I decided on this particular model after a lot of research. The problem was a weakened wireless signal in an old stone-built farmhouse on three floors....I replaced the router, that helped, but the top floor was still a problem....two ring mains ruled out the 'plug in' option, but this seemed a possibility. I followed the instructions and found the set-up very quick and simple. It has given a very strong signal at the farthest point in the house which is constant and has given no problem since installation. Highly recommended.

This is a wireless extender not a powerline, I've linked it to my RE6500 and it works a dream, not the easiest to set up (not hard either, just not plug and play) but once done it's done, you don't have to keep resetting it. The other great benefit is that it clones your network thus when you move from one place to another your phone, pad or laptop don't have to go searching for a new wifi connector thus giving seamless operation.

Very pleased with this item, it has worked and it has done the job it should do.One of the best boosters I have purchased.Sorry to say that Amazon let me down on delivery, supposed to deliver on Sunday ( Waited in all day)NO sign of my delivery.Had to wait till the following day, this put me out.This has no reflection on the Linksys Booster great product.Alan 1952

This wireless N extender was so easy to set up. You just plug it in and follow a couple of simple instructions from the set up disc. It took 5 minutes max.I now have full signal in the outer extremities of my house.... wahay!The extender itself is smart looking and unobtrusive, another bonus.I give this product 10/10

Easy to set up and has really boosted the signal in our dead spot. We can now get a wifi signal in the sun room which had no signal at all and it has not reduced it in the rest of the house. It is quite big so is noticeable in our hall way which is where I had to plug it in to get the signal.

Arrived promptly, good price and works well. Sometimes needs resetting when signal drops off; but that could be Broadband issue, not necessarily this unit. As with all these type of things it needs careful positioning in the house to give best signal possible where you actually need it.

I purchased this item to pair with a Linksys N Router (WAG160N)and it works exactly as I hoped. Setup very easy, just insert CD and follow a few easy, non-technical steps, and within 5 minutes it worked perfectly. Thanks Linksys.

Before I buy RE1000, I used to connect my computer to the router with a wifi USB dongle, but the wireless strengh was not so good. Now I can get higher data rates while downloading/uploading.

Bought this product instead of the cheaper brands. Works fantastically. Used in an old very big grade 2 listed building with very thick wall. Works in every room over two floors.A must buy.

Best extender I have bought to date. Easiest to set up so far. Bought and installed 2 of these recently. Both like clockwork. Better range than the dlink ones I tried

Does the job and range is now extended. Some trial relating to the position, but once found, now working great!

Seems to work fine. Can also be used to convert an ethernet device into a wireless devise.
