We bought this item as our grandson is now on the move! We are very pleased with the quality and ease of use of this item but thank goodness my husband was an engineer as it was not the easiest thing to fit to our stairs. We live in a 1980s house and the stairs have three steps up and then a turn with the end post ending on the first step not the floor. Add to the mix the skirting board and it all became a bit tricky. However, with much huffing and puffing it was accomplished.

We bought our pressure-fit Lindam stair gate in 2013 so I wasn't sure if this product would be compatible given that it's now 2016. It did fit, and top marks for the design. All you do is remove two of the inserts on your Lindam stair gate (same side, one top and one bottom) and the extension just slots in. You then put the inserts from the stair gate into the extension section and hey presto, a nice straight forward DIY job!

So I ordered this item under the impression that it was a universal fit for most safety gates. It turns out that it says on the box that it's for lindam / munchkin gates. Wasn't a problem for us as we happened to have another (lindam) gate to fit it to so just had to swap some gates around at home.Apart from that it's a fine item, does the intended job and easier fit to our lindam gate.

The dog cannot get upstairs now! The product was easy to install with clear instructions. The final tightening of screws was a bit tricky in order to get it square to the wall. The final fit was safer and stronger than the fit without the extension. Online ordering and priority collection from store worked a treat.

I purchased this extension as my opening was a little too big for the gate.Easily fitted in a couple of mins just remove the plastic inserts top and bottom of the hinged side and the extension piece slots straight in then just replace the plastic inserts into the extension and the fixing bolts all round.

I was glad i purchased this as the gap at the top of the stairs was just to large to fit the normal gate to and i may have been pushing the limit of the standard gate adjustments without it.The extension fitted easily and looks like it is part of the original gate

This product is an excellent idea for people who have a wider door way or stair case. Unfortunately the extenders did not fit my baby gate but I took them back to customer service where I recived excellent service and a full refund of the product brought

Good product, that's easy to fit. If like me your hallway is just a couple of inches wider than the natural fit of the baby gate you have this is a life saver. Just make sure you get the right one to match the gate you purchase originally.

Fitr easy to the existing gate.The awkwardness of the space still meant the top wasn't wide enough but the bottom was right. But as the product itself goes, definitely comes in handy when your just slightly too short for the gate itself

Had to take it back, may be universal but its too short and doesn't fit the Lidham Tall gate version. Otherwise it would have been perfect. Unfortunately Argos do not stock the one which I required but I believe they sell the Tall gate

After buying a new stair gate I soon realised my stairs are too wide and it wouldn't be secure. This product sides perfectly into the stair gate and it's now really secure. Took 2 minutes to fit and really simple. Definitely a good buy

We got handed down a stairgate for our new house but needed the extension. It took a bit of fitting as we couldn't get the bits out of the stairgate to insert the extension but once we had it was super easy to fit.

So much better to purchase this then having to buy a wider gate. Was really easy to fit and extended my gate enough to fit the gap on stairs. I have two different types of lindam gates and it fit on both.

Reserved online and picked up later that day.It does exactly what it says on the box!Fairly easy to fit. Hardest part is removing the parts from existing gate. All done is aboit 20 minutes. Looks good.

We needed a compatible extension for our stair gate , this is a good product easy to fit. I ordered approx 8pm in the evening and collected it from Argos at 9am the next morning. excellent service.
