I cannot see how this is one hand opening.. but having said that everything else about it is good.. sturdy, came well packaged in a box and easy to assemble. I would suggest buying the separately bought wall/woodwork protector cups. This is cause there is double sided circles of tape which you use to position the wall otherwise and I can see if you needed to remove to decorate this could cause damage to a wall or wood. I do not regret buying the cups or the gate. I am a disabled older lady and managed to fit this no problem with no need to get the drill out. I can recommend this and its a very good price. .excellent quality for the money. I needed it to stop a dog using the stairs.

We got a staffy from our local rescue centre, we were told he had separation anxiety. We bought this gate so we could work on improving his anxiety. It's a good height, he wasn't able to get over the top of it. As long as you put the little switch thing down at the bottom, it is surprisingly robust too. He can still see and hear us, we can help him out or just serve up food without being pestered.The only negatives are that it can be really tricky to use one-handed. It is possible, but when there's an excited dog trying to push past it isn't exactly easy. This is because the handle sometimes struggles to lift up, which is how you release the gate. The other negative is how fiddly it is to mount.

I had to return this product because there was slight confusion in one of the Q&A's about maximum width. Unfortunately it was too narrow for the very wide door I wanted it for - and for various reasons the side extensions I could have purchased would not have worked in the slightly unusual opening I wanted to block off. That said, I wanted to write a review because the product itself is of excellent quality and I was disappointed I could not use it. For anyone with standard type openings this is would be an excellent choice - the quality is good - it is strong - and the lock itself is very secure - but just be aware the maximum width (without additional extensions) is the 82 cm it states on the box.

Bought this gate to contain our puppy when necessary. It is higher than some gates so perfect for us. We didn't want to fix to the wall so the pressure fitting works well. Didn't think this was going to work when we first opened it it looked out of line we thought it was damaged. This was not the case & when you put it in place & use the pressure pads all comes into line & is very secure. There is a little catch at bottom of gate which flips up to make it more secure. I had cause to contact the company when I thought it was damaged and most of the staff who got involved with emails were extremely helpful & pointed me in the right direction. Only one did I have an issue with the way they answered my emails.

My gate arrived in double-quick time (just over 24 hours). After checking the contents were all present and correct, I set about the installation process. It took me all of 10 minutes - no drilling or hammering, just a spanner (supplied in the box) to tighten the nuts and bolts. The gate is perfect for our requirements and, as we acquired the taller version of the gate, my 2 year old grandson cannot get over the bars. I like the fact that you can use the catches at the base of the gate to set which way the gate opens. So far I have had no problem with the locking mechanism (as some reviewers have apparently experienced) so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. On that basis,

I’ve always had this brand of gate, for kiddie gates and the taller ones for doggies, they have lasted and lasted and they are super easy to install and uninstall to move, not to heavy to carry, if you need to, but sturdy enough to stop a big Border Collie for jumping it and pushing it out of place! I found I’ve only ever had one issue and that was that the blue clip at the top can crack or perish after a few years, but you would expect some wear and tear after that long a period of everyday use. A product and brand that I would recommend as either a toddler/child/dog gate. I requested a specific delivery date from the seller and it arrived by DPD when requested - all round a perfect experience

Brilliant gate! I read up on reviews for a few nights before ordering this and it's been excellent. We needed to order a 7cm extension (super easy to install) but once fitted it's doing the job. It took me (on my own) 15min to install from adding the extension to getting our 15 month old daughter hanging off it in a (failed) attempt to break it down. No screws (just some sticky pads on the walls) and it is firm as the wall it's attached to. Well worth the money and peace of mind so that our monster doesn't go for a nose dive down the stairs. I recommend getting the gate first and then seeing which extension you might need as it's hard to tell before due to the added length of the screws.

The ability of this gate, with its various extensions, to fit almost any gap is brilliant. It also means that it can be used in different parts of the house by adding or removing extension pieces, rather than buying several gates - ideal for grandparents who use the gate from time to time when the grandson/daughter visits, and who want to restrict access to different areas at different times. On the downside, the screw pressure on the side walls that is required to get the gate to lock correctly, is excessive. It damaged the plaster in our hall. No small baby has the strength to move the gate at even a much lower pressure, so why design it to resistb an Olympic strength weightlifter?

Excellent purchase - now stays permanently as a replacement door for my gradnchildren's bedroom when they visit. A little fiddly to install and make sure that the gate is dead square across the doorway but nice and tall and safe - The double action locking system ensures that even my clever little monsters haven't yet worked out how to open it - plus at this height it makes it even more difficult for them to operate if they could. All I have to remember now is not to trip over the bottom cross bar when I step in and out of the room, which so far I've done six time!!! :-) I would recommend this product to any safety conscious parents/grandparents.

Good sturdy gate! I specially wanted one that I could open with one hand in case I had the baby in my arms. You can open this with just one hand bit its a bit tricky given that you have to push the levers in and lift the handle at the same time. At first I did not fully clip the handle down which meant I coule very easily open the gate with just ine hand but its quite dangerous for little fingers so I stopped doing this the miment she was able to stand up. Any way - I mastered the full open with one hand manoeuvre in a couple of weeks so very happy with the gate.

Even though this said a maximum opening of 82cm and min 76cm...this is not 100%trueIn some parts the bottom of the gate is jammed in tight and won't budge which is great. However the top part of the gate could easily be knocked out with some force. No idea why there is such a difference when fitting these gates as I ordered 4 of them.However they do the trick and the little one hasn't been able to open these gates no has he been able to climb up or down the stairs or enter the kitchen whilst cooking.

Fitting the gate takes about 30min and I thought it would be a bit easier but it is not really complicated either. The indications are clear enough. You just need to take your time and not to do it on a rush as you may end up doing mistakes with the stickers. Once it is on it is easy to use and looks nice and safe. Slightly complicated to open with only one hand (when you are holding your baby for instance) but you get used to it.So does the job well it keeps your baby safe and look is nice

We bought this to restrict access of our toddler to the kitchen. It does what it says on the tin it just isn’t our favourite of lindam design for the locking mechanism. The other lindam we have use a pinching mechanism to open the door which you can easily do with one hand. This one you may need two hands to open this baby gate. And further, it does not automatically catch and lock when closing. You have to manually close the lock to the gate. It is a bit inconvenient but a good height!

Very nice gate. It works perfectly, it's solid and toddler can't open it. It looks good, too. However, be careful when you assemble it on a painted wall...I used the stickers that they provide to protect the wall but, if you have to remove the gate (and eventually you will!), it is a real nightmare to get the glue off the wall. In my experience, I ended up having to repaint the small areas where the stickers were. I believe they could have done a better job with the stickers.

Have been using the Lindham Easy Plus Deluxe Gate for 18 months. This gate is on the nursery so gets a lot of child bashing abuse. It is pressure fitted between door frames. Very solid and has not needed adjustment. It does tend to half close on it's own, I wish it would either stay open or swing shut. We also own a Tippitoes Narrow Swing Shut gate. Both have been excellent. I would say the Lindam just takes the edge for the locking mechanism, but there's very little in it.
