I agree that these can be fiddly to set up as I bought two at the same time. One worked straight away and the other took away around 20mins of my life to connect and claim the light. I have however got them up and running as two bedside lights and they are really nice and reliable now and come highly recommended as replacement bulbs offering anything from a flame red colour to a blue white colour. It is worth noting though (and this point has been made by another reviewer) that if you have other lights from Lifx as in the A19 1100 lumen multicolour lights (I have three now) then these do not do 3200k which in my view is a good middle point between warm and cold.I can only hope that this is a software fixable issue as matching these to my other Lifx coloured lights is not possible at that setting. It's not a massive issue for me but for some, that want to use the Day/Dusk feature with mixed lights will notice the jump between 3000k and 3500k.One of my favourite things is the scheduling. I have a schedule set for my girlfriend where the light on her side of the bed comes on at its warmest setting the same time as her second 'Alarm Snooze Button press" at the dimmest level and then proceeds to dim up to 30% (all user definable) over 15mins. This is not too bright to ruin my morning and it helps her see when she gets out of bed. If you're are clever you can set a few consecutive schedules to change the colour from super warm to a more morning colour temperate. Something I would like to see implemented in to future version of the Lifx app's scheduling options (Start colour ---> End Colour). All in all, a great little light that not only offers similar brightness to a standard filament 60watt, but uses a fraction of the energy and offers a better than expected kelvin range. The scheduling alone is kind of worth it.I bought two of these a couple of weeks ago for £24.99 which I think is a little expensive compared to other options. The fact that they are now selling them for a penny under £30 means I would personally more seriously consider other options if you are just getting in to smart lights. That said, I don't think you can go too far wrong with these but for them to be more expensive than Philips hue bulbs of the same type seems odd planning. Their A19 bulbs is a different animal as it's brighter with better colours than Philips last efforts but i'm not sure this one sticks it's head up high enough for that extra hike in cost.

We use 4 of these on a single light switch for the main light in our lounge room. We are happy with the light from these globes. It's good having bright, blue-tinted light when you need to see clearly and be alert. Having dimmer, warmer light late in the evening is pleasant and does seem to get you ready for sleeping. The automatic late night dimming/warming of the light works well too.The setup was frustrating and non-obvious, but eventually they worked OK with the LIFX app. We had no joy getting them to work (properly) with Google Home or the Logitech hub-based remote, even though they are meant to work with both.Controlling the globes from our mobiles works fine when we are on the same Wi-Fi network. These globes will only connect to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Our phones prefer to be on 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Controlling the globes from the 5 GHz Wi-Fi usually works, but sometimes some of the globes don't respond. Controlling the globes from a wired PC with the Windows LIFX app seems to work fine (but the Windows app looks quite different to the mobile app).Addendum 27-Nov-2020 (after 3 months): still happy with the globes themselves, but still some frustration with controlling them. We have one globe that continually disables the dimming schedule. I suspect this is a software bug because controlling the globes manually, they work as expected (with the limitations mentioned above). Also, while the late night dimming works well (except for that one globe), if we turn the globes off at the light switch, the globes do no reset themselves the next day (i.e. we have to manually brighten and cool them). If we turn the lights off using the app, they'll turn themselves on next morning whether we want them on or not.

Compared to other smart bulbs that only change their colour temperature rather than have true multicolour, the LIFX Mini Day/Dusk goes much lower in the Kelvin rating range, right down to 1500k.For those trying to eliminate blue light to help with sleep problems it makes them worth a look compared to the competition that doesn't go much lower than incandescent ~2500k range.Linked to Google Home flawlessly, and the schedule option in the LIFX app is great for bluer whites upon waking and redder as it gets closer to bedtime. The only down side, which is true for almost all smart lights, is LIFX have no physical switches that place them in standby to work like a "dumb light switch" all,and all the cheaper after-market versions work via LIFX's cloud protocol rather than WiFi protocol, which means a noticeable lag between pressing the button and the light itself responding. This leads to the people you place the emulated "dumb" switches for (elderly parents etc) to keep pressing the buttons thinking they don't work.TL;DR - if LIFX released a physical button similar to their major competitor's 4 way dimmer button that works locally rather than relying on the cloud, these would be five star best option hands down. Of note, the competitor with the good button doesn't have B22, so at the moment for Australian buyers there isn't really a hands down best option.

Another great lifx bulb, we are slowly replacing all the bulbs in our house with these it seems. Very easy to install no hub required, bought some of the larger more expensive versions about 4 years ago and have since bought this and one other for different rooms, the 4 year old bulbs are still going strong! Some may think these are expensive but in my experience think they're are worth every penny! The longevity, ability to dim lights and change the light temperature from warm yellow light in the evenings to bright white light in the days definitely justifies the price, and linking with a voice assistant makes them even better.Fantastic and cant see us buying a different brand of smart bulbs any time soon!

Other reviews had me worried that this was a difficult light to set up. Maybe LIFX did some sort of major app or software update since then because I found the setup process to be a breeze, especially compared the the TP Link bulbs I have. The app is nicer, the integrations seem great, the color spectrum goes from almost red to very bright, and it is more compact than other bulbs. I was replacing a mini-globe bulb. I can’t find any smart, bayonet golf-ball style mini bulbs, and some smart bulbs are huge and would have hung out the bottom of the lamp shade, but this LIFX one, despite being larger than a true mini-globe is a good size and works well.I’m very impressed so far and about to buy another.

Bought this on an Amazon deal which made it just about OK. Full price these are too expensive! I'm used to Lifx so didn't have a problem installing but it's not improved since last time - I can fully understand this being a big negative for some. Have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the night and day control. Unless I'm missing something it is much more limiting that I'd expected! I'd like (a) more set points and (b) more control of the fades between these set points. Maybe things will improve in s/w updates. Hope so, I probably wouldn't buy any more of the night and day at the moment.

As a HomeKit device, this bulb works pretty well. You can only turn it on/off and dim through HomeKit / the Apple Home app, you can't adjust the white tint. It also occasionally (every couple of weeks?) seems to require being turned off and on again at the wall as it seems to freeze and become unresponsive to HomeKit commands. I haven't used the LIFX app at all – you can setup and use the bulb purely through HomeKit.As a bulb, the quality of the light is decent, and I like the way it smoothly but quickly fades on/off when you switch it.

I had three old LIFX bulbs and have recently moved as well as upgraded my internet. For some reason the old bulbs refused to work on the new network so recycled them. Bought four new LIFX bulbs for the cinema room, lounge, office and bedroom. Each took less than 5 minutes to setup, each works on 'Homekit' and I can now have lovely low tone light in these rooms. I am not a person for a lot of bright light. I like to control the temp and colour of the light in my rooms. LIFX are great bulbs at reasonable prices and really easy to set up.

Arrived super fast, well packaged up, was easy to Switch bulbs & worked well with light switch turning off & on at the wall, downloaded the app & it works great with my phone,Setting it up & connecting it to alex is HORRIBLE, IT WILL NOT CONNECT... i tried everything & it refuses to find it,A little disappointed as i really wanted to use it with Alexa, which is why i dropped stars,But its saving grace is its great operated with my mobile......

First one I got didn't work. So 4 stars. They replacement works perfectly. The options are great, it's set as a bedside light. It has scenes, like candles and strobe, which you'll play with before settling on on or off. But it can be set to work as a morning wake up light or dim to sleep and has scheduling options if you're out or just don't want to think about it. Also Dawn or dusk mode.

I was fortunate to buy this when it was on offer so didn't mind the price. I bought this type as I do not have a hub. It was extremely easy to install and does exactly as I want. I control it with my alexa but can use the app too. The dawn function is fantastic I have been awake (naturally) way before my alarm has gone off and I feel more awake. Definetly worth buying

Not easy to set up and poor instructions. The app does not always work on android phone and its not my wifi. However, it has a lovely spectrum of lights and I like this product. Good if you wish to avoid a hub and want just 1 or two lights. A little coslty but my real gripe is set up and the app could work better and then it would be very good to use

2.5.2021

Great bulb, especially considering how it doesn't need any kind of extra switch or hub like Philips bulbs for the extra features.I got this bulb because it gradually turns on over a set amount of time unlike a lot of bulbs which just turn on at a certain time. This feature is great. Also, the app works great and is very user friendly.

I have 2 of these lights, and love the range of light on offer. Also like their flexiblity, I am controlling them from Alexa devices, a harmony hub and from IPhone and Android phones. All work fine.Took a little effort to get the lights registered, but once set up they work flawlessly.

Made my life simple as superb. Can control from anywhere. If you have iPad at home then you can use your iPhone to control this via the Home app or SIRI.If not, then use their LIFX app. Cheaper than Philips but better quality for the price.
