This can serve as a very versatile dac+amp combo even when used stand alone without pairing with the LG G5 phone itself. It has an ESS 9028K2M DAC and a ESS 9602 AMP build right in which are only found in some more expensive dedicated audiophile playback devices. Even though it does not have battery built into itself, this very fact can serve as an advantage because engineering power supply circuit can be very intricate process and bad power supply design can ruin otherwise superb sound quality. This also makes it light weight and comfortable to transport it between places, say, one's office and home. The build quality is very good which is generally expected from LG.

Before I review this B&O DACI will point out I bought this at a greatly reduced price from Egypt....and I mean greatly reduced...I wouldn't dream of paying this price for this particular DAC no matter how good it is as a module...I do however have a Fiio DAC so I was able to test it against this item which works fantastic..I Bought this to enhance my music experience with my LG G5 (and also because I got it at the right price)and it didn't disappoint.I initially attached the DAC direct to the phone,but have since started to use it as an external DAC due to the fact I cannot fit my G5 cover with the DAC fitted due to it making the phone much longer by some 4mm...I have some high end headphones

This LG Hi-FI plus is awesome if you value high-quality music. I have been using it mainly for on the go listening via TIDAL and I'm very impressed. It is a big improvement over the standard DAC as it uses a great ESS Sabre chip found in high-end DAC's costing much more!The headphone amp built into it isn't very powerful though and it can only just power my Sony MDR 1-A headphones which are pretty easy to drive. to get the most of it I have combined it with a Nobsound Littlebear B4 which is Excellent!The only reason it loses a star is due to hit it has on the battery... it's pretty shocking how quickly it drains and even when connected to a decent powerbank it barely holds onto its charge let

After using a pair of Hi Res Cans with the LG G5, using the standard 3.5mm jack with the phones own 24 bit DAC, I was amazed at the difference my mp3s sounded. Trust me, even rubbish 128kps ripped audio is given an upscale boost. I decided on the B&O module, to see if it could be improve d even more,and slipped my Sony MDR-1A Hi Res cans in. I simply cannot believe the difference in the music. It's actually, sometimes, stopping me from enjoying the music as I am stunned at the differences in tracks that I've been listening to for over 30yrs.I cannot recommend this module enough of you want your music to sound unreal. It's not a fad, it really is that good. And that's just with my own mp3s.

The b&o hi-fi plus effect is like a you have good car with 200hp and you put into them a motor with 800hp more! :-) ... The sound quality is amazing!you heard all the frequency band from the deepest bass to the highest tones perfectly without distortion, the volume is superb! My Zenheiser momentum inear can only be longplayed att max 50% att the volume otherwise you can broke your ears, and my Bose QC25 can't be played att max because can get broken!..love love love this pice of kit! :-)The bad :The size of the module fix the phone main house,The battery drain is fast because the strong amplifier ! Like a sport car hehe! :-)If you like sound quality and you can leave with this small issues this is your phone and this is your module!

Difference didn't excite me when I compared the output from the LG Hi-Hi Plus vs phone's own with the headphones but Hi-Fi plus produced much better listening experience via my Denon Hi-Fi with B&W speakers. Output resulted noticeable openness with significant details and punch with smoothness, which was moderately satisfying.I used Betron HD 1000 headphones but I believe it is possible that Hi-Fi Plus would work better with more expensive headphones. It's a good staff for this price range but not impressive if you are looking into getting audiophile satisfaction range results. I read it somewhere that it would result better performance if it's paired with a MacBook Pro than LG G5. So,

Very good for 30. Initially was disappointed but this is a DAC and as such takes time to burn in. The more I use it the better it gets. Soon started producing a much smoother detailed sound than the stock qualcom one. You can find cases which fit on ebay (have to import from Korea). As a standalone DAC it'll transform your computer over a sound card or, even more so, on board audio. It's not as good as my dragonfly red but nor should it be. You don't need to listen to flaac files to hear the difference. Even spotify 320 mp3s sound much clearer. It does make your phone a bit long so probably won't want it on all the time.

Bought mine on ebay (they were out of stock on here at the time). Great product. The existing sound quality of the LG G5 is pretty good but I can definitely notice a marked improvement when using this. Using a pair of Sennheiser headphones and getting great results. It can be plugged into other devices (other phones, pcs etc) via a second usb port. It will use more battery power on the G5 - this is still true if headphones are plugged in even if no music is playing (its enabled when they are plugged in). You just have to remember to unplug them when you are not using it.Note: this product will NOT work on a G5 produced for the USA or Korean markets (not sure why LG did this).

For a long time since buying my LG G5 I have wanted to purchase this item but the initial price of between £60-£80 put me off. Thankfully thanks to the wonderful people at Total Digital, I finally managed to pick up a perfect graded one for just under £27 inc. p&p. At this price it is a highly desirable upgrade to an already good sounding phone. It opens up the whole sounds and smooths the bass without losing any of the punch on my AKG Y50’s. I might still say at it’s full selling price it is a bit of a luxury, but if you can pick up one as I did at less than £30 you won’t regret it ??

Worked like a charm, I have multiple earphones and I do listen to my phone every day, this was maybe the best investment for a LG G5 I have done, as it made it as good as it can get, sound is much more clearer and powerful, paired with my B&O earphones it is amazing. Only one drawback is it would require a special case(that is if you use a case for your phone) that you currently can't find from UK seller on either Amazon or Ebay. If I haven't dropped my G5 on the treadmill I would have been still using it only because because of the DAC

Great sound difference. I have been listening to some 96KHz 24bit files. The difference in sound between the standard headphone socket and the B&O box is impressive. Issues:adds a fair bit of LenghOnboard Speaker is Terrible, No feel to it compared to the Stock LG oneit can get warmtry and get a CasePositives:the Sound is Crisp and Warm with feelweighs Nothingyou get a carry PouchWould i recommend this yes and Nofor People who use Headphones alot Well worth itfor people who use there Speaker its not worth it at all the speaker quality is Dreadful

I bought this for using headphones on my win 10 HTPC and im impressed with the difference it makes. The lower end bassy sounds are more punchy and the overall sound has more clarity and is cleaner. I tried the free trial of dolby atmos which improved the film sound experience and resented paying for the full version so I thought I would try this and it does take the sound to another level.

Sound quality is very impressive, drives my AKG's and b&o h6's just fine.Only reason im giving it only 4 stars is it's slightly longer making it impossible to get a phone case on. But if its just sound quality you're after then dont let that put you off, just means you cant leave it on all the time if you want to use a case for protection.

To the more discerning ear you can hear a marked difference when using the HiFi plus. The sound is deeper and you can hear more music in the background. I would have given it 5 stars of there were cases available that fit the phone with the module attached. I feel as though I can't use it out of my home as it's not protected.
