"Best phone I have ever owned" is a big claim, especially since I recently also owned a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (with companion Galaxy Gear smartwatch). So let me elaborate...My previous phone (not counting the Note 3) was a Nexus S, one of Google's earlier and not-very-widely-adopted phones. Although made by Samsung, it was a pure Google Android phone with none of the bloat-ware associated with some manufacturers. And with none of the multiple account sign-ups (Google Account + Samsung Hub + ???). I did like the pure Adnroid experience then, and I like it now on the new Nexus 5.Although I missed out on the Nexus 4, two family members each picked up one of those popular phones when Google slashed the price prior to launching the Nexus 5.While those we're outstandingly good value purchases, I'm glad I waited for the Nexus 5 myself. The Nexus 5 is slim and stylish in a very understated way, like a little black dress (but I'm not a girl). Out goes the bling, and in comes a slightly rubberised back which is way nicer than it sounds... and reassuring to hold. The screen is a pleasure to look at, because you can't see the individual pixels, and it's big enough without being a "phablet". It's fast and responsive, 4G-ready, the latest Android 4.4 KitKat, and very good value for the price I paid "in store" soon after launch (hence not a verified purchase here on Amazon). Documentation is scarce, so you may have to do a lot of experimenting or reading around on the web, but there is always

For a kick off, I'd have to say this can be had much more cheaply directly from Google's own store, but you may have your own reasons for buying from here.I've used a couple of Samsung's Galaxy phones for almost 5 years now (an S1 and S3), and was intrigued at the "vanilla" Android aspect of the N5, and it is indeed very different from Samsung's Touchwiz skin, not always for the better. The Nexus 5 is physically almost identical in size to the Galaxy S3, but in operation, it's very very fast - apps open up almost instantly now. The standard Android skin takes a lot of getting used to, however. It's a rather bare experience which encourages you to get stuff from the app store, compared to both my previous Samsungs having genuinely useful apps bundled with them out of the box, as well as a much more user-friendly setup with tooltips etc. Missing on the Nexus 5 are, for example, a good default MP3 player, a calendar widget, a flashlight app for the LED flash, and others for which the Google Apps bundle are poor replacements - Google Play Music, for example, is a terrible MP3 player and much more of a storefront, and GMail & Chrome are unarguably the best two things you get on the phone.Hopefully the strengths of this phone will be getting the newest versions of Android ASAP from Google, and the fact that it's blisteringly quick by default, but it has made me think that some Android skins (like Samsung's Touchwiz) are not as bad as people make them out to be.

I really like this phone, it is easy to use and is super fast. The screen is clear and bright and the images are sharp. there is no slot for additional sd card to expand the memory (I knew this before purchasing) but at 32Gb it will cover all my needs for several years. It is the EU version with a UK plug in the box.I would definitely recommend purchasing from this company as the service was super, very fast and efficient (5 days) and the phone was well packaged to prevent damage. Thank-you

I have had this phone for a year now and it's been good. The only complaint I have had about it is the sound. It's not very loud at all. I thought mine may be a faulty device (I bought this from Google Play), but it seems a lot of people have the same issue.Apart from that, it is a well-built, solid phone (well, as well built as a plastic phone can be). LG and Google did a good job here!

It may be an older model, but it still runs great and now also on Android 5.0.1Meets all expectations, and handles anything you throw at it, maybe except the newest games.Battery life, under Lollipop, is exceptional under mid-intensive use (lasts a full day easily).

I used to have only samsungs till now but after some research I opted for a google phone. Had to get used to some minor details like where my contacts were (sim, gmail, phone, etc). Was surprised that no headphones were included but the delivery was incredibly fast.

For this price and the new 4.4.1 kit kat update, it is one of the best android phones out there. Battery life is decent for average use, a power machine with snapdragon 800!

6 months down the line, and I'm so happy I upgraded to this from my previous 4 year old smart phone. Still works like a charm with plenty of disk space.
