This has been replaced by the HR2 which uses Thunderbolt and is a lot better if you have the soon to be replaced thunderbolt.Sometime the modules don't register which is annoying. The power adapter is bulky and comes in two parts but this has been replaced by a single simple standard adapter in the HR2 version. The main issue with USB 3 hubs which this technically is, is that the data transfer is compromised the more devices you add. This means that you will not got the optimum transfer speeds when you are reading four cards at once, again this is an issue with USB3 not this product. I also tend to use this on it's side as with cables attached it tends to fall over due to its light weight.Neatdocking solution and completely worth the money at the price it is now [under £50 now]UPDATE 2015-09-15I rate Amazon but the organization of the Lexar eco system sucks! There are many parts but they lumped into one. Here I am attempting to review the cFast reader but Amazon is saying "You have already reviewed Lexar Professional Workflow CR2 CFast 2.0 USB 3.0/Thunderbolt 2 Reader - Black." No I Haven't, my review was for the hub, a separate purchase. So for the cFast reader ONLY. Excellent. because of Amazon's sloppy listing [lump everything together] I didn't realize this cFast reader also has thunderbolt! result!! an amazing reader, so good I'm buying three more!Ignore the images that Amazon posts, carefully choose the module you need!

Having got sick of plugging in and unplugging my regular USB2 card reader I decided it was time to go for something installed permanently and faster.I looked at a couple of different USB3 Card Readers and decided on the Lexar Prof. Workflow system because it wouldn't create a rats nest of cables on my desk but would still give me several options for media.I decided to go for the 4-bay USB3 hub, the three card Micro SD card reader (I've several devices that use Micro SD), SD card reader (a couple of video cameras that use SDXC), 2 port USB3 hub (I now don't have to fiddle around at the back of the computer to pop in a USB3 device)and a 256GB SSD hard drive (I had a spare slot and this was £23 so I couldn't pass it up)Copying files across to the computer from the cards zips along now - far better than the USB2 from my old card reader of direct from cmera. Being able to copy across from 3 Micro SD and 2 SDXC cards at the same time (with a USB3 SDXC reader plugged into the 2 port USB3 hub slot) is far more convenient that one after the other and still completes alot faster than USB2.I've been using this system on Linux Mint and Windows 10 and it's working fine on both systems.

As a regular picture taker with cameras and cards of all kinds this is a fantastic device. I have one at home and one at work so that I can share the 512Gb module for moving photos between home and work quickly. As a Mac user I hate the SD card slot at the rear of iMacs so having a device like this where I can insert the cards from the front and import up to 4 cards at a time is just incredible. One very large tip for Mac users, don't bother paying the premium for the Thunderbolt option. I have both units and I can tell you that there is no difference in speed between the USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt options due to the ceiling on speeds on both cards as well as the SSD modules they sell.To give you an idea of speeds, the SSD they sell (512Gb anyway) has around 230Mb/s write speeds and 350Mb/s reads. There are no cards available today that will touch that speed, even if you are copying 2 or 3 at a time. I get the same speeds using either the Thunderbolt connection or USB 3.0 so save your pennies.

This is a great product for people who work with photo/video.Earlier, the worst part of my workflow was to get all my videos from my cards to my computer. sometimes I had up to 6 cards and with just one built-in sd card reader and two usb readers it took too long, not to mention that my USB ports were always full. Now I've got this hub, everything is so easy. I went with 2 SD readers and one micro SD. Now I can connect 5 cards at once and Ive still got room for one more reader! Now I just insert all my cards and let the computer change video format in batch from cards to external SSD overnight.

Very fast USB3 reader. Slightly more expensive than some others, but worth paying the slight extra for dependable quality. This can be stacked into a four unit housing which might be worth while for professional photographers with a high workflow. In that case the thunderbolt version might be worthwhile, but at 5 times the price, I think I could wait a few seconds! (Obviously, to get USB3 speeds, you will need a USB 3 port on your computer - it may seem obvious, but I have seen complaints by people saying it was no faster than their other readers - because they were plugging it into USB 2 ports)

This is one of a family of card reader products which can be used standalone with the supplied USB cable or else with a mini tower which allows 4 devices to be connected to a single PC USB port. I use 3 different card types, of which SD is one, and the fourth slot is used for a solid state drive. It's a well thought out system offering top performance and ease of use. Highly recommended.

It's nice to have something that works from one cable, USB 3.0 here. As a regular traveller I was getting tired of having to mentally tick off the various card readers and their disparate cables on leaving and also checking that I took them with me when moving around. This way I've still got two readers but at least there's just the one cable

Beautifully fast, really nice piece of kit.Purchased because my PC's built-in SD card reader wasn't happy with Lexar's new cards (had to hold the card in at an angle).Cannot recommend enough. I'm allergic now to putting a fast card into a non-optimised reader. They take a-g-e-s to copy over.

A brilliantly simple card reader that works on its own or as part of the Lexar Thunderbolt tower. I have several of them and they are almost bomb-proof. The USB3 device connector is way tougher than the flimsy spade version that you get on most accessories.

Brilliant. I have been waiting for this for years. Now I can import four cards at once into lightroom (it does them sequentially) and being usb 3 it is very fast (the bottleneck is the card's speed). Highly recommended for working pros.

Amazing!!!! Fast and reliable. For productivity it's a must have. For photographers, combined with PhotoMechanic is a breeze to work with. one click batch import. No more time wasted waiting for that card to download/ingest.

Great CF reader, as the card goes well into the slot before engaging the pins. This avoids misaligned & bent pins, a problem I've had on several cheaper Readers.Well designed & worth the extra outlay.Highly recommended.

very sturdy and reads very fast via USB3. It also has a rubber cover to put over the slot to keep the dust out. came in a sturdy box and that is where I keep it when not in use. No glitches when in use. great product.

The flexibility of this system allows one to deal with a range of flash media from SD, compact flash to XQD all via a single link. You can also extract any module for singular use on you laptop or tablet

Superquick. Will buy the CF version too, as my current cheap is getting unreliable and disconnecting a lot. Looks as though the hub and SSD may be a good idea as a photoshop scratch disk as well.
