-YOU FIND A LINK TO A HIGH QUALITY VERSION OF THE VIDEO IN THE FIRST COMMENT-#SpecsI will begin with a brief overview about the specs of this device. The tablet features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 CPU and 4GB of RAM. It also has 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 400GB using a MicroSD card. The device offers a USB-C port and a headphone jack. Furthermore this model offers a LTE modem for a fast internet connection. The matching S-Pen is included with the device.#PowerThe Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 cpu is a well-known chip that has been used by so many devices in the year 2017. However, for a top device in 2018, this CPU fells kind of out of date. Also, the 4GB of RAM is fine, but compared to smartphones in the same price range not that much anymore. But if you compare the Tab S4 to other Android Tablets on the market, the picture changes for the better. It currently has the performance crown, leading over the Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro. It can't compete with the new iPad Pro though. However, I don't focus so much on benchmarks, the subjective feeling has to be good for me. Luckily, everything runs smoothly and the programs start quickly. Even performance-hungry programs like Adobe Lightroom work very well. More RAM would still have been desirable, especially with regard to DeX. More about that later.#DisplayThe obvious highlight of the tablet is the 10.5 inch display. The Super AMOLED panel offers a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. This results in a pixel density of 288 PPI. The maximum brightness is approximately 450 cd/m². Not only the resolution provides a good viewing experience, but above all, the color representation is very rich and powerful thanks to the AMOLED technology. Samsung also offers different color modes to choose. You can choose between a very saturated image or a neutral look. For example, I prefer the Amoled Photo mode.#S-PenThe S-Pen is included with the tablet and does not require to be recharged over time. It's made of plastic, but it still looks like a high quality product because of the gloss optic. The built-in button has a pleasant haptic feedback. The use of the S-Pen is great fun and massively enhances the usability of the tablet. Not only the input is very accurate, but also the additional functions increase the productivity a lot. You can easily create screenshots from areas and mark them with handwritten notes. Everything works very intuitively.#BatteryWith a capacity of 7300mAh you are probably expecting very long runtimes. However, the results are only okay but not overwhelming. The predecessor Tab S3 sometimes shows much better results, although the Tab S3 only offers a battery capacity of 6000mAh. I am referring here to the serious test values from Notebookcheck.com.My subjective impression is that the tablet lasts pretty much as long as my now older One Plus 3T. With normal usage you easily last one day, if you are a power user you going to need a power socket during the day.#CamerasA few words about the cameras. I haven't tested them that much, because I don't think that they will be a key feature to anyone buying this tablet. That's probably what Samsung thought as well. The photo cameras are nice, offer funny and childish functions like stickers or filters, but nothing special. However, the video function of the rear camera delivers a really decent 4k picture quality .#SoftwareThe pre-installed Android version is 8.1.0, which its overlayed with a Samsung theme. The Android security patch level is listed as October 1, 2018. In addition to a few Samsung apps, Mircosoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint are pre-installed on the tablet. In almost all Samsung apps you are asked directly for a Samsung account, if you want to use them. All in all, there are no major system changes or anything you would find annoying.Dex is an exciting feature which really offers great additional value. If you use the tablet with an optional keyboard you really get close to laptop feeling. Especially for multitasking this feature is great. In this case, 6 or even 8GB RAM would make this mode perfect. This feature also works great in combination with an external monitor. The USB-C port can be used for screen output, depending on which port you need an adapter is necessary. However, I did not manage to successfully produce a 4K output from the tablet, although my monitor is a native 4k screen. The adapter I used also lists 4K as compatible.#SummaryThe Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is certainly the best Android tablet currently on the market. This is not only because of the overall good quality of the tablet, but also because of the lack of competition. So Samsung doesn't even have to install a state-of-the-art processor and can also save a little money on RAM. The ability to have models with more internal memory than just 64GB would also be great. The display is absolutely brilliant and you probably won't want to miss it anymore if you use it once. The S-Pen is intuitive and increases the productivity enormously. Together with a keyboard and Dex you come very close to a good all-in-one device. Overall, there is only one specific negative point, and that's the price. For 500£ for the Wifi version and 550£ for the LTE version, you probably going to think twice whether the tablet is worth it. If current top hardware would be installed, the internal storage doubled or if more accessories would be included, this price would be more acceptable.

Who is this tablet for?As stated in my title, this tablet is for people that primarily plan to use the device for watching video, browsing the web and for email. The screen alone makes this device absolutely perfect for watching anything from YouTube videos to fully fledged movies. Not to say the Galaxy Tab S4 can't be used for some content creation too, don't expect to be doing 3D modelling or music production on the tablet as Android just isn't mature enough for these use cases. There are a lot of tablet optimised games and a fair amount of productivity apps available on the Play Store. Just don't expect all the apps you download to fully take advantage of the display. For that,I recommend just using the web browser. Microsoft Office however works perfectly although it requires an Office 365 subscription. What's good:The display is best in class for a tablet period. Colours are extremely vibrant, contrast is perfect, saturation is definitely on the more vibrant side but definitely looks clean and accurate overall. The display also gets to 600+ nits so it's incredibly visible even in direct sunlight outside. Since the display is 16:10, watching almost any widescreen video scales really well since most content is 16:9. Thanks to that sAMOLED display, the tiny borders are invisible too since dark pixels don't light up on OLED displays. The sound quality is also very good overall, the stereo sound makes a big difference when watching. It's plenty loud although not the loudest you've ever heard from a tablet. Dynamic range is good and treble is excellent meaning voice sounds exceptionally crisp. Bass response could be a bit better though, the iPad Pro has noticeably richer sound but it's not a reason I'd spend the extra £200+ for.Battery life is very respectable considering Android is much more capable than iOS is. Standby battery could be better but actual usage time is really good; Samsung claims it can do up to 16hrs of local video playback, I'd say that estimate isn't far off as the battery life is good even when streaming from WiFi.DeX - This is Samsung's answer to being a "productivity" tablet. Honestly it works extremely well and even for apps that aren't optimised (most are, especially the big ones) as you can use several phone apps side by side and windowed as a fallback option. Even when not using DeX, Samsung's software allows you to window, tile and minimise almost any app making this device far closer to a laptop than an iPad Pro (at least on paper). For doing email, browsing the web and office apps it's literally like being on a tablet. It's definitely one of the most underrated and not talked about features of this device. The fact the pen comes included with this device is a huge win (even for someone who isn’t artistically skilled), you’ll find yourself naturally taking notes and drawing much more frequently. The pen is pressure sensitive, comfortable and doesn’t require charging. The iPad Pro gets lots of praise for having an inductively charging pen, but the Tab S4 gets zero recognition for being even more innovative than the new iPad Pro in this case. This is especially impressive as the pen is just as responsive and accurate as the iPad Pencil and again costs you nothing. The bad:There isn't really much to talk about here, if you're heavy into iOS ecosystem then this probably isn't for you. Additionally if you use iPad exclusive apps that you can't get alternatives for on Android, then I'd remain tethered to Apple. I mentioned the battery life isn't amazing on standby. This is true unless you put the device into airplane mode or turn off the device overnight (lets face it, most people won't do this). No fingerprint unlock. This won't bother most people since most modern phones have replaced the fingerprint with what is (in my opinion) inferior face/iris recognition technology. It isn't as fast or convenient, a minor gripe but something to keep in mind nonetheless.Misconceptions:Android has no apps tablet optimised apps - while Android has few tablet optimised apps in comparison to iOS this statement isn't entirely true. The fact is Android has more tablet apps than are available on the Windows Store (for people buying MS Surfaces). Besides, all the apps most people care about such as YouTube, Twitch, Chrome, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Gmail, drawing apps, many games, Spotify, Plex, Steam streaming and the list goes on…To a certain extent, the Tab S4 is an exception as having DeX built in means you can run non-tablet optimized apps in a window (in most cases). You really won’t be let down app-wise unless you’re deep into the iOS eco-system in which case why are you even reading this? :)

Good:- the pen comes with the tablet, and doesn't require charging- the wide screen is perfect for Netflix, Viki, Amazon etc - movies are stunning- the sd slot will take up to a 400 GB card, so the standard 64 GB internal memory is fine- the operating system is Android so well suited to the deviceNot so good:- the 'secure folder' for confidential storage/apps only applies to internal storage. Whilst the sd card can be encrypted, controlling access further is problematic. Not all apps take kindly to being sandboxed in the secure folder, for example Kindle. However it is possible to set up a different profile to log in with more restricted access.- the lack of hard buttons means there is littlespace wasted but is a pain when you accidentally skip your place in a movie back or forth when trying to switch apps. On balance, I'd prefer hard buttons.- the iris/face scanner offers biometric access protection to the device but requires the correct positioning of face and tablet as well as reasonable lighting. There's also less control - just because your face is in sight doesn't necessarily mean you want to unlock the device, authorise a transaction, or whatever. The iris scanner in particular sometimes causes me headache/eyestrain. It's a nice idea, but not as practical as a fingerprint scanner. It's lack of reliability in all conditions may prevent you from using a really strong password as you'll need to be using an alternate access method quite frequently.- the wifi connection can be problematic. If i am in the front bedroom with my router in the back bedroom I often have to use the hotspot on my phone rather than home wifi. In the end I extended the wireless network using a second Apple Airport. This is ridiculous. Other tablets have no such problem.Overall:It's a decent high-end tablet with a lot going for it. I've mentioned a few reservations, but there are no real show stoppers. After a month's usage there are still features to explore, so I'll update the review as and when.Update:Another option to consider instead of a 400 GB sd card at around the same price is to get a basic 64 GB card and a 500 GB Samsung T5 SSD external drive connecting to the USB C port which has built in AES encryption and can also connect to PC and Mac via USB-C or USB3 to allow easy file transfer rather than having an encrypted sd card tied to the tablet.

I am a sixth form student and I bought this tablet for my school work and it is an absolutely amazing productivity tool. The battery life is incredible, easily lasting an entire school day and still having 50% by the time I get home. The screen is bright and vivid in colour and its HDR capability makes it especially great for watching movies, and when you couple it with the tablet's quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support you get an incredible movie experience. When playing music, the sound is crystal clear and it fills the room. But the tablet's main attraction (for me anyway) is the S Pen that's included in the box. It's a brilliant productivity tool that supports pressure and tilt sensitivty as well as palm-rejection so you can rest your hand on the screen while you write or draw. The S Pen is powered by a digitiser under the screen so you never need to charge it or connect it to the tablet, it just works straight out of the box. It also has a button on the side with multiple uses. You can use it as an eraser in Samsung Notes and PENUP, and you can hover the pen above the screen and press the button to access useful tools like Screen Write (takes a screenshot and allows you to annotate it with the S Pen) and Smart Select (allows you to capture a specific area of the screen).I would highly recommend buying a Samsung Keyboard Cover case to go with this tablet as it's a pleasure to type on and it will protect the tablet from drops and scratches when carrying it around.Overall, this is truly a great device and an amazing productivity tool, and it's served me well for the past month that I've had it and I would highly recommend it, not only for work but for entertainment as it's Super AMOLED HDR capable screen and it's quad speakers with Dolby Atmos make for a truly immersive movie experience.

No complaints whatsoever and that includes with the seller, Seagull UK, who delivered the Tab S4 just two days after ordering. Excellent Android tablet with superb screen definition and colour. Sound is more than acceptable, after all it is a tablet not a high-end hifi system. Follow initial set-up menus carefully and there will be none of the reported part-Portuguese text. In common with many/most electronic consumer devices nowadays only a quick start guide is supplied but a full PDF manual can easily be downloaded from the Samsung UK website and saved into the Tab S4 Documents/Downloads folder. The only disappointment, if it can be called such, that I have found so far is that two or three apps that I wanted to download from the App Store have indicated as "incompatible with this device" but this is very obviously an Android problem and is nothing to do with the Tab S4 itself. Do not take any heed of the bad reviews, this is a totally excellent tablet and, at least in my experience, Seagull UK is a first class seller.

reat tablet, easy to set up and connect to WiFi, syncs with galaxy phone perfect, liking the new security using your eyes, can be set up if you take the tablet out and about, means if someone where to take it they couldn’t use it as they wouldn’t be able to unlock it, when u are at home you can switch it of as I found it annoying each time the table when to sleep I had to unlock it, so I just, switched it of, when buying of amazon or eBay or any shopping site, you can switch it on and use it as a payment method, rather than using your password, which if u have kids that play games and download payable accessories for the games it means that they wouldn’t be able too.The android system is very fast, the videos are very clear and the sound is amazing with the sound quality only half way. Connected to my Bose speaker fine via Bluetooth. It’s lightweight and charges very quickly, and battery can last good 2 days with normal usage before needing to charge. If you are thinking of purchasing this I would, it’s a great tablet

This was a birthday present for my wife. Her old Samsung tablet was not holding a charge very well and becoming somewhat sluggish. I may have the battery replaced and sell it...She likes her new tablet very much. The only down side is that it wasn't especially ment for the UK market. Its default language was Portuguese. That can be overcome, wonder about warranty issues...let's hope we don't have any.Back to three tablet. Her old S2 had only 1 processor, this has 8 and 2.34gh. The speed is very impressive. The audio and screen imaging are also greatly improved, but this is an S4.Overall, very impressed and satisfied. Some may consider it a bit pricy, but, come on,you get what you pay for (some people seem to complain about any and everything...).If you 'need' a tablet this is very good value for money and the service/delivery was earlier than advised.I would use this provider again, definitely!

As you’d expect the Galaxy Tab S4 is a great tablet. It is very good to use with fast response, excellent screen, great battery life and plenty oomph. If I’m being picky there are some minor points that mean it isn’t quite my perfect tablet, but they are fairly minor. They include the lack of a charging indicator light (there’s no way to see if it’s charging unless it’s powered up) and the lack of a fingerprint sensor. Yes, it does have facial & retina unlocking but there are times when a fingerprint sensor is more practical and I was surprised not to find one on the S4. The official Samsung accessories are way too expensive of course, but the tab itself makes up for that and there are lots and lots of non-official products available which work very nicely, thank you. The Tab S4 has become my go-to tech in the weeks that I’ve had it, and I’m delighted with it.

I bought this tablet in August 2018 and being using it since. I found myself wondering multiple times on how much I like this tablet. The tablet is great for content and video watching, however it is also great for productivity! I work in an office environment and always have pity of my colleagues and they are Ipads as they cannot open a file from an email in a different app without doing complicated steps. With this tablet, instead, it is so easy to work in parallel, read documents side by side and use multi-tasking.I have found myself in not needing DEX too much, but everytime I sued it it was great.Best buy of the year for me and I can't believe all those 3.5 professional reviews of peoplethat if there isn't an apple or garageband already discount what is instead an excellent piece of work.

Amazing fast tablet with good specs 64gb surge changes to 52gb after update and 4gb of ram I only have 1.5gb left with no apps open. Samsung should have put 6gb of ram and at least 128gb storage but they did not. Upgraded from tab s2 as they stopped supporting it. Runds 8.1 out of the box I use mine for watching movies and they look lush very nice screen shame no HDR like s3. All in all this is the best tablet for android but there is not much to pick from at this moment in time

Uggh! Summarises my purchase. The first issue I had was that it wouldn't recognise my IRIS (I mean come on!) and then the screen isn't as sensitive when its dormant so you need to tap a few times or press the key to the side. Rather annoying as it is supposed to be a touch tab! I haven't used the keyboard as the charging cable wasn't included. So far it has been a great tool to have for my work but not all that great. Do wish I had invested in an iPad to be honest!

Once again Samsung have shown Appke how to make tablets that have amazing features and doesn't mean you gave to spend the crazy money Apple charge. Not only is the Tab S4 a great looking tablet and can be upgraded to 400Gb storage, but it has so much more compered to my daughters recent top of the line Apple Tablet she just purchased. After seeing the Samsung she now wished she had waited for it, and saved herself a lot of money after paying £769 for the IPad Pro.

15.2.2020

This is honestly the greatest tablet I have ever bought. Screen is stunning and really pops. Its fast, responsive and gives you so much freedom to do what you like with it. For games I have leaned more towards my iphone but this is perfect for movies, comics, manga and books as well as music since ifs so loud. The S-Pen is also amazing but avoid the default drawing app and get ArtFlow. If youre a drawer its a must.

The tablet arrived with the options being shown in the Slovak language. I had no idea what anything meant right from the start. Had to research what the Slovak word for 'language' is and then find where to make the changes. Once that was sorted out, all was well apart from having to rename a shortcut or two to English. Having overcome this initial problem, the tablet works well and I'm pleased with it.

I had a faithful Sony tablet which unfortunately somebody sat on! Trying to decide on a new tablet was difficult but I wanted a pen. This new tablet is amazing.Plug it in and sets itself up, all my apps no problems.I let my eldest granddaughter use it yesterday. Her first question was how much did it cost Grampa, I want one.The pen is perfection. It was worth the money just for that.
